Basically, GEJ is saying that even if he had reservations about the elections, he knew that if he had contested the results, the North and some of their SW allies would have visited mayhem on the country. He was literaly 'bullied' out of his constitutional right to contest the outcome of the election. GEJ saved a lot of lives by conceding defeat. Unfortunately, if he had to do this to save lives, APC is not likely to be a Government that will effect any meaningful change |

Olabestonic001: Yes, Abiola, MKO did even braver things when a certain Kanu was busy cohorting with Abacha to convert him to civilian president; does 1Million man match for Abacha rings to you? I will tell you, a MKO paid his dues, he died for his beliefs, Tinubu, Fayemi et al went to the trenches and the result is the democracy which all of you are now hiding under to ask for freedom to secede. Always dig deep on history and do not compare that foolish Kanu to brave and great men who fought great courses intelligently and sometimes died for it. Let Kanu die for his beliefs so that we can test the popularity of the Biafran agitations. Kanu is no fool. You may not agree with him but that does not make him stupid. Kanu has always maintained that he is willing to die for his beliefs. However, he is not going throw his life away for a popularity contest. |

spanishkid: 1. Operating an illegal radio
2. Inciting hate messages through that illegal radio
3. Soliciting for funds to buy arms to fight a sovereign and independent country.
4. Trying to lump others in ther proposed banana republic
5. Calling for the extermination of yorubas and hausas.
6. Calling the citizens of a country monkeys and baboons.
7. Calling a democratically elected president a pedophile. answers1. How can a London based Radio station be illegal in Nigeria? If your country doesn't like the content, jam the signal. 2.Under the constitutional provision of freedom of speech, anyone can deliver hate messages 3. Until a person actually acquires arms and starts fighting, there is no case. 4. What others? French? Germans Americans? Igbos? BTW, start by cursing Lugard who lumped everyone together to create Nigeria. 5. Covered under the right of free speech 6.Until the right of free speech is removed from the constitution, anyone can refer to Nigeria and Nigerians by any name 7. Buhari should feel free to sue Kanu for defamation if he likes. Bottomline, there is no case against Kanu |

ISpiksDaTroof: What Nnamdi Kanu did was actually worse: he was inducing war, terror and mass genocide. He wanted to mobilize an army of likeminded people and he almost succeeded. He was calling on millions to wage war and he used hate speech which cannot reasonably be covered under the constitution. The husband of the lady in my story wasn't killed, please read the story again, it is similar to what Nnamdi Kanu is in trouble for. And we are back to "what Kanu said" In a way it is good that Kanu is on trial. It's about time some people learnt about the right of free speech. |
Politics › Re: Photos Of Nnamdi Kanu In Court Today For His Bail Hearing by zendy: 1:17am On Jan 30, 2016 |
ISpiksDaTroof: When I worked in the D.A's office, I prosecuted a woman once, you want to know her crime? She solicited a someone to kill her husband. What she did not know was that the person she was talking to was an undercover officer. She was subsequently arrested, charged, tried and convicted of Solicitation of murder.
If she hadn't been arrested and had spoken to a real hired killer, her husband would be dead today. But that is different from what Kanu did! Kanu didn't go and meet anyone to have anyone killed. I'm also sure that for your office to have prosecuted this woman, she must have been shown to have directly induced the killing of her husband by providing weapons or money, information etc. That is active participation in a murder plan. But if Kanu says on his radio station that certain people should be killed, that is just personal opinion, not an order. The difference is that he has not yet "actively" participated in the crime beyond mere 'words' and as such, his freedom of speech protects him. Wishing a person or a people death might be a bad thing, but it is not a crime in any court of law. |

dmater: A system that is setup to breed hatred, jealousy and distrust is bound to fail. And there is no force on that can stop an idea that has come to fruition.
Yesterday they claimed that the BFR struggle was an online affairs and that Kanu was a fraud enjoying life in UK instead of coming down to Nigeria to champion the cause.
Today the same charlatans are singing a different song of how Kanu should have stayed back in UK and not risked being imprisoned.
Little wonder they are called integrity-challenged charlatans. That's the hypocrisy of the Lagos-Ibadan-expressway-media. I was actually waiting for one of them to commend Kanu for having the guts to come back to Nigeria for what he believes in even though he knew he was a wanted man. The same people who said Kanu is a fraud for staying in London are the same people who now laugh that he is in jail. The same people who shamelessly show that they are eternal cynics. At least Kanu is going through discomfort for what he believes in, as any these people to go through any discomfort for the Nigeria and you will see them run away |

Is kalu the director of that mediocre radio Biafra? If he answers yes, then he has alot to answer for nearly half the broadcast he made. Jokers. Do you know how many Nigerians say they are going to kill someone on a daily basis? Everyone is saying such on the streets, in markets even in schools. Nigerians use threatening language all the time. Why do you think that nobody has ever been arrested and prosecuted for saying they are going to killl someone? Because the constitution allows us all to say whatever we want to say. It is when we translate what we say to action that we break the law. Do you know how many gangster rap musicians talk about killing people, shooting people, murdering people and about commiting serious crimes on their music? They even sell this music to the public. Why do you think that no rapper has ever been arrested for what they say? Freedom of speech allows us all to say anything including saying we are going to keep kill someone |

And why dress your language in a different suit to obscure the meaning? Below is your post and there's no other meaning to be inferred other than planing
I honestly don't know what you implied @ the bolded part other than planning. What I mean is that a person cannot be jailed for what they say, no matter how bad what they said is. It is not possible to commit treason by word of mouth. Actions are what get people jailed, not what they say. Kanu's freedom of speech allows him to say anything he likes. |

Progressive01: People like you are Kanu's greatest enemies. You'd rather have him die to prove he's got balls than see him set free while Nigeria remains intact, knowing fully well that either way, Nigeria will remain in one piece. But who is doing the killing? Who is going to kill Nnamdi Kanu? Who is shooting and killing IPOB members? Who is doing the persecution? Who is doing the jailing? The answer is Nigeria. Kanu has killed no one, he has jailed no one, he has persecuted no one. His crime was to say things that might not be palatable to some ears. Ask the important questions. The problem is Nigeria not Kanu. As for Nigeria staying one, all I can say is that the Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa-Fulani man one lived in west Africa for over 4 thousand years without being one until a certain chap called Lugard came on the scene 100 years ago. If those guys could stay without each for over 4 thousand years, you find out that there is nothing spectacular about the enforced unity of Nigeria |

What is the glory in being a conquered rebel. South Sudan were rebels and thry fought till they achieved their objective. Same goes to Eritrea. Those are worthy rebels.
Such an inglorious commonwealth of conquered slaves and war booties are only meant for the people from the land of gully erosion Rebels of what state? The state you willingly accepted and went into with your fellow Africans or the state Lugard came to "enforce" for his British overlords? You have no state. What you have is just the extended colonial contruct started by Lugard a little over a hundred years ago. The only difference is that the skin colour of those who running it has been changed from white to black. You will only have a state when the indigenous people of the land agree to it. Anything else is wishful thinking. |

EastanPower: Nnamdi kanu was very tactless in his so-called agitation. What was he thinking when he stepped into Nigeria(The Zoo)? Didn't he know that the Nigerian government would be out looking for every opportunity to arrest him? Buhari would have been seen as a very weak president if Kanu had stepped into Nigeria without being arrested. Buhari did what any sane president would have done to keep his reputation intact.
I bet he must have thought that coming into Nigeria would make him look brave but he failed to realise that there is a difference between failure and stupidity.
When people want to fight with a sitting government they usually do so from outside the country but Nnamdi Kanu failed to understand this very simple fact.
Entering Nigeria was the height of stupidity on the part of Nnamdi Kanu and he might end up being executed. I don't think Nnamdi Kanu made any mistake coming into Nigeria. There's no way he could have claimed to be an authentic freedom fighter if he could not return to fight his cause. His coming and his subsequent arrest is why Biafra is one of the most hotly discussed topic in Nigeria. His coming back is why all major news stations from Aljazeera to CNN to BBC have talked about Biafra to their global audience. Kanu's return exposed Buhari to the world media as an unrepentant tyrant. There are many positives to Kanu return and the treasonable charges against him are just baseless |
