Gil Nnaji represents you in the senate, what's he doing, any ugwuanyi is trying opening up rural areas, don't forget that nkanu was governor and deputy governors in the last 16 years in enugu, what did they do with it nothing. Ugwuanyi is a good man who has done wonders with the meagre resources available to him

Using same line of thinking, Doesn't somebody represent Enugu north also in the senate? What is he doing, or are you saying we should use state allocated funds meant for all of us to build some selected rural roads because funds are scarce, then hope and wish the senators and representatives do Nkanu east roads?

So, because Nkanu was governor and deputy in the last 16 years we should wallow in underdevelopment? Maybe I should go and blame Chimaroke and Chime for abandoning Nkanu east? I will also be made to go back and blame even Jim Nwobodo too, and possibly Ken Nnamani while my own state funds is being used right now to develop a section of the state.

Saying that state funds are been used for one section of the state is false except ure saying that NSUKKA town should be given the same priority with NOMEH.

No my brother, we were never asking for a university of Nigeria, and we didn't ask for fancy roundabouts and flyovers with some housing estates and heavy state government presence.

What Nomeh people asked for was a road so we can travel home in all the months of the year. My townsman died in May last year, and because we know the roads will be impassable, the family had to wait till December when the roads have dried up before they can bury the man!

Is that good enough? We only asked for access roads so my people can come to Enugu easily to sell their farm products.

I also noticed you mentioned Nsukka in bold and Nomeh to draw more people into a baseless argument, are you not trying to cause some mischief this holy morning? grin I did not mention Nsukka in my own post you quoted.

Did Enugu state start existing a few years ago? while you are free to ask for your share of government projects, stop shouting that your state funds is being used for a section of the state. Was stat fund not used by CHimaroke for Agbani and Sullivan for Enugu city both of which are within your senatorial zone, or are there not many villages in Enugu North right now that are worse off than Nomeh

Of course, Nenwe has been neglected, but Even Jim Nwobodo did a road into Nenwe. That is a good thing. Jim Nwobodo didn't do a road to Nomeh. Nobody has ever done. No projects at all there.

There was a road project flagged off at far away Amagunze by Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi last year. But it seems abandoned now. Nomeh has always been patient since 60 years ago. We name all our children "Patience" in this town, maybe the next 7th governor of Enugu will remember there is a town named Nomeh Unateze in 50 years time. As for now, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi cannot claim to know exactly where Nomeh is in the map of Enugu state grin

Lol... Oga Spyder, I understand how u feel, but I want you t know that there are so many communities in Enugu that have not seen any asphalted road in their life time.

My only grouse with you is the allegations that the present govt is spending state funds on a section of the state. The truth is that rural areas have been long neglected in Enugu state and it will take so times before any govt will bridge that gap and I believe that the present administration will surely remember these place as time goes on.

agrarian communities are always like that, while it is important to build your roads, stop crying as if state funds has not been used for urban areas within your region or as if rural communities elsewhere are not facing same challenge

As an Nkanu man, i really like what Gov. Ugwuanyi has done in Nsukka area so far. It actually shows he learnt from Okwesilieze Nwodo's mistake when he was the first executive governor of Enugu State from Nsukka zone.

Gov. Ugwuanyi has not registered his own construction company to be used to deliver substandard roads to his zone. He rather engaged the service of a reputable company to build roads that will last long in his area. That shows his seriousness in setting a good standard. Former Gov. Chime equally did same , through Arab Contractors in Udi area.

In Nkanu area during former Gov. Nnamani's reign, he brought ESUT to his hometown and empowered some new politicians in Nkanu to enjoy the spoils of power with him. He tried to bring electricity to rural communities in the area, but he forgot that what Nkanu needed most was opening up of the villages to civilization by connecting Nkanu towns with good asphalt roads. The roads he built in Nkanu was perhaps the most substandard I have seen a governor do in his zone. He used a company he hurriedly established to do shoddy work. We still remember a new bridge that fell after 6 months at Nyaba near Amodu. The 50% unfinished dualization of Ozalla - Agbani Road. The road he built from St. John's Agbani to Akpugo is currently an eyesore. Nkanu West Headquarters to Amodu has deteriorated with a fallen culvert. Amurri and all the villages in Ugbwka, Nara- Unateze, Nkerefi, and Nomeh were abandoned. Ihuokpara and Amagunze were in a very hopeless situation.
In Nnamani 8 years at Lion Building, it never perhaps occurred to him that Nkanu people in Amechi-Idodo, Owo and Nike did not deserve to travel all the way to Enugu-PH expressway to get to Agbani or Amagunze. Recently, i noticed that work have started on Idodo - Amagunze road, courtesy of Gov. Ugwuanyi.

With a landmass of about 7,161sqkm(the largest in the East) Enugu State government needs a lot of money to build roads in our rural areas.

Nkanu people like politics, and sincerely they know how to win elections. The problem is that the zone has never learnt how to use political powers they acquired to develope the area as it should be. Apart from Ozalla due to its central location, and recently Amechi- Awkunanaw, due to it's control of Enugu South LGA, Nkanuland has more than 80% of its communities without modern asphalt roads. That is not a smart way of playing politics!

Sometime ago, i wondered why the former governor from the area did not deem it necessary to dualize the road from Ozalla junction to Amagunze, and got it lined with street lighting down the same stretch. The Agbani- Afikpo road was begging for a better attention for decades. It is shameful, but i believe that Agwu area has far better road networks than Nkanu and yet Agwu has not yet produced a governor, while Nkanu men( Nwobodo and Nnamani) have ruled from Lion Building Enugu for 12 years.

Nkanu politicians must change their parochial mindset or else the entire area remains underdeveloped for more decades. The local politics of Ikenga Vs Odenigbo has done terrible damage to the entire area.

Whatever Ugwuanyi is doing in Nsukka town, Chimaroke did in Agbani, and whatever is left undone in Nkanu East is also left undone in places like Uzo-Uwani. Nkanu West and Enugu south are urban parts of Nkanu land. There is no way remote agrarian communities will get equal infrastructure with urban areas, though the roads are needed but there are not enough resources to go round and the places in Nkanu East you people keep mentioning is not the only affected places, all large local governments with scanty population have similar problems

The roads being built by RCC in Nsukka area is far better than what is obtainable at Agbani by a long shot. Agbani is still a rural village, when compared to Nsukka both in street layouts and roads. I know both towns very well, and i refuse to agree with you on this issue.

a lot of institutions were taken to Nkanu, ESUT, Law school, Airforce School and UNTH. Enugu is not mainly divided into Enugu and Nsukka, Enugu state is divided into many local governments of which some notable groups are distinct.

Enugu capital
Nike area
Udi area
Ezeagu area
Nkanu area
Nsukka area
Oji River area
Awgu area

Enugu capital is a center made up of many parts of the different groups, and no group can claim it. Enugu south is made up of mainly Nkanu west parts, Enugu North is mainly Ngwo/Udi parts, Enugu east is made up of Nike parts. The Ezeagu, Oji River, Nsukka, Awgu and Nkanu east areas are so far away from Enugu that claiming any kind of grounds there is not feasible.

But we understand that we all own the center, Enugu. Land ownership is spread almost equally as all parts of Enugu are fully represented in land ownership and distribution.

Nobody should use Enugu capital development to excuse the neglect of the inner towns, because they are very different. For example, people living in Nsukka can get to the government house much faster than somebody coming from either Okpanku (Aninri) or Inyi Achi (Oji River). But this does not mean Nsukka or Oji river is more important than the other.

It's a federal hospital, Chimaroke didn't have any powers to move it or not.

FYI, UNTH Ituku/Ozalla has been under construction before 1999, when Obasanjo became President and Chimaroke became Enugu state gov. I can't really say which regime that start that project but am very sure work has been on going there even as of 1995, so Chimaroke has no hand in moving the teaching hospital there.
The real owners of that place is Ituku, in Awgu LGA, cos they ve about 80% of land used there.

my dear, the way you lumped everywhere in ENugu north as "Nsukka area" is the same way nsukka people think that anybody from outside Nsukka is from "Enugu area". Nsukka LGA, which is just one local government in the "Nsukka area" is the most populated LGA in ENugu state but you compare each town to "Nsukka area". From the data below, Nsukka area i.e Enugu north and Isi Uzo, make up almost 45% of Enugu's population, if you consider that Enugu city with 3 local governments are largely cosmopolitan with higher percentage of non indigenous population, then you will realize that ENugu is divided into two, Enugu region and Nsukka region

OK, those that don't live in that area may rely on official news channels and get things wrong, with this new information, it is obvious chiamroke did not influence the location, but other things i said are still true

Please what is being done to rehabilitate Presidential Hotel, Enugu and the Enugu International Conference center?

The state government should sell off Presidential hotel to a notable hotel chain such as Golden Tulip or even local investors instead of watching the edifice in the city center continue to be used as den of robbers and kidnappers.

These two iconic building left to rot under Chime was a serious blemish to this tenure. I hope Gov. Ugwuanyi while focusing on nsukka zone does not let the continued wasteful neglect of these iconic building of Enugu state continue to degenerate and waste. Private partners can be brought in to take over their utilization. Everything must not be completed and owned by government.
