udemzy_udex: its illegal to drive a car without an insurance cover,at least a third party insurance will do.thats general knowlegde in 1st world countries but in africa is last thing to think off i here that back in home zimbabwe the police are now very stricty on it, the law has been always there but the police, never policed it but now there ever busy cracking uninsured cars, through the toll gates and road blocks they created, all the necesary paper have a part that is supposed to displayed on the left corner of the window screen |
Siena: Urrrm, you can't actually seize a car that ran into yours, at least not in the UK. And if you sold a car to recoup your costs (assuming the other driver wasn't insured) you'll be liable for theft. There's a lot involved in seizing, and disposing of a car, lots of legal process to go through.UK is out the picture in that scenario that scenario is a common one in african countries becoz the police wont even ask for insurance most likely they will just ask for the drivers licence, the rest the two drivers have to sort out themselves |
kc007: @ ZIM DRILL, some of us here see the insurance u're talking about as something meant for peoople @ upper class. Economy hasn't been friendly either. You know how u sweat it out b/4 raising fund to acquire some these used cars, making the paper insurance licensing office give us the priority for sake of not to be disturbed by the police.i get what you mean but it is poor insurance education to people, becoz whether upper class on not if someone crashes in your car and them being at faulty you would want car fixed by them right most peope are ignorant or not educated on that basic simple of paying for repairs for the car you have damaged, they wont be chasing of each other etc, the insurance companies will deal with each other so even yourself being poor you still want someone to pay for damages to your car whether the other part think that your car is a tin, still s/he has to pay damage to your tin |
okeyz: good day guys , I have a Honda pilot 2004 model, I notice any time I am on speed if I brake a little bit , I will start noticing vibrations in the front wheels, its so bad especially when I am on a smooth road, please what is the cause of this and how can it be remedied thankscheck your brake disc and pads |
kc007: This dude hit my audi a4 that's not up to 2months old as he approached a traffic where i was, with infinity jeep QX45 claiming the vehicle has faulty braky, no scratch b/4 the incident. The bumper was pushed 4ward by maybe an inch, the boot was forced open, condeming the panel where the lock is & denting the boot cover. He claimed he's a student, that the vehicle belongs to his neighbour & there's no kobo in his pocket, meaning i'll bear the cost in addition of pains of seeing my car damaged. At 1st I seized his BB but gave it to him after he wanted to tell me story of his life. Please if u're in my shoes, how would u feel & what would u've done?thats the reason here in the 1st world you require insurance for your car to be on the road or you the driver be insured to drive whatever car you want to drive if it was me i wouldnt car that he is a stdent i was going to seize the car he was driving then it would be him and the owner of the car to sort it out while i wait for monies for repairs, of not will sell the car to foot my bill |
pappilo: So cars/trucks also have biometrics.... Only in Naija... American wonderwanted to ask the same thing but don't know what made me not ask I guess they don't know the meaning of the word BIOMETRIC may be they wanted to say computerized |
lonelydora: I enjoy auto trans within town, and manual trans when travelling. I'm a registered member of Honda Forum on the internet, so I ask questions there before going to my mechanic. Infact, my mechanic baffles when I tell him whAt and whAt to change for me.thats the approach most here do it the other way round ask niaraland car talk section instead of googling, which gives you a bigger questioning/researching base than few thousand here |
Lexusgs: You should have read between the lines, my answer was of a sarcastic nature !!!!i am a mechanic and an auto eletrician havent got time to read between the lines |
Altruist: pls i nid help,i bot a bus jst of recent nd its cosuming fuel more than normal.its bn use 4 town service nd my driver is tellin me 2 change d said 2 b bad electric carburator 2 manual.pls wat shuld i do.do you have the figures from the manufacture the average MPG? you should use those figures and poor MPG can be to one's driving, overloading (which is daily bread in most african countries)poor maintenance Even poor quality fuel give very poor MPGs |
ba_aliyah: For me it is choice, if you like manual trans stick to it,I drive the two perfectly and will never look down on a manual car. I never had problems with auto tyranny. Car has many components, transmission is just one of them,if u take care of ur car u wont have serious headache. Imagine Ikenna driving an auto trans car he is not likely to have problem,so also, many people. Our auto technicians, fake parts andso the question is, are auto parts dealers selling sub standard items? and are people not learning fro other people's mistake eg one ATF is sub standard and motorist pass on the infor to one another until the manufacturer sees that people nolonger by the product |
Ikenna351: @ ZIM DRILL,so tell me what is the ratio auto to manual on average |
based on what i have observed here it seems like automatics are the most common type of transmission and on average poor trained or self taught mechanics are damaging these gearbox through trail and era. Most cars seems like are comming from a america, which favours automatic transmission that the manual one, i know that some prefer america simply becoz there is no need to convert the dashboard and steering wheel but why not get from european countries that are right handed and have manual transmission you hear the mechanics blaming the ECU for a none ECU issue, what do you expect when you get an automatics s/he has 2 ECUs to deal with and more sensors to deal with, have read phrase like "the ECU is powerfull or less powerfull" "changing from single to double" "changing from 14 to 10 pin " "changing from ECU based to carburrtor" or changing from automatic to manual a manual would be better to deal with for such poor trained and self taught |
tpacalipse: Actually, D has not been flashing on the dashboard. If u are referring to the ATF, I still checked it today and seemed alright, but if it is the gear oil in the axle, I checked last three months ago.when was the oil last changed ? |
tpacalipse: Guys I will be glad if I can find solution to this problem here.the D flashing on the dashboard ? also when did you check the gearbox oil level |
Lexusgs: Automatic wiper module, trying to wipe the underneath of your car clean !!!!!!they come one when he passes a pool of water not when few drops drop from the above meaning there is a naked wire being made to complete a circuit, water being the conductor |
ibrodex: i stay at ojuelegba.you are not really telling us the problem with car you are allover the place tell us what the car is doing ? |
kakameks: What could be the cause of fluctuating headlights, slow wiper speed especially when the air condition is on. My battery can not stay for more than two days in the car without discharging to the point that it cannot start the car, i have been searching for what drains the battery to no avail, i have changed my alternator (tokunbo) yet the problem is still there. My battery is a 75AH battery sealed type, could the problem be from there? i am considering increasing the engine idle rev to about 1000rpm or slightly higher to compensate but am extremely reluctant in doing this.why did you go for the alternator instead starting with battery its self, is the AC factory fitted ? it seems like there is too much load |

Lexusgs: @ ZIM DRILL - I have watched such videos many times over. My case in- point is that, whatever got cleaned by terraclean either the catalytic converter, blocked injectors or other stated reasons for getting the P0420 CODE. After my vehicles got cleaned, the codes no longer appeared on the ECU.that system cleans carbon deposits |

Stylz69: Though not a honda but a similar thing happened to my toyota. Gave it to a mechanic to repair my brakes and he returned with a huge bill telling me he 'serviced' my gearbox; he drained the ATF and filled it with LUBCON instead of the toyota Type IV. Two weeks later my transmission began to slip and the gearbox finally packed up. I called the mechanic and he said it will cost 30k to repair; i gladly paid, still the gearbox died. I finally had to change the gearbox, however a few weeks later i began experiencing hard shifting from the gearbox. Mechanic said it was the gearbox being too powerful, another said it was the engine mounting...finally visited a garage and got the vehicle scanned. It threw up an error code relating to my shift solenoid. I quickly 'googled' it and found out there was a recall on toyota vehicles experiencing that fault and it was a 'brainbox' fault. However, the person who scanned it said that was academic and said the gearbox had to be stripped down and the solenoid changed. I paid for the scan and drove off to Apo, bought a new brainbox, put it in...PROBLEM SOLVED!!why did you agree to pay for something you didnt ask him to do ? |
the car should charge its self when driving if the battery can not hold charge get a new battery |
fabulous07: Please I nid helpi guess you are waiting for us to ask you what type of help do you need and the problem you have myself i havent got that time |
Sly-jay:come one such thing you can google but you are lucky today i got the patience http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruise_control |
Sly-jay:thats normal when cruise is on and if you step on the brakes it disengages the cruise control then if you press the cruise control again it engages and it start to accelerate to the previous cruise speed you were doing |
inze: Any effect on the engine? because it seems to have been lying there for a long time. just found out.yes im terms of fuel consumption |
davolisticdavo: @ zim drill thanks so much. pls do u've a workshop in lagnope am in UK |
Lexusgs430: Does your car have cruise control? If yes, you probably have accidentally engaged it.cruise wont show if there is no cruise control https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8YFLzskDkU |
Ikenna351: Your BSI unit controls all the electronics, switches and all ECUs in that car, includinding the engine ECU. The BSI unit is the brain of that car. It's even more important than your engine ECU.i hate the BSI unit simple problems will need resetting |
linktel: Hello Allthis how i do when checking car prices though i use the internet on sites like ebays autorader and gumtree , i check the car i want and see the average price based on specification am looking for, anything with the specification i want but with less price makes me question, why the price is so low next step it is either to contact seller or skip it |
