who told you that good grade always make an excellent leader ? How many leader's in the whole world have a good grade ? School grade can't determine a an excellent leader, list things that make a leader excellent and connect them with having good school grade ? |

nextstep: When great things falls in the dark side people suffer; when esoteric talents are abused, they become criminal. Robin Hood for instance, is good example of a weird talent channeled at the part of righteousness. So.. in the case of our honorable senator, it's just a pure case of good -gift -gone -bad scenario. |

bolethings: My brother don't get it twisted, most of you are getting it wrong. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckersberg who are the typical successful drop out examples had top top CGPA even while At school. They dropped out because they had projects they were working on!! In fact statistics showed that Bill Gates in Harvard was one of the smartest students then. 1 Like |

OP, Go tell Emeritus Professor Wole Soyinka that nonsense. Lest u forget, he is a 3rd class first degree holder. Others are late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Former Governor Onanefe James Ibori |

How about some 1st/2nd class graduates who cannot spell their LGAs correctly? Have seen one (a female). Please keep certicate as a second criterion. Instead talk about empty skulls (those that can not deliver). 2 Likes |

FreeSpirited:A very idiotic comment. Like I have already told the Op, some brilliant students do come out with 3rd class due to one unforeseen event or the other. You don't rate such people based on their certificate but based on what they have upstairs. FreeSpirited:And 3rd class holders are incapable of reasoning like human beings? Can you show me one exceptional thing that you have done to improve the society that the 3rd class graduates cannot do? FreeSpirited:Rate people based on what they can do not based what a school wrote for them on sheets of paper. Your type of person irritates me. 4 Likes |

iambijo: Which leader of the developed world did not do well in school? China? USA? Germany? Russia? Canada? !which one? As much as I agree that being a leader is beyond academic excellence, academic excellence is a big plus that you cannot discount, the way some posters are doing here. See the difference between Buhari and Osinbajo leadership style. Need I say more? |

I think that the OP's ideology is one of the things wrong with this country. A whole lot of facts were not considered before writing this her article. You actually think that the whole world revolves around our certificate. There are things that are not taught in the 4 walls of a classroom. How many 3rd Class graduates do you know? How many 3rd class graduates have you competed with? In terms of leadership, how many 3rd class graduates have you been led by, to make you conclude that 3rd class graduates are not intellectually sound enough to rule. What about the days when we only had monarchs? Were those kings and queens with successful reigns even degree holders? Some folks were not just made for formal or systematic learning. 1. What about a 3rd class graduate that topped his Master degree class that was made up of 2.1 class graduates? Does that nullify the fact that the grade of his first degree was a 3rd class. 2. Can you actually compare a 3rd class graduate of a school like OAU with a 2.1 class graduate of say IMSU (no offence and no pun intended)? 3. Departments vary whether you like it or not, some course are harder than others. The only way to recognize a 3rd class graduate is by his certificate. If it were to be based on intellect and leadership skills, a whole lot of 2.1 graduates will disappoint you. I sincerely hope that you let your school pass through you and help you to learn that formal education was invented. Please OP, i hope you don't mind me asking for the name of your school. I bet if king solomon goes to school, He will come out with a first class. 4 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista: My brother it is, don't let let all those motivational bullshit deceive us. Just one question, please be objective, who is arguably rated or viewed as the top leader in the world? Then go and see their profile. Lol then why is Mugabe still a president? Leadership competence can always be taught and learnt. |

Doriana2: You are trying hard to sound intelligent but I can tell you have very little mental acuity. Your reasoning is shallow and your thought processes highly underdeveloped. If you do not know that academic qualification/intelligence is only but one out of the many types of intelligence reposed in humans then you're a lost cause. 1 Like |

1st class, 2nd class, 3rd class or even "thanks for attending" doesn't prove any point as far as am concerned... leadership is a quality that is within not what comes with university grades. 3 Likes |

there is a difference between IQ and EQ.... u need at least an average IQ to attain academic success, but your EQ determines your ability to lead an organisation... simply put someone with low IQ and high EQ can be a better leader of a country than someone with high IQ low EQ.... so the issue of 3rd class not holding political posts holds no water |
