In this life, I have decided not to conquer hate with love. Hate will only be conquered by more Hate.
What awaits them very soon will be very terrible. You can't wage a Jihad against the Igbo nation and go free. Nowhere in history has hatred overcome love. All wars end up at the round table where love prevails. Pause and think very, very deeply and you will see that what gains Ndigbo have made within Nigerian power equation after the civil war ended is fast getting eroded with the disconnect and distrust engendered by the modus for Biafran agitation. For a sampler, Ihejirika might for a very long time to come be the only trusted South Easterner to be NA Chief of Staff for understandable strategic reasons. Spread love not hatred. |

zombieHUNTER: In UK referendum means referendum But in northern Nigeria it means war Why is that? Have you considered the tendency over decades to look down on Northerners and call them fools, illiterates and societal dregs? An objective and wholistic assessment of the matter will disclose that when the polity became dangerously heated up by Biafran agitation Northern youths in response gave the 1/10 declaration. Spread love not hatred. The right to self determination is better driven by rational considerations than hate speeches. |

farem: FG bars foreign professionals without Nigeria certification ON August 2, 20178:00 PM/IN News/ BY Adekunle / Comments –Declares state of emergency on science and technology —Gives 3-yr tax rebate to pioneer industries in Nigeria By Johnbosco Agbakwuru ABUJA – THE Federal Executive Council, FEC, Wednesday approved a new policy that for any foreign professionals to practice in Nigeria, they have to be registered and certified by all the necessary regulatory bodies.
This is as the Federal Government has declared a state of emergency on science and technology to boost technological acquisition for the industrial growth of the country. Meantime, to attract foreign industries, the Federal Executive Council has approved tax rebate which will serve as an incentive for pioneer industries operating in Nigeria. Briefing State House Correspondents after weekly FEC meeting at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa Abuja, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu said, “We agreed that from now on, any person who wants to practice any profession that has anything to do with science, engineering and technology, medical doctors, accountants, quantity surveyors just to mention but a few, that first they have to be certified by appropriate regulatory bodies in Nigeria.” The Minister said that FEC in its deliberations approved policy that will help to change the direction that will be taken as a nation, a direction that will be very useful in helping to start looking inwards to produce the things that the country needs as against depending on outside to import our requirements. He said, “Some of the highlights will involve where we have bulk purchases major items that will bring into the country those who normally would have supplied from outside the country will now come to Nigeria and establish their factories to produce in Nigeria. “By doing so, they will offer job opportunities to our people, tax will be paid to government, wealth will be created and most importantly, Nigeria will now acquire the necessary technology that will help us build capacity. “This is very important in our building our local capacity. There are so many areas that this new policy has coved because the aim of this new policy is to make sure that in the next ten years, Nigeria firms will be in a position to carry out very complex jobs. A sort of jobs that we don’t currently have the expertise to do in the country. “And for such jobs, we will rely on foreign expertise and foreign firms for now but when they come, they have to work with Nigerian firms so that these Nigerian firms will understudy them and this will be from the conception to the commissioning. “That is the only way that we can hope to acquire to acquire the necessary technology to build our local capacity because our aim is like in the next ten years like I said we will be able to have own domestic firms, Nigerian firms to carry out all these jobs. “And in about 20 years, we want to see Nigerian firms competing with the very best in the world. “So, the Federal Executive Council, accepted to declare a state of emergency for science and technology and this is very important because even the economic recovery and growth plan 2018 to 2020 recognizes the cardinal place of science and technology in driving this recovery and growth plan of government. “We are not looking for transfer of technology because we know it will not happen, what we are looking for is acquisition of technology and we are interested in building our own capacity. “We are convinced that we can do this and we believe that with the approval given to this policy once implemented, we will be in a position to acquire technology. “This policy is a very comprehensive policy. We will pay a lot of attention to training. We will make sure that we have all the artisans we need, all the technicians that we need so that once somebody is building a house, once you get up to finishing of that house, you are most likely going to bring people from outside country. Many of them come from our neighbouring countries. This we will not allow to continue. So we want to build the requisite manpower. “We will also use the Ministry of Interior to help us with a new classification in our immigration policy. Those areas that we lack expertise as of now, we will use that classification to bring in those who have such expertise particularly from African countries. “Then we will also be working closely with Nigerians in the Diaspora because many Nigerians outside the country have a lot of skills which we need at this time particularly in order to implement this policy, we will be working with them.” FG approves tax rebate for pioneer industries Also briefing journalists, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enalema said government has approved tax rebate for pioneer industry to establish in the country, noting that the policy was to serve as an incentive to attract new investors. The Minister said, “FEC approved a memorandum that was presented to amend the list of pioneer industries and products that will enjoy pioneer status going forward. “As many of you know the pioneer incentive scheme is governed by ye Industrial Development Income Tax Relief Act and the whole purpose is to give tax holidays to industries we consider pioneer. “Pioneer doesn’t mean that they are new it only means that they are not yet mature, we want those industries to grow. We want to attract investment in them and you will find that this covers a wide range of industries and those tax holidays ranges from three to five years. “The pioneer list was last reviewed by the Federal Executive Council in 2006, so you could see that this was long overdue. “On doing the review, special attention was paid to the ERGP to capture the current realities that will help to implement the plan to make sure we attract the kind of investment, industries and players that will help to implement and realize our objectives in the ERGP. “I should also point out that there was multi stakeholder engagement, private and public sector in arriving at the industries that will be included in the pioneer incentive scheme. “In terms of the recommendations approved by FEC today: we have tried to remove all ambiguities in the definition of industries by reclassifying industries according to the international standard in industrial classification which is the global standard which is also the standard that is used by the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics. “The other thing we also did is to agree that the pioneer list will be reviewed regularly every two years, biannually so that just that if things come up, we live in a fast changing world and we are being responsive to our world. In the case of additions to the list they will be effected immediately, for deletion of industries that we consider mature there will be a three year window that will be allowed for those that are already investing in that industry that were enjoying pioneer status to carry on till the end of that three year period. “Against this backdrop, we then approved 27 industries that were recommended for addition to the pioneer list today. “We also recommended and it was accepted by the Council that mineral oil prospecting which is governed by the Petroleum Profit Tax should not be part of the pioneer industries list which is really industries governed by the Companies Income Tax Act. “It was also accepted that given the success we have achieved in cement which are now net exporters, maybe that is an industry which we could say that we are now where we want to be in terms of maturity even though there is still a lot of scope for the application and the use of cement and you know that will continue. We already have critical mass in cement “The scheme will ensure that it will not deprive us of revenue. It is an incentive to make people enter your market, new enter industries, invest more for people who are already here. It will increase our tax base over time.” FEC Approves 27 New Industries For Pioneer Status The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved 27 new industries and products to enter into the pioneer status to give tax holidays to them for three years, to enable them to grow and expand investments. Kazim88: From: Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has disclosed that the North’s over dependence on what is coming from the centre is the source of fear by the region over the agitation of restructuring by the North. “This over dependence on allocation from the centre must stop if we are to progress. We have the population, we have both human and material resources; but we must have the political will to do the right thing” he added. Masari made the disclosure, yesterday, while launching the production of PVC Pipes by AMPRI GLOBAL Limited at their production sites in Kankia, Katsina State. He noted that the only way out was through the promotion of medium and small scale businesses to provide revenue for both the state and local governments and generate employment for the youth to boost their economic status.
According to the governor the Kankia Metal Works was leased to the AMPRI GLOBAL Limited in order to put machineries provided at the site to proper use and ease the government wasteful spending in maintaining the facility even though it was not operating. In a remark, the state commissioner of commerce, industry and tourism, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf said with the commencement of production of PVC by the company it had fully completed its full package of production lines. He assured the people of the state that the present administration was committed to the resuscitation of additional industries and establishment of new ones in the state through partnership with prospective investors.
http://www.peoplesdailyng.com/why-north-fears-restructuring-gov-masari/ Very few States there are now who are not dependent on Federal allocation in a manner not healthy for their viability . That is real issue here. God created all (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western #stoplookingdownonnortherners |
Politics › Is This True About Gov. Aregbesola Of State Of Osun? by zoedew(op): 2:51pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
Osun State: Time To Rupture The Vultures. ...by Remi Oyeyemi
"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." - Abraham Lincoln.
There is no longer any doubt about the fact that the last Seven years in Osun State under Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola have been the years of the locust. They have been the years of rapacity. They have been the years of predation. They have been the years of plunder. They have been the years of parsimony. They have been the years of avidity. Yes, the last seven years in Osun State have been the years of the vultures.
The vultures, let loose by Bourdillon, came, saw and devastated. They came to desecrate, desolate and despoil our land. They came to ravage, raze and ruin our land. They plundered, pillaged and preyed on our people. They have been cold, cunning and calculating. They have been merciless, mean and mingy.
In their trails, comes a crescendo of cloudy dalliance of deliquescent dusts, fouling up our land with its attendant miseries. Yes, miseries of monumental proportions. The psyche of our people were pulverized. Their self respect ripped into ravels. Their dignity mutated into unbearable opprobrium. Their hopes hopped into holes. Their aspirations, discounted.
It has been a season of anomie. It has been a season of sadness all-round. Misery walked our streets in adumbrated regalia of progressivism. Deceit, deception and duplicity became a fundamental official forms of functionality. "Ònà baba ònà" became the metaphor for the unmitigated flogging of our people. It metaphorically encapsulated the destruction of our children's education.
Our social milieu became contaminated. Our religious harmony driven into dissonance. Unnecessary tension was generated by a three-quarter-long trouser wearing fundamentalist who sees himself as all knowing. He is stubborn, incorrigible, adamant and recalcitrant. He is obnoxiously arrogant, fatuously foppish and crudely condescending. All these on questionable vision and amoebic ideas that have done more damage to our State, our people and our future.
A man died for the inability to afford a N450.00 medication for asthma because he did not get paid his wages. Teachers were dropping dead in front of their students as a result of hunger deriving from lack of wages. Yet, this confused anchor of misery, called Governor, gallivant all over, revelling in odious glory of white elephant projects dressed in the garb of "educational infrastructure developments." A convenient conveyor cincture to loot our state and impoverish our land, our children and our future.
Calling himself an Awoist, a monumental, awe-inspiring, grand insult and blasphemy to the memory of the Great Sage, Obafemi Awolowo, he looked the other way as Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) was closed down, showing no concern or any sense of urgency whatsoever. Along with the obnoxious Apostle of "Constituted Authority," they allow our children to wallow in unmitigated frustration and irritation.
When Aregbesola assumed office as the Governor of Osun State, the performance of our children at WAEC/NECO examination came up as 9th out of 36 states. Today, our State, our children, are at the rung of the ladder in 29th position. Yet, he shamelessly claims that Education in Osun State has improved under him. Unless you're gifted with a vacuous intellect, or a perfect study in concentrated sadism, failures such as this could not, under any circumstance, be equated with success or progress.
Deprived of appropriate and proportional sense of History, he blew across our land, our State, our milieu, like wrathful whirlwind sweeping down everything precious to us. He destroyed great schools with great traditions and tantalizing trajectories. He turned our schools into caricatures. Our schools, our children and our future became a laughing stock.
Our children now walk the streets and are losing interest in schooling. The teachers have lost motivation in teaching and failures have evidently ensued. Civil servants have been turned into beggars, their dignity driven down the drain. Pensioners who worked all their lives, tired, fatigued and exhausted were treated as goats, repeatedly humiliated. Many of them have died of curable illnesses as a result of non-payment of their entitlements.
Yet, all the Bourdillon sponsored contractors are reportedly getting paid. They take our money to Lagos while our people are dying of hunger. Aregbesola flaunts constructed roads as his "great achievement," but he forgot that good roads could only be useful for the living not those pummeled to death by hunger resulting from lack of wages.
In their hang-outs in Lagos, in their revelries, where they spend all the money scooped from our treasury, our State, our people, our children, they flagrantly and blatantly exude odious and reeking arrogance. In their debauchery, they engage in twisted temerity, offensive effrontery, damning audacity and abhorrent boldness to make jest of our people and our children, referring to our State as "Osungo"! (Osun State is foolish or Osun People are foolish).
Aregbesola has bankrupted our State. He has bankrupted our people and their businesses. He is trying hard to foreclose the future of our children. There is misery all over the place. There is pain, agony and gnashing of teeth all over the land. Well, when a tragedy transcends weeping, you surrender to giddy laughter.
But while we are at it, 2018 is around the corner. It is time to rupture the vultures. It is time to put an end to our misery. It is time to free our land. It is time to free our State. It is time to free our children and their future. It is time to free our people. It is time to free ourselves.
Our people in Osun State must remember that voting is not enough. We must be prepared to guide and guard our votes. We must be prepared for all the antics of the "Amunisin", yes, the enslavers. We must be ready to meet them determination for determination, plan for plan, skill for skill, tactic for tactic and strategy for strategy.
We must devise a means to frustrate the use of State apparatus to rig the election. We must be prepared to make it a lifetime regret for anyone or government official attempting to rig the election. We must be ahead of all collaborators. We must send a message that WE ARE THE PEOPLE. And that true power in a democracy resides with us. It is time to rupture the vultures!
"In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility – I welcome it.” |

For me this is not about a blame-game but an x-ray of the scenario The Senate sought to put up. Speaking for myself, I see nothing untoward in MTN repatriating its profit to SA so long as it is done legally. So painful to see that resources from a juicy emerging telecoms market that NIGERIA is has ended up elsewhere due to the corrupt and unpatriotic acts of our public servants in collusion with the Senators now crying over split milk. To think that MTEL had base stations in the 774 Local Government Headquarters location of Nigeria even when MTN was yet to have a square inch of land to itself! olajay86: http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/07/senate-blasts-mtn-for-moving-14bn-out.html
The Senate on Thursday said there was a capital flight of $13.92 billion by MTN Nigeria between 2006 and 2016.
Senate confirmation was sequel to the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions on the unscrupulous violation of the foreign exchange policy of the country by MTN Nigeria.
The senate report reads in part: “No doubt there is a disturbing evidence of Foreign exchange hemorrhage in Nigeria especially in this period of recession.
“MTN Nigeria for instance repatriated over $1.3 billion annually since 2006, or $13.92 billion between 2006 and 2016.
“Just for one company, the phenomenon constitutes a huge outflow that could pose challenges for Foreign exchange and National monetary stability”.
The Senate also directed the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to sanction Stanbic IBTC for improper documentation in respect of capital repatriation and loan repayment amounting to $388 million and $199 million respectively. Medicine after death! Where were they when MTN in collabo with corrupt and unpatriotic public servants kept MTEL prostrate for MTN to dig in? All we got in return was killings of Nigerians in SA. STANBIC-IBTC plus those unpatriotic and corrupt deserve the big stick. |
