Good day umunnem.

A lot of towns have been neglected and "remembered" by different past governments from military rule down to the current democratic dispensation.
But when a particular region/LGA is neglected totally by all past state governments questions have to be asked.
Such is the case of uzo-uwani LGA in Enugu.
I'll really like to know if uzo-uwani LGA is a part of Enugu state.
Most signs of civilization in the area were from the FG /eastern region back in the days due to its agricultural potentials e.g Adarice farm settlement. These structures have been abandoned and are dilapidated.
An agrarian region where farmers find it hard to get to their farms.
Currently Igga town has been cut off from Enugu state. Farmers now have to travel to omasi in anambra before they can get home. Other towns like asaba, ojor, ogwurugwu have been affected in the past.
Education is currently on its lowest level in the region.
Towns have to build/maintain health centres, schools and roads like there is no government.
I suggest the state government should probably cede the region to other boundary states if they don't value the potentials of the region.

Nwa nna, mind the way you disgrace my sophisticated and great people of Uzo uwani. Did they tell you they were lacking any infrastructure? Or you just wanted to exhibit qualifications. Go look for something meaningful and engage yaself either than wasting your precious time on Nairaland which you know nobody would listen to you. Besides, no one on Nairaland is your governor's diplomat.

Don't sound that way to elders Mr man. I don't know why you guys of nowadays don't have respect for elders anymore. Just imagine the way sounded to me as thou I was your mate. That am an Afonja man does not really mean I should be supporting gullible ones like you. By the way, who told you that those people were suffering? Even if they're suffering as you said, nairaland isn't the right place to advertise their sufferings, you should have gone directly to your governor yasef and portrayed ya grievance to him. Stop being an Attention seeking mofoo my son. Anyway, that been said, let now me go back to my brown roofing republic and kwontinuo enjoying my amala with my Palatable ewedu soup instead of being a menace to you, my son.

This is serious...
The last time I was in Uzo-uwani that bridge wasn't that bad. Gburugburu should beam his transformational light towards Uzo-uwani please, before the feeling of indignation sets in...
I hope Songhai farm at Adani is still operational.

Songhai died long ago before Sullivan left. The real farmers were not trained.
The whole process was hijacked by politicians.
Ugwuanyi is already doing a good job by imposing a traditional ruler on igga people and co.

I really feel sorry for far flung communities in Enugu state for the total neglect they suffer since independence. I was complaining about communities in Nkanu east, Nomeh Unataze, Nara Unateze, Ugbawka, Nkerefi, Ekpofu, Ihuokpara, Amagunze and the rest and some people on this very thread wants me to stop talking. They said I was complaining too much.

Now who will speak for the abandoned towns of Enugu state.

If by this weekend I still see the mountains of refuse dumps all across Enugu town, I will start showing the pictures here. People Now walk around Enugu with their hands covering their noses. The stench of rotting rubbish dumped all around the state capital is going to cause an epidemic soon.

What is happening in Enugu? Spyder you always bombard us with beautiful pictures when the past administration was in power. Now there is nothing to show. It will be very painful for us to start seeing images of refuse dumps. But then you have to do what you have to, to ensure that the government will listen and act. Thanks

In all honesty, I am tired of seeing the dumps everywhere. These first two pictures were taken about 3 minutes ago, Onwudiwe/Nnobi street junction of Uwani Enugu. See things for yourselves.

The third picture is around Ohafia bus stop of Ziks avenue, they just started parking the refuse here. But about 100 other spots are littered with rubbish, almost covered the road.

Nigeria is the only country in the world that makes basic things seem like rocket science. Picking up litter, the most basic activity in any functioning, functional society.

Even North Korea is clean, a nation that has absolutely nothing, where most of its population are living below the poverty line, not knowing where their next meal is going to come from. Yet, they can still do the basic things, but Nigeria, an oil rich country, with an intelligent populace, is just draped in what...ridiculous amongst of corruption and inefficiency.

Is anyone else feeling the traffic lights here might be impeding the ease of movement? What's the sense in putting traffic lights at every street junction. The one around Edozien street junction and the one at the Ogbete/CIC road junction of Ziks avenue are so close. You get stopped in one, and get stopped in the next.

Well part of our learning is the tendency to over do anything.
I agree traffic lights should not be in junctions where there isn't a T or 4-way intersection.

This is just 3 minutes ago, and there is no help in sight.

I am standing at the Amechi road junction of Agbani road right now, and this is just unbearable, the stench is overpowering, an epidemic can start anytime as the refuse has blocked the open drainage.

Where is Eswama? it's like this at Coal camp, Abakpa, Trans Ekulu, Obiagu, Emene and Ogui areas.

I am so disappointed with Gov Ugwuanyi. cry cry cry

The man is slowly and gradually reversing all the gains achieved by the previous administration. Not a single substantial new project has been started by this regime. Even something as little as city beautification started by the previous regime has been stopped. Everything is stagnant under the big man.

Someone at Eswama must be reading this thread, imagine the speedy response grin

I just returned to Agbani road to see so many trucks attacking the whole refuse dumps around there, they completely cleared the dump at Mayor bus stop area and are doing the one around Amokwe bus stop now. They even brought out a caterpillar! They are really serious and throwing everything at the problem, throwing even the kitchen sink grin

I thank Governor Ugwuanyi or anyone in his cabinet that ordered the clearing of the refuse with immediate effect.

But, why must they wait for the thing to overflow and block road before they work? Meanwhile every month, they are the first to shout if their salaries aren't paid? Meanwhile, they should please continue beautification of the city by planting more tree and flowers in the median and trimming the overgrown grass along the major roads. Enugu should be aiming to build a virile tourist industry by promoting great hotels to set up in the city, looking for ways to attract foreign and local tourists, help private entrepreneurs to open up more interesting entertainment centers, classy restaurants serving continental and local dishes, safe night clubs etc where a tourist can visit while in the city and of course making the environment a clean and conducive garden city.

Anyhow, the person that ordered these people to do their work and clear the heaps of trash on the major roads in the city, i thank you!
