Go to YouTube and watch US Marine corps training video and you will see that these pictures are just boyscout training. Yet, you never hear about the US Marines brutalising civilians or shooting unarmed protesters. It's got nothing to do with training, it's all about discipline and orientation. To this day, most security forces do not know that it is a crime to lay hands on an unarmed civilian without a very good reason. In civilised countries, not only will a military man who unnecessarily brutalises a civilian be dismissed from his job, the civilian can sue for excessive use of force |
ANAMBRA11:Igbos are not defending Jonathan, it's just that we still believe in "innocent until proven guilty by a court of law". Something that Buhari and APC supporters no longer remember |
As unpopular as APC was in Igboland before the elections, APC has become even more unpopular since Buhari was elected. APC is dead in Igboland. As a poster above already said, the only recognised parties in Igboland is PDP and APGA |
lawak:Listen, stop deceiving your self. No single individual made Igbos hate APC.From the onset, APC was a Yoruba/Northern affair. Most Igbos could see that APC was a movement designed to bring Buhari and Tinubu to power. The only reason Osibanjo became VP was because Nigerians kicked against a muslim/Muslim ticket. Do you think there would be any APC today if GEJ had been a Yoruba or Hausa man? It was apparent that APC was just a continuation of the age old alliance between the Northerners and Yorubas for the political subjugation of Nigeria. OBJ ran one of the worst Governments in Nigeria, did the Yorubas remember APC when OBJ was running against Buhari who now the "darling president" of Yorubas in 2003? Of course not, they actually voted him en mass for him to continue. It became apparent to all Igbos that in a choice between Buhari and GEJ, no right thinking Igbo man would vote Buhari. As an Igbo man, I have no regrets voting GEJ. I also want to add that the Igbos and their general dislike of Buhari is not something that started today. It started 50 years ago when Buhari, then a young Lieutenant in Lagos followed his fellow northern officers to engineer the massacre of over 300 Igbo soldiers in the counter coup of 1966. I wish Buhari and his Government well, but for now, the man and his party hasn't got the patronage or trust of most Igbos |
lookandlaff:This happens with every ethnic group in Nigeria not just Igbos. In effect, the OP made no point. It is commonplace in Africa for political leaders to abandon their people after elections |

Banter1:We trust GEJ with reason. I'm not saying he ran the best Government imarginable but it was a choice between GEJ or Buhari. As an Igbo man, who did you think I was going to choose? |
Any Politician who joins APC in Igboland has just commited political harakiri. It is different in Imo state because Rochas entered APC at inception and just barely managed to hang on to Government house by the skin of his teeth in the last election. APC is even more unpopular in Igboland now that they are in power than before they came into power and nothing is likely to change that position any time soon. |
I read through the long epistle and found it to make no sense at all. What point was the writer trying to make? That Igbos rejected APC? As an Igbo man, Buhari abd APC have not shown me any reason to trust them. If anything, I trust them even less now that they are in power than when they were not. And I'm sure most of my fellow Igbos share the same sentiment. APC is simply hasn't got the support of Igbos and is likely never to. That's just the way it is |
coolitempa:Instead of saying that, why don't you point out the lies? |
Every Tom,Dickk and Harry out there is now claiming to hold brief for Kanu. Everyone is claiming to have interviewed him and everone has his apology letter. Ihe nka dikwa egwu |
spanishkid:Look I know your life ambition is to be with Igbos in 'one Nigeria' but one would have thought that by now, you would have learnt to do without Igbos? Or was Lord Lugard your teacher in primary school? |
missKiffy:That's what they said about the leader of Boko Haram, Yusuf, when he was captured. Guess what? He wasn't released and something is still happening even to this day. |
vedaxcool:Some Nigerians are narrow minded. Nobody comes to a court of equity with unclean hands. If Buhari cannot observe the same law he is accusing Nnamdi Kanu and Dasuki of breaking, then what makes Buhari any better than Kanu or Dasuki? |
Ikpeazu is living on borrowed time. |
bugzbunny:Don't mind these APC supporters. They are more interested in criticising FFK than criticising the issues that FFK raised just because they know they can't defend Buharis tyranny. |
superstarDikk:I don't know about Iran threatening Nigeria but it is highly disgraceful that hundreds of people were butchered just so that your COAS can have right of way. Later, you will call your self a civilised country and giant of Africa. |
I don't know the significance of this news. That some supporters of Buhari in the SE are taking Mbakas warning seriously is not news. Every President knows that there is always a security risk to their lives. |
What is the point of this thread? Even Ojukwu once believed in 'one Nigeria' before he changed his mind. |
spanishkid:Most of you Nigerians don't seem to realise that the agitation has long overtaken Kanu and assumed a life of its own. It doesn't matter if Kanu is released tomorrow or kept in jail for 100 years, the agitation will not stop. |
Noneroone:So you don't know that we are in an era of dictatorship? |
Rossikk:Don't give me that crap. There isn't a Nigerian alive who doesn't call someone by some kind of animal name on a daily basis. Cow, Goat, Snake, Scopion ...... we all do it in English and in our native language. Just because Kanu did his on radio doesn't make anyone better than him. As far as I know, Kanu didn't twist any bodies arm to tune into his radio station. You all probably enjoyed being called Baboon anyway |
Kzealz:I agree with you. The two judgements are not the same. In Rivers, a re-run was ordered but in Abia, Otti was declared winner. However, Ikpeazu maybe heading to the supreme court which might mean that the status quo might be maintained |
spanishkid:I think Kanu actually did Nigeria a favour calling Nigeria a zoo. You people won't even start thanking the man for not calling Nigeria worse? The man said kill Nigerians and Hausas? In what context? The context of war or peace? I doubt if I or anyone is going to leave the east to go Hausa or Yoruba land to go and kill people. What will that achieve? Somalia will look like paradise if Biafra is not achieved? This is true. However, I think it should now be changed to "Somalia will look like a paradise compared to Nigeria by the time Buhari has finished with Nigerians". The prediction of Nigeria ending in 2015 did not happen but who is perfect at predicting anything? Even almighty America got the prediction wrong. The fact that it didn't happen in 2015 doesn't mean it won't happen in 2016 or the near future. We are interested in the dissolution of Nigeria and not prediction accuracy. Of course you are all monkeys and baboons. Even Lord Lugard said so when he made you all 'Nigerians' |
I think this thread is misleading. When you say 'South-South' hero, what do you mean? In my understanding, it should mean someone who has impacted positively on the South-South geo-political zone, not some tribal hero. Neither Boro, Oba Akenzua or Wiwa ever heard of anything called 'South-South'. Boro and Wiwa were heroes of the Ijaw and Ogoni ethnic nationalities. I have no problem with a group of ethnic groups coming together and calling themselves by whatever name, but let it be by consensus. Not because some crazy military man drew an imaginary map. It is infuriating for me as an Anambra man to look across the River Niger into the Igbo city of Asaba and an Ijaw man is telling me that I'm looking into the 'SS', a term not even recognised in the constitution. |
spanishkid:I know you quoted me to increase the pages of this stupid thread. But I don't respond for your benefit, you and Buhari have the same level of intellectual reasoning. I respond because of those who have higher reasoning level. Nnamdi Kanu incited hate on his radio station. Who's fooling who? The Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa man have always hated each other, no one needs Kanu for something that has always been there. You think the Hausa man loved Igbos when he slaughtered over 50,000 of them in 1966? Nnamdi Kanu set up a London based Radio station that broadcasting all over the whole world, you don't like what they are saying, don't tune in. Nigeria is standing but standing on what? Standing on democracy? The rule of law? Unity? Progress? Acceptability? Truth? Vision? I laugh in Igbo Your country is standing alright but many countries that are 'sitting' are better off |
spanishkid:So your problem with Kanu is because he "talked"? Sorry to burst your bubble but no one can be jailed in a democratic country for "talking". You can only jail a person for actions they have taken. Kanu may solicit for arms but unless he actually got the arms and used them, there is nothing to charge him with. If someone solicits for a gun so he can rob a Bank, if that person never got the gun, you don't go and arrest the person and charge them for bank robbery when no bank was robbed. Kanu is also entitled to call Buhari or Nigeria by any name under his right to free speech. If Buhari doesn't like it, he can sue Kanu for defamation. As for the crazy people who support Buhari becoming a dictator who has no regard for the rule of law or due process, you all should be ashamed of your selves. This is 'stone age' reasoning. I personally didn't expect Buhari to clean up the mess of Nigeria within his first year in office. The man is not a magician. What I expected was that by now, a clean up process would have begun. I expected that by now, there would have radical shifts in Government policies, a credible Government team in place, implementation of Buharis vision. All we have seen on the part of Buhari is the 'northernisation' of Government, deepening division of the people, lip service, sustained reckless corruption, the faliure of all his electoral promises, blatant political witch-hunting, disregard to the rule of law and president who cannot tell the people what the thrust his Government is. I feel sorry for Nigerians. The election of Buhari over GEJ was like chasing out the tiger out to bring in the Lion. |
British police don't use guns, they don't need it. |
