With non performing appointees weeded out after periodic appraisal. Thumbs up Apga for another first. He has good intentions on this, however I fear for him. If the process does not incorporate the interest of party stake holders, then he will likely have a huge problem on his hands. He is approaching a political position from a civil service point of view which is not surprising because of where he is coming from. In any case, all the best to him |

If you talk about followers, no single politician had that more than Buhari in the current democratic dispensation. Remember, Buhari was polling close to or over 9m votes each election before the merger. What was Tinubu's party numbers then? No where near that. Again, Obasanjo didn't win any state in southwest Nigeria that went to Falae, he was elected president at the end. The point is that, Tinubu's influence on Buhari becoming president is a bit exaggerated. Buhari s political base was far larger than Tinubu's at the merger |

I do hope the father fights this to the end. That child has no reason to die. The father especially should take the whole blame. Don't assume a kid on sick bed cannot lie. His condition as stated in this report by experts can result to disorientation, hallucinations etc. On that basis, he can be speaking nonsense. Cantonese: I understand your clarification, but you seem to classify everyone who has asked for proof as one. Well, I am not in anyway arguing. I have not in anyway called anyone fake. I only asked how it was specifically 25. I asked if there was a count to ascertain the deceased after the bombardment. You asked me to read clearly, but you do not seem to clearly read my comments.
Now I am not crucifying the airforce. If the airforce has not made a statement or posted images to make us believe, then what is there to believe?
“Do you realize that the bombing was in specified areas? The person that gave PRnews the information does not need to be at the location of the bombings.” That’s your comment. However I must ask you this:
If the person who gave PRnews the information was not at the location to make the count, how then can we go from mouth to mouth believing anything as news that was released to us?
In this age and time my brother, for such magnitude of action carried out by our government, hard evidences are given to prove the correctness of the action talked about. “Unofficial information” comes with complete details to enable people believe.
Now I am not against the airforce. I believe that they act within the confines of their capabilities. However certain news that we hear - as the public - need to be checked. The FG has told us this several times and warned us against fake news.
Please think about it all. "If the airforce has not made a statement or posted images to make us believe, then what is there to believe?" Then the doubt, criticism or disbelieve should be directed to PR and not the air force as you insinuated. Mind you, the air force did not report any news to us and as such we cannot drag them on this. "If the person who gave PRnews the information was not at the location to make the count, how then can we go from mouth to mouth believing anything as news that was released to us?" I still want you to understand something here, on your above statement. Casualties are not reported as attack are currently going on, it is after everything calms down that you count. Now the terrorist camps are located in bushes outside communities, terrorist mingle with the locals, even impose tax sometimes on the farming and fishing activities. As a counter terrorism measure, government agencies have secret agents in this same communities like the one who spoke with PR unofficially. Now the terrorist died in water while escaping, the counting must have been done after the bodies were recovered from the same river the locals have access to, even brought to the community in the presence of everyone. So you can see that, the person MUST not be at the exact location as the bombing was going on to count bodies. The counting is not IMMEDIATELY, infact it could be after days to weeks, when the area of operation is properly searched. My issue here is the unwarranted attempt to blackmail the air force even without any statement from them. Again, even if the the statement was official and it was mentioned that, an intelligent officer embedded in the local community reported so, it may not be totally incorrect, he does not need to be where the bombing was taking place when it was going on, he can access the area and evaluat the damage after everything is over. |
Politics › Re: 25 ISWAP Terrorists Drown In Marte River As Military Bombardments Kill Scores by zikter(m): 9:43pm On Feb 04, 2022 |
Cantonese: I read clearly and understood all before making my comment.
So you believe that the intelligence operative was an inanimate object that did not need to run for safety while the bombing was going on? The intelligence operative, even if he could not use a normal camera, could not take images of events on ground to send to whoever posted him there as his confirmation? So he just said 25 by word of mouth and we all are expected to believe? Haba.
If the airforce did not issue a statement, how else would news channels get the information? Did PRnews without first checking with the airforce published that information? Or have you forgotten that the military updates us regularly with their successes in those areas? Do you not remember that images are frequently posted by the airforce and army?
While we pay close attention to whatever is published, we need to do some thinking too. Do you realize that the bombing was in specified areas? The person that gave PRnews the information does not need to be at the location of the bombings. Dead bodies in water could be recoverd in days after someone died so he dose not need to be running after terrorist to know how many have died. As a matter of fact, it could take days again for intelligence to be gathered and not immediately. For sending pictures to whoever send him, how do you know who sent him and if he had submitted the pictures to them? Did PR send him? This is at best an unofficial information to a news agency, of course they always have people that give them unofficial information even in aso rock. And yes, they military do update us on operations and if they do, they clearly state it there with the name of the spokesperson. This is not an official statement from any military source. My point from onset is that, you people are already crucifying the air force even when they have not released any statement. Even if they do, you will still not believe them base on your line of thought here. People just believe the military has not killed or can kill a single terrorist. Why? Even if they release an official statement with pictures attached, people still termed it propaganda and what have you. For the purpose of clarity, my reaction to you is solely based on the condemnation of the air force in this particular news. If you must call any one fake, it must be PR and not the air force who has not told you anything. |

Samade7: I know u will never accept, check the heading of the news n compare it to the body, what do u observe? dats how I will accept u understd what read. How can someone in war front know the number of casualties? The news said escaping ISWAP members, was the intelligence officer stood there counting as they are bn drown or he entered the river to start looking for the dead bodies of the drown ISWAP and counted 25? Yes, I will never accept because you are failing woefully to convince me otherwise. You are trying to question the air force but they did not give any news here. The headline and the body are from PRnews with no air force source quoted. Secondly, you are very myopic about how intelligence works. Does the intelligence officer need to be running with the terrorist to know how many have died in the water? What happened to recoverd dead bodies after some time by the local community in which the intelligence officer is embedded? It is quite difficult to understand how some of you tend to question or criticize news here. At least even if someone is not telling the truth, the way you criticize or question such is very unintelligent |

Samade7: And does the paragraph u quoted relate to what he's saying pls? We are talking about how they arrived at the number of ISWAP members dat were drown, u are talking about how they bombarded their warehouse.
That is the problem. I observe here on nairaland that, people read simple articles but find it difficult to understand. The paragraph is perfectly related. Let me break it down for you. 1.PR is reporting solely on the account of the intelligent officer who is embedded in the local community. The word embedded there means the intelligence officer is on ground locally or at worst has eyes and ears there. He is reporting to PR what he saw on ground physically. He was not in the fighter jet counting the bodies. 2. There is no where in the article that PR claimed they spoke with the air force on the attack, neither did any air force personnel said a word in the article. Now, you two have already drawn your swords against the pilots who as a matter of fact did not say a word to PRnews. Logically, you can see why two of you did not understand what you read. The beginning to the end of that article was based on the account of the locally embedded intelligent officer and has nothing to do with the pilots in the fighter jet |

It is painful that these evil men have thrived so much in the north. How iswap and boko haram were allowed to grow to this level is very painful. More painful is the assistance provided to them by the rich and poor in the north. We see the poor helping them transport their arms. We see the poor women giving themselves away for the sexual pleasure of those vampires. It is very painful to note also that among the security personnel, many of them are saboteurs, giving information away and selling arms to them.
It is true that our commander in chief cannot be in the battle field, but we must not forget that he promised to lead the battle frontally. That for me meant that even from the comfort of his home, he should ensure that all within his power is done to wipe away those demons. His promise has appeared to follow the paths of several failed promises made to us by APC before 2015.
