OP my opinion is that you should give it a deep thought. weigh the pros and cons. if it's your friend who has your back and an all round good guy tell him what you know or better still tell the girl to tell him. it's better he knows now that to know later and realize you knew all along. he may not be "all hell let loose " with you but there will be a crack in your friendship. how he chooses to handle the information is his business.
