Did you know that many women are now opting to have their divorce cases heard in the UK, despite the fact that they were never married here. It's because the courts here robs the men and give these worthless women, who never contributed to any meaningful thing, most of the mans asset.
Marriage has fallen big time here and women are now moaning of not having anyone to marry them.
You played yourself fools!!!

Calling the mother of your children worthless points to how irresponsible you are. No wonder you are vehemently against child support but it will be implemented in Nigeria eventually. So tighten your seatbelts and be ready to face the consequences of your action. If the child bears your surname why should you even think twice about child support. Simple as avoid divorce like a plague. Don't get divorced hoping to shy away from your responsibilities towards children who bear your surname and not their mother's. They are letting your generation continue not hers. Let us be fair and square.

if you knock a woman up it's your duty to take care of the child.
So who's gonna take care of your child !since you do not support child support?
There is no reason for such law in Nigeria. At least 85% of men shoulder a bigger percentage of there child/children support. Most men almost single handedly provide the financial support the family needs. Implementing such law will simply encourage more laziness among most of our ladies. Mind you, the father and mother is suppose to contribute equally for the child's up keep.

But what am advocating is, if there is clear evidence that the man is not providing for the child, not the mother, he should be made to face the wrath of the law.
If the couple are not leaving together, the law should set specific amount of money(can be reviewed) which is deemed enough to carter for the child, depending on his age every month. To be provided by the father and the mother. The father should provide 60% of that money if the child is in custody of the mother, while the mother provides 40%(trying to factor in the difficulties that comes with nursing a child).

To me the best solution is
in the presence of everyone in the court... they should make some calculations on how much the upkeep of the child will take till he gets to 18.

like, if the amount is 9million then both the lady and the man should be ordered to pay the money.

I mean the man will pay half and the lady pays half.

Atiku’s son launches fresh legal battle over children’s custody, rejects N250,000 monthly upkeep

Lagos – A former Vice-President, Abubakar Atiku’s son, Aminu, on Thursday took the battle of his children’s custody against his ex-wife, Fatima Bolori, to an Igbosere High Court in Lagos.

Aminu Atiku being led out of the court Aminu asked the court to upturn a magistrates’ court’s decision which awarded the custody of his two children to Fatima as well as a N250,000 monthly upkeep.

Aminu told Justice Kazeem Alogba that the lower court disregarded his constitutional right of fair hearing before granting judgment in Fatima’s favour.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Jan.10, Magistrate Kikelomo Ayeye sitting in Tinubu on Lagos Island awarded full custody of the ex-couple’s daughter, Ameera, 11, and son, Aamir, 7, to Fatima.

The lower court held that Aminu failed to file a response to Fatima’s application for the children’s custody.

But Aminu, through his counsel, Oyinkan Badejo, filed an application to the high court seeking leave to appeal the lower court’s judgment and another application for a stay of further execution of its terms.

The first application, a motion on notice, was brought pursuant to Section 70 of the Magistrates’ Court Law, 2009 and supported by a 16-paragraph application.

Badejo said: “In response to whether the applicant has shown sufficient grounds for the grant of the application, there is not more sufficient ground than the party’s right to fair hearing.

“We arrived at the magistrates’ court at 12.30 p.m. believing the matter was for mention at 1.00 p.m.”

She contended that the lower court erred by hearing and granting Fatima’s application for custody on a date the suit was fixed for mention.

On the second application, Badejo urged the court to vary the conditions attached to the custody order.

Badejo said according to the lower court’s order, Aminu would pay his ex-wife N250, 000 monthly for the upkeep of the children, beginning from January.

She also said that Magistrate Ayeye ordered Aminu to carry out medical insurance on each child among others.

But Badejo said: “We are not seeking a stay of the execution of the judgment but some of the terms were onerous.

“We were asked to pay N250,000 for the upkeep of two young children and medical allowances. We find that rather onerous.”

Fatima’s counsel, Mr O. N. Olabisi and Mr Ethel Okoh opposed her.

But in a bench ruling, Justice Alogba granted Aminu leave to appeal the lower court’s judgment.

Further hearing was adjourned until May 17 and June 14. (NAN)

Not that bad, but I try to be as fair as I can, who ever that will have the custody of the child should pay a little less. Is not easy to nurse a baby to adult.

it will never work because the court by default supports women and society views a mother's love greater than a father's love. a woman will have to be the World's Worst Mother for a father to even qualify for custody.

which people are going to enforce these laws?? our constitution hasn't defined it yet.

Child support is a scam.
The cost of taking care of the child till he's 18
and both parents should be forced to pay the money equally in the presence of everyone in the court

Most of the guys supporting child support scam here aren't married and some are still kids

many men who were worth more than 200 million$ were ruined because of child support. ..are y'all worth $3m?
I wonder why any reasonable Nigerian man will support child support.

Some weeks ago there was a post about this child support in fox news Facebook page ,if you see the way the American men were complaining about child support you won't believe.. do y'all know what child support has done to many men in the US, Europe and UK?

If child support is introduced into Nigeria, the same people won't waste time in introducing sharing of properties between divorcèes!

imagine sharing your properties 50/50 with a woman who contributed to the acquiring of those properties and still ordered to pay child support.. that will surely be your end

I'm not surprised.

You came on my thread to post stuffs supporting child support and I quoted you.

If child support should be legalized in Nigeria then the payment must be equal.

The courts should setup accounts where each parents will be made to pay in monthly.

or calculate the total cost of taking care of the kid till he gets to 18 and both the man and the lady will be told to pay the money equally.

If you can't behave matured without using provocative words please don't post on my thread next time.

Well, no matter how bad you feel about this, nursing a child is not easy at all. Mind you, she would have to combine this with her job, to be able to contribute the 40% i recommended as the custodian. Calm down and think about how hard it is to nurse a baby to adult. Also note that the father can visit those children quite often.

Sure some women use it as a bargaining chip, but some are genuily consigned about there children. How well do most men perform when it comes to nursing babies. Generally women do better. Any lady that can provide 40% of the child support and still be able to look after her children, is not a goldigger and should be respected.
