It depends on what u want, whether u are in it for meat or for eggs
Layers will take u 20weeks to start laying eggs and broilers will take 2months+ to hit the market, in any case, do ur research well and decide based on what u can really manage. Farmtech will advice U better based on experience
pls how can i make contact wit farmtech?
For now i think i wuld start with broilers. I need mentorship. Advice on how to get started will be appreciated.

Pavore9: lf u grow a good variety & process into stone-free, clean grains, l tell u the market won't be a problem.
That's encouraging cos many people in Enugu prefer the foreign type. I guess your market was in anambra.

Once u have a good product, u will sell! U can bag it in 10Kgs & sell directly to groups e.g civil servants, C.W.O.
Re: Anambra Farmers, Let's Meet Here by Pavore9: 7:36pm On Aug 11, 2014
@Kcinho, like l posted earlier l would prefer engaging in harvest services, that is an untapped section in rice farming. u work all year round as farmers are in high demand for such services as it is not easy paying and cooking for manual labourers.

..
Buchika said the problem is in the peeling.
may be he just want to sell without processing which I believe he can still make profit if he followed the rules and lives close to the farm.
Re: Anambra Farmers, Let's Meet Here by Buchika: 9:29pm On Aug 11, 2014
Pavore9: So with about N750K, l can own a harvester, thresher & a winnower, offering harvest services across rice growing areas of lgbariam, Oba ofemili, Omor, Achalla, Omasi etc No farmer can complain of harvesting, threshing & winnowing a chain for N900!
you got me thinking.

ps5:

Snail Farming in Nigeria is quite lucrative, and many
Nigerians are getting into this business involving snail
farming. Apart from the point that snail farm is all to
easy to manage, snail farming doesn't require much
technicalities as well as capital as snails can simply be
picked around for that take-off.

The mobile cassava processing mobile unit is available in rivers state & Osun state. joint project by shell, Dutch company & rivers state. They buy any amount of cassava that you have by driving the mobile processing unit to your farm , weigh all your cassava, pay you & start processing on your farm after which they move out.
