It doesn't work that way. Why would you assume she extorts from her daughter's father and his family!

The worst thing you can do to a woman is take her child away from her especially one she bonded with from age 0 to 2. Please stop being biased and think for a second how this lady might really feel.

If she happens to be your sister, will you dismissingly tell her to move on with her life because children belong to their daddy?

every story has two sides and as far as i'm concerned i have only heard one, secondly the child does not belong to only you,it belongs to the father and the mother in that order as Africans,so please dont think uk law applies in nigeria.if you have a problem with his family,i advice you go and mend fences not come online
Guy wetin u dey yan for Chrissakes? Do you know that abortion is a crime in Nigeria and kidnapping a bigger crime? Have you diligently analysed the legal implication of this particular case before you come here to tell us about some ridiculous African culture? #SMH#

how did she manage to pass through airport security?

How hard can it be if she had the kids documents and papers! Remember she stole them. And they would possibly have the same surname. It wouldn't be hard to pass through security as you think. The kid is really her grandchild and that can be proven. Securities don't go around everyday suspecting foul play.

why you guys like going to conclusion before hearing the whole story. let assumed he actually ask her to aborted the child but she refuse that does stop him from being the child father. and after 2 years he realise his mistake and want to take responsible and for some reasons he can't stay in the uk. you guys should know he has zero chance of winning a Child custody in UK because he has to proof that Nigeria is better environment for the child to grow than UK and the term ‘parental responsibility’ is used to describe all the rights and duties that parents have towards their children, for example, in making choices regarding:
Their education
Choice of religion or atheism
Acceptance or refusal of medical treatment

What will happens in the court room?

If he go to court he will need to explain his reasons for wanting custody. This is done in front of a ‘family panel’, which usually consists of three magistrates.

The magistrates will ask each parent questions about why you want custody and what your proposed arrangements would be. They will ask about how you will care for and provide for the child.

What will the solicitors ask me?

The solicitors for the other parent can ask questions about his lifestyle, finances, home arrangements, etc. They may also bring up any potential problems, such as violence, neglect or poor communication.

A court welfare officer may be appointed to assess the family home life (which will be in Nigeria) and provide a report to the family panel on how he care and interact with the child. They may also speak to the child to learn where they would like to live and why.

If he can't reach an agreement, the courts can make orders under Section 8 of the Children Act 1989. It is always advisable to have representation in court since appeals to the court are very expensive if something goes wrong on the day. Getting it right the first time with a specialist solicitor can save you time and money in the long run.
And your point is? So the right thing to do is to kidnap the child? You claim to know court proceedings but you aint better than a novice.

In the similar rational of reasoning, why would you also assume she is saying the truth? In fact, the granny should sue her for name defamation.

the paternal grandfather died long time ago around 2005

shes the one that has trained all her children to this level

Story is not adding up. How come she cannot name the father and grandmother? How come she does not know their Nigeria address or relatives? How is it that her own family are not involved? And how did the grandmother get on the plane with the child? Just like that?

did you read all her tweets at all?

Mistake?

You mean the child fell into their luggage with birth certificate intact and they unknowingly ferried her to nigeria?

Don't support bad thing because you know the family involved. The girl has people who know her too. If everyone starts by saying " I know this family let me side them",
then justice can't be done.

Why will someone seperate a 2yr old from her mother?

He's the father and should have a part in her life too. Which is why a fair court should try and decide for them instead of one person going about it the wrong way.

Since you have info abt the family in question, be kind enough to tell them to go about things the right way. The grandmother's actions are despicable and evil. Where was she when the son refused to be responsible for the child? Her actions are inexcusable. Disgusting set of peeps.

For the lady in question to pour her heart out on social media goes to show she isn't just looking for sympathy or try to smudge his name. She probably knows some people will doubt her story and possibly even call her names but at this point I think this is the only way she feels she get her baby back no matter how messy it gets.

Whatever his story, whatever his reasons are does not excuse the fact that his mum kidnapping this baby without her mother's consent is wrong. I'm looking out to see holes in her story, but so far I haven't seen any.

Growing babies need their mum.

Even in Naija court custody has to be given to you before you take a child into custody. Kidnapping is a crime anywhere in the world. The child will be very sad as she doesn't know the strangers.
