Until Dino Melaye expresses regret for the mess of a public life he has lived so far this one is also a mess. Dino needs repentance!! He has cheated and ridden roughshod on his people! The road that passes through his Senatorial Constituency is the shortest route by road to the Federal Capital Abuja from Lagos and the SW of Nigeria. The traffic to Abuja from everywhere in Nigeria is heavy for obvious reasons. Imagine how much economic improvement and exposure that fact would have brought to that environment if the road had been passable in the last twenty years plus many of which when he was the National Assembly legislator representing folks who live in and are indigenous to that corridor! Dino Melaye cared little about that. Nigerians who travel to Abuja by road from Lagos and the SW do a circuitous tour through EKITI or put up with the very long stretch through Akure to Okene when the use of Osogbo-Ila-Isanlu-Ayetoro Gbeke- Mopa- Kabba corridor is sure to shave off hours in the journey. The internet is awash with the news of what he has done so far with his lack lustre life and tenure as a Senator and Representative of his people. Anyway, the people are complicit for condoning him. They did not recall him from the Senate and he almost won another term!

The Nigerian who, under the force of arms, by a Nigerian policeman is made to part with his money is a victim of armed robbery. The armed robber is the Nigerian policeman who should face the music but it is unfortunate that he is in cahoots with the police high command who won’t lift a finger to prosecute the Nigerian policeman armed robber!

This matter, viewed from the perspective of good governance should have Gbenga Daniel in the messiest part of the soak-away pit of the rest-room of Ogun State politics. He was about the worst Governor of Ogun State. Unfortunately Nigerians have a short memory and good governance means little to them!

Since the days of the rabble rouser Aregbesola who almost scattered Osun State with the Hijab policy and others like it that polarised the citizenry along religious fault lines it has defied logic what Muslims of his persuasion are really about when it is absolutely by choice of the individual which schools to attend. Why must an individual choose to attend a school with Christian orientation and insist on using Hijab there? Is that peaceful? Can a Christian choose to attend a school with a Muslim orientation and choose not to wear the Hijab? Most probably not! That would put her life at risk! Muslims might find the posers distasteful but they signpost the truth of the matter!
