Validated: No wonder it is very easy to deceive average Nigerians. Politician will go and sit children to eat in classroom, eating corn on the street and taking pictures to post on social media. Joining akara fryer on the street. Then you lot fall for the gimmicks. Ask yourselves why such practices do not happen in saner climes? As governor and a professor for that matter, he should know better. Strong institutions are bedrock of societal development and discipline. Okay, he should also disguise and go to police check-points. He can also disguise and visit ministrues, departments and agencies. Institutional controls will eliminate those sharp practises. How many hospitals has he built as governor? Free healthcare is useless if the hospitals are not there. What is the means of registration for patients and identifying those who access the free service? You leave patients at the mercy of corrupt system and run around with camera to show you are working. Governors should be strategist, not running after nurses and teacher to do their jobs. This your long grammar does not say anything. Firstly Zulum's work is not hidden anywhere, go through the comments and you will see majority of the comments. Secondly, how do you create strong institutions? It is by understanding the real situations on ground, especially at the grassroot. Such institutions are also created with people, and this is the real problem. Average Nigerians in government as civil servants or politicians are highly corrupt. The situation he met at that clinic is an example of well orchestrated multi-level corruption. Who will tell the governor what is happening there when they are beneficiaries? No body except he most likely discover it. And believe me, many people will not commit such again based on his actions. Again, don't rank Zulum with corn eating or Pomo cutting governors, he is rather someone who has come under repeated hail of bullets from insurgents while trying to reach out and identify with his people |

You know nothing, institutions that are neck deep into the mess, yes he may not go everywhere but a strong message is already sent to all and sundry. Many of such centers will be very cautious, knowing that the governor may come anytime. If someone does something reasonable, it is good to commend them and move on |

humilitypays: Every man is corrupt and greedy, including white people we look up to.
It is institutions and laws that curtail those greed of men.
Northerners should allow Nigeria to restructure and strengthen our government institutions to uphold our laws and fight human excess known as corruption.
Without laws and institutions every leader in the world would want to selfishly divert the national treasury for himself, family and political associates.
Restructuring Nigeria will help foster accountability by making leaders more closer to their people and it will spring up regional competition among each regions of Nigeria.
It will push regions to think out of the box on ways to generate money internally within their region to develop their region.
Regions will start upholding tax laws seriously and will work hard to develop their human capacity in order to increase their tax revenues instead of relying on this free sharing of money from Abuja which brings laziness among the state governors.
A restructured Nigeria will reduce agitations of secession as each region will be governed by their own tribesmen and women.
It will improve security because there will be regional and state policing instead of the federal policing that have failed Nigeria woefully yet Northern Nigeria dont want it to end, why always them? I am in total support of restructuring, however, I don't believe it will be a major solution to our problems. We have laws and institutions to curtail the problems bedeviling us, but people will not allow them to function. Those laws are being frustrated by both people of the south and north. People ensure systems and institutions work, it is deliberate effort, are we as a people ready for that? No. As it is evident here, efcc arrest someone and their region cries witch hunt. We are in a pathetic situation that will take more than restructuring to thrive. And the south is much the problem as the north |

humilitypays: All humans are corrupt by nature of human, including whites. It is laws, constitution, policies and government institutions that curtail the greed and excesses of man. Without laws, constitution and institutions to uphold the laws and constitution, every nation will be a mess.
I blame North more because they always reject and fight every effort to right the wrongs of the past.
Example, Northerners rejected restructuring of Nigeria which will bring more equity, fairness and accountability in governance.
They reject honest constitutional review of Nigeria's useless constitution concocted by the corrupt Northern Military Heads of States.
Outlaw open grazing and embrace private ranching which is what every developed and progressive nations of the world are practicing they say no.
They alone clamor for Islamism and Sharia law which no developed nation practices, even against the wish of other Nigerians.
Why must they fight everything that will corrupt the wrongs of our past. What as I see as the major draw back here is the corruption and greed of the politicians. If the fail accountability test now, don't think they will pass it when decentralization takes place. Sometimes, people think that autonomy will automatically transform everything. It is not entirely so, it depends on the integrity of actors and me and you know the crooks we have in leadership. I just remember when south Sudan was fighting for independence from Sudan, once the got it, they became worse for it. It is not out of place to say something is fundamentally wrong with black man, especially black African |

sabreal: Its a possibility, depends on the input data for that period. Its a payroll system. If wrong set of data are fed into the system, then expect wrong output.
The question is who is responsible to generate the input data. Payroll system is usually designed to tolerate no or minimal manual manipulations.
If the university management are responsible to an extent and they refuse to play their, they will continue to bear the consequence of being adamant.
The funniest part is that it usually takes more time to correct and get approval for such correction. Well, it is difficult to defend what OAGF is saying, isn't it?. What I think is the system is heavily flawed or as usual, crooks in the OAGF are manipulating it and feeding large. The evidence of a flawed system are glaring. Firstly, retired or dead lecturers were paid on the system, how? Lecturers who did not enroll were paid on it, how? For those who enroll genuinely are still being short pay. I have two relatives who are NASU members of a federal university, since they enrolled, their salaries range between N3000-N6,000. These are people who willingly join the system. |

humilitypays: Remove Northern Nigeria from Nigeria and you will have a thriving and prosperous nation that will be based on merit.
Igbos and Yorubas will only be competing in who would make their region more developed and advanced.
Northern Nigeria is dragging Nigeria so backward and it hurts a lot.
The only reason Igbos criticize Yorubas is because Yorubas out of fear or cowardice like to side with The North just to get some crumbs that fell off Northern political supremacy table, except that, Igbos dont have any single issue with Yorubas.
Northern Military Heads of States consecutively destroyed Nigeria and looted Nigeria's treasury dry, shared Nigeria's crude oil wells to their family members, friends and lovers, and created a useless constitution that further held Nigeria on the floor and the same North has refused to allow honest constitutional review and restructuring to position Nigeria for greatness yet Yorubas continue to align with them out of fear.
Dear Yorubas, dont you all know that a purely Yoruba nation will be a developed nation than the dilapidated Nigeria you guys think its better for you today just because of the federal favour Lagos is getting under Nigeria and because you want a Yoruba President
Those things can never be compared to having a total Yoruba controlled nation with your gallant Yoruba youths being solely in charge of your security and territory that no invader or land grabber or terrorist can dare enter to kill or rape your women
What makes a nation prosperous and great is the love and passion the citizens have for it not the population it has or the amount of natural mineral resources it has. Human capital development is far more richer than natural mineral resources. Does Switzerland, Luxembourg or Japan or Taiwan or Singapore or South Korea have any crude oil or gold or diamond yet they are among the richest countries on earth?
Yorubas please think! Igbos are never your enemies like most of you ignorantly believe. Igbos are only asking for equity, fairness and meritocracy for all tribes and peoples of Nigeria. Can you as Yoruba man or woman point to any evil Igbos collectively did to you aside the usual political propagandas against Igbos. Ronu oh I disagree with you on the bolded, based on current evidence, you cannot arbitrarily put the blame of regional stagnation on the doorstep of the north. The governors of the south east, south south and southwest as well as other politicians entrusted with developmental resources mostly mismanage or outrightly embezle them. So, how is the north responsible for a governor or senator not using the resources for the their state or constituent development? |
