You're still dreaming. You better wake up. And you think the Nigeria court will grant them such a request, as if Nigeria does not have her own system. The parties involve are Nigerians. So, the case is now a Nigeria matter.

donedy:

You're gullible; that's why you jumped to conclusion to place guilty verdict on the granny. You need enlightenment. You better hug transformer because that ofe_manu won't see the baby again.

SMH. PLEASE STOP ALREADY. She needs enlightenment? You have the balls to say that when you clearly are advocating kidnapping. A crime that in Nigeria is treated almost like murder is treated. Many people in Nigeria support the death penalty for kidnapping and more importantly it is a criminal offense in Nigeria. The problem though with you Nigerians, yes I said "YOU NIGERIANS" is that you guys have no respect for the law. Lawlessness is a way of life for you. Disobedience and uncivilized behavior is applauded and tradition and culture are thrown in when people stubbornly want to justify their vile behavior. There is one federal republic of nigeria and one constitution. It makes allowances for certain traditions but not to help you carry your ignorance to a foreign country and run back to Nigeria were people like you who help hoard criminals and keep Nigeria a shit hole abound. I keep telling people that Nigeria's problem is largely the people and not the government. If it was the government then she would kidnap that child and stay in a different city. She ran to Nigeria because she knows that most people will turn a blind eye to this horrible thing. I hope they smoke her out like a rat and make her an example of her. Quite frankly I am tired of people thumbing their noses at Nigerian law as if these are mere suggestions and not the LAW OF THE LAND. This woman has broken the law in at least two countries and she will have to answer for it.

All these people shouting UK law and other emotional crap are just wasting their time.
The moment the granny left the UK and touched on Nigerian soil, the UK govt cannot touch her.
What temmy should do is to get the address of the granny, get a good lawyer in Nigeria and prosecute them in Nigeria.
Hopefully, she get her kids back.

Why would I sympathize with her, while you have already placed guilty verdict on the old lady? If the girl is hardworking and responsible as you claim, she should have reported the issue to the issue to the authority instead defaming people online. She should even have utilized various organization as help. She knew she has no case. First, I don't believe her words a bit. The story is shady.

Based on my analysis, she might have lost custody of the baby and then decide to come online and solicit for sympathy when she found out that the granny will be taking the baby to Nigeria. To me, that seems like what happen. There is no way the granny could have left UK, with the bay, that easily. More over, she was with the girl.

Stop talking shyt! She is in contact with the authorities plus she also has to spread the news so those who may know or see the grandmothet can help in having her child returned. Bloody mumu!

Even though it's not my child my heart is heavy for temmy. When I found out she had a child when I first met her I was shocked because I couldn't believe how she managed to take care of a child and still go to uni at such a young age but she did. I don't want to say too much because I dont want to reveal myself but I am going to make sure to contact every newspaper I can think of and hope to God they can help spread it. If they can report news on how a child was refused to join a school because he travelled to Sierra Leaone, they should be able to report this.

A million thanks to you for saying this. From her tweets you can sense that she is not your average 20 something year old. She oozes of maturity and strength. For her to have even let the grand mother stay in a house that her father pays rent for, so she could bond with her grand daughter speaks volume.

I believe she has more dexterity than most of the uncultured and unsocialised animals on this thread who cannot argue based on logic but tribalism.

The UK-based woman is alleging that her child’s paternal grandmother, Annette Ehiemere, kidnapped her daughter named Liya and took her to Nigeria.

What exactly is the word kidnapping? Do you even know what it meant? And have you heard from the granny side or you're one of those that place verdict over the counter?

The woman is not hiding. As of now, she preparing her own legal case? I'm sure the baby is already hers!

Why do you keep repeating that a father can't kidnap his own child? That kind of thought is myopic. There are several instances where a seeming father can be said to have kidnapped his own child.

Stop spreading falsehood.

Igbo customary courts will be harsher on him than UK courts. UK may even grant him visitation rights.

In igbo land,as long as they are not married, the child has no business with him.

She can post all she wants over social media, that won't get her the child back.
Infact the family could counter-sue her for defamation of character, especially if she loses the case, which is a real possibility.
But why are some women so dumb.?
Too irrational.

Not probably but definitely and not only in the UK but in 76 other countries that signed the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, or Hague Abduction Convention.

I really don't care about traditions or cultural bull feathers because its baseless here, we should call a spade a spade. Kidnap is kidnap... No traditional or cultural cover allowed. If the little angel is british then the grandma is answerable to the british government whether she is in Africa soil, Nigeria soil or chibok soil, they will hunt her down and they will find her and I pray they do.
All the peeps spilling saliva anyhow on here talking about traditions, PLS say AmEn that this exact incident will befall you or your relations and I will rest my case.
For the pain of labour alone this woman have got custody of the child till eternity. What nonsense people talking about mental stability on Tommy side, PLS tell me which sane mother would do this to another.. Chai.

Yes, if a father acquires parental responsibility then the mother can't take the child away.

If the boy had married the girl, he would have had more rights.
He hasn't. He left and the girl stayed alone with the child. She carried the responsibility alone, thus she has more rights.

i can assure you we have 224 tribes in Nigeria not only igbo

cococandy:
Which elder? Did he pay her bride price?

You just dey talk ignorantly.
I don't know about your tribe. In igbo tribe,if you don't pay a woman's bride price, any child born of both of you belongs to the woman's family and will bear the girl's father's name.

So don't think I was agreeing with you when I said his village elders.
I meant people biased in his favor.

The boy's family from their name is igbo.

UK courts will be fairer to him than an unbiased gathering of igbo village elders.

Say what you know.

And this is JUST one of the reasons why the WICKED grandmother had NO RIGHT to take the child away.
Was it her womb that carried the child or her sperm that impregnated the girl?

Can you now see how you are contradicting yourself?

And even in Nigeria, the father has LEGALLY no right to take the child as he was NOT married to the mother.
Do your research.

Can u really imagine, that woman can kill, this is typical what they call an inside enemy, they wanna subject that girl to step mother and what not but God pass them.
Let's see how her babados and Caribbean gangster swag helps them.
We only have one lady thatcher and she is dead so this grandma had better wake up and surrender and stop trying to imitate.
I'm so vexed right now.

stop calling the grandmother, she is acting on behalf of her son,so its the father acting not his mother, the mother is just his tool.
as to your question its the boys child too and the girl denied him of his child for two years, and please tell me what part of Nigerian law says so
please note that Nigerians make law to keep family not to break them up

The baby's mother gave her the right to come and stay with her grandchild. The wicked, ugly grandma used the kindness to deceive her.

Even if a grandmother has MORALLY the right to her grandchild, her right will never be above that of the MOTHER.
It is hypocritical of you to talk of the rights of a grandma and forgetting about the rights of a mother.

And yes, you can raise a child on welfare.
Apart from that, the baby mama has a family. The father pays for her apartment. The girl is a student and will be able to make her own money in a few years.

Not even yet a toddler but still a baby, and they took her,am really feeling this cos av got a two years old baby as well.
MsNas:

Don't mind them uneducated lots. If they were educated as their town-crier has announced, then they wont worry about going the right legal channels for obtaining the sole custody of the child. Instead of stealing the child.

Why is the UK border control so porous like that sef? How did the allow a toddler go on a plane to another country without the consent of the mother? That was how the murder suspect was also allowed to escape to Nigeria on his brother's passport. I just weAK!
