CandyOps:If it is a real trained soldier, you will find it hard to combat him one on one, except you are also a trained person in combat art. |
Trust politicians to take advantage of any slightest opportunity. They will turn this to campaign strategy now. |
yesloaded:This is very unfortunate |
Stevenson20:There maybe an iota of truth here. At least we know that people suffered bad quality fuel in Abuja |
paulolee:*fate not faith in this context |
Almost all the comments here believe the story. All the picture or I don't believe are castigating the army. If ithe story was about army killing terrorist, many will call it audio. Talk of hypocrisy |
dedunji:Civic does not pull, accord does |
Cantonese:"If the airforce has not made a statement or posted images to make us believe, then what is there to believe?" Then the doubt, criticism or disbelieve should be directed to PR and not the air force as you insinuated. Mind you, the air force did not report any news to us and as such we cannot drag them on this. "If the person who gave PRnews the information was not at the location to make the count, how then can we go from mouth to mouth believing anything as news that was released to us?" I still want you to understand something here, on your above statement. Casualties are not reported as attack are currently going on, it is after everything calms down that you count. Now the terrorist camps are located in bushes outside communities, terrorist mingle with the locals, even impose tax sometimes on the farming and fishing activities. As a counter terrorism measure, government agencies have secret agents in this same communities like the one who spoke with PR unofficially. Now the terrorist died in water while escaping, the counting must have been done after the bodies were recovered from the same river the locals have access to, even brought to the community in the presence of everyone. So you can see that, the person MUST not be at the exact location as the bombing was going on to count bodies. The counting is not IMMEDIATELY, infact it could be after days to weeks, when the area of operation is properly searched. My issue here is the unwarranted attempt to blackmail the air force even without any statement from them. Again, even if the the statement was official and it was mentioned that, an intelligent officer embedded in the local community reported so, it may not be totally incorrect, he does not need to be where the bombing was taking place when it was going on, he can access the area and evaluat the damage after everything is over. |
Cantonese:Do you realize that the bombing was in specified areas? The person that gave PRnews the information does not need to be at the location of the bombings. Dead bodies in water could be recoverd in days after someone died so he dose not need to be running after terrorist to know how many have died. As a matter of fact, it could take days again for intelligence to be gathered and not immediately. For sending pictures to whoever send him, how do you know who sent him and if he had submitted the pictures to them? Did PR send him? This is at best an unofficial information to a news agency, of course they always have people that give them unofficial information even in aso rock. And yes, they military do update us on operations and if they do, they clearly state it there with the name of the spokesperson. This is not an official statement from any military source. My point from onset is that, you people are already crucifying the air force even when they have not released any statement. Even if they do, you will still not believe them base on your line of thought here. People just believe the military has not killed or can kill a single terrorist. Why? Even if they release an official statement with pictures attached, people still termed it propaganda and what have you. For the purpose of clarity, my reaction to you is solely based on the condemnation of the air force in this particular news. If you must call any one fake, it must be PR and not the air force who has not told you anything. |
Samade7:I have perfectly answered your question, except that you have a sinister motive. Once more, you are assuming the intelligence officer is a superior officer just to suit your narrative. Nothing of such was said in the news. Again, for over ten years of this insurgency, we have read this kind of news overand over, elections or no elections. So your election angle is again a mere propaganda as far as I am concerned |
Samade7:Yes, I will never accept because you are failing woefully to convince me otherwise. You are trying to question the air force but they did not give any news here. The headline and the body are from PRnews with no air force source quoted. Secondly, you are very myopic about how intelligence works. Does the intelligence officer need to be running with the terrorist to know how many have died in the water? What happened to recoverd dead bodies after some time by the local community in which the intelligence officer is embedded? It is quite difficult to understand how some of you tend to question or criticize news here. At least even if someone is not telling the truth, the way you criticize or question such is very unintelligent |
Samade7:That is the problem. I observe here on nairaland that, people read simple articles but find it difficult to understand. The paragraph is perfectly related. Let me break it down for you. 1.PR is reporting solely on the account of the intelligent officer who is embedded in the local community. The word embedded there means the intelligence officer is on ground locally or at worst has eyes and ears there. He is reporting to PR what he saw on ground physically. He was not in the fighter jet counting the bodies. 2. There is no where in the article that PR claimed they spoke with the air force on the attack, neither did any air force personnel said a word in the article. Now, you two have already drawn your swords against the pilots who as a matter of fact did not say a word to PRnews. Logically, you can see why two of you did not understand what you read. The beginning to the end of that article was based on the account of the locally embedded intelligent officer and has nothing to do with the pilots in the fighter jet |
Samade7:He no actually get sense, that is if he read the below paragraph in the article "An intelligence operative embedded in the local community confirmed that camps and warehouses serving as ISWAP insurgents’ ammunition and firearms were bombed by the aircraft" |
richiemcgold:An intelligence operative embedded in the local community confirmed that camps and warehouses serving as ISWAP insurgents’ ammunition and firearms were bombed by the aircraft. |
Cantonese:Any time you read, pay attention to details. The paragraph below was in the news, that is where PR got the numbers. Mind you, the air force did not tell you anything concerning the attack according to the news. "An intelligence operative embedded in the local community confirmed that camps and warehouses serving as ISWAP insurgents’ ammunition and firearms were bombed by the aircraft" |
300whitewolves:You may have a big problem in your relationship (s) if you continue like this. You first started with the attitude of a thing you are accusing her of. She conceived an idea of beads, told, and lastly got it. All this while, you are irritated but didn't come out plainly to inform her. You choose to be neither here or there with her on the topic. This is a very bad trait in relationship. Kindly work on it. |
Neutrality:How is the inflation in our economy Dongotes fault? He cannot produce to market at a loss in the name of cheapness. He has salaries to pay, running cost and all. Do you mean Dangote is the one that is producing all the other costly things in the market. Compare a tuber of yam now and a year ago. Everything is costly and is no fault of Dangote |
Truthisunique3:Stop the misinformation. How many of them are rich in the north to afford foreign rice? The most poor people are in the north. Some can't even afford locally milled rice with stones, let alone foreign rice. |
OdumegwuOjukwu:Regardless of how peace will come to the people in the northeast and else where, we don't care. His Fulani brothers are also suffering it afterall. We make jest of Buhari on how his own state is a haven for bandits. Are they not Fulani? Zamfara, Sokoto just name it. We want peace, period |
tachusta:This question is dumb except if you didn't read the story. "he said. A domestic intelligence operative working with locals told PRNigeria that scores of terrorists were killed during the airstrikes" |
Subsea101:The problem is that, most of you don't understand what you are reading if you read at all, or you read such news with any semblance of success from government with a very biased mind. Part of the below excerpt was clearly in the story; he said. A domestic intelligence operative working with locals told PRNigeria that scores of terrorists were killed during the airstrikes. |
Well, he has the resources to do that, many here will do same given the opportunity. I am surprised he took to road in the first place |
Base on your story, you have a very good heart. Try to be careful with your parents, do not fight them, just continue doing the right thing. If it were really comfortable for you, I would have suggested you bring back your aunty's son as well. Just keep with the good deeds, one day your parents will come back to their senses |
oglalasioux:okay then |
Then build the road once and for all. What is the point in going through the circle of destroying shanties, rebuilding them, and destroying again? |
owobokiri:Upset when the same Abuja you mentioned are the biggest customer of Innoson? Innocent has made this clear on several occasion but most of you will not listen. Soludo cannot ever buy up to a quarter of what the FG has bought from Innoson so far. Do not try to create an imaginary enemy when there is none |
Xwizard:Why not adopt positions she cannot be able to lay her hands on your neck |
Judolisco:The difference is there and I did not lie. It is just that I am not bias ethnically or religiously. I said it again, if Jonathan is the president now, Nigeria most likely would have collapse totally. He had the highest earnings in crude of all time and we lived below poverty line. What would have happened if he continued during the total collapse of oil prices? We were suppose to live far better than how we lived. Buhari is a failure but Jonathan is bigger failure considering the circumstances within which they ruled |
JosephXavier:He told you the bitter truth. That is what is obtainable in our political space regardless of what you think. Nobody will call you to come and take the presidency, you MUST build alliances. It looks as though you know little about politics when you asked who Buhari consulted. Firstly, Buhari had a very strong political base prior to his alliance with Tinubu, who himself was strong. Buhari had already challenged the then legendary powerful rigging machinery of PDP almost to a stand still before joining forces later on. The truth is, no politician of the south east extraction has the political machinery Buhari or Tinubu had currently. Again, they will be called names like unity beggars, caliphate worshippers etc by the same igbos if they try to form alliance with the hausas. Igbos and Yorubas are also Cat and Rat. Without an alliance of two of the three major tribes we have, it will be difficult for one to produce a president at the polls. That is the sad reality. |
Judolisco:Which useless vindication? I doubt if Nigeria would have even existed by now if Jonathan was still in power. With the high revenue generated during his tenure and the way he mismanaged everything is an indication to the fact. Like Buhari, Jonathan is even a bigger failure if you consider the circumstances surrounding their reigns without bias. |
Was the meeting permitted by PDP's owner, Mr Wike? If not, they are wasting their time. Wike will lead his gang of governors to scatter every plan |
Dikaveli:What are the prices of those in USA, Canada, UK that we and the Hatitians are scrambling to relocate to? Maybe when you answer, you will see the reason why relocating to Nigerian maybe more favorable to them. |
