It is you that spoke about the police not being rude so as to get evidence from the culprit/ scammer. It's obvious you think the case is in Nigeria where elders will come and start scolding the OP for being "rude" to his elder. Even in Nigeria that things don't work, I can assure you that the rude stuff you are stressing will not hold water. In the documentaries you said you watched, when someone is rude to his debtor, does he forfeit the debt owed?
I gave you examples and I've already explained to you.

Being rude is never a way to get someone to do your bidding.

Exactly. Women are more concerned with establishing meaningful long term relationships.

Avenue to refuse refunding him for what? The scenario you painted is quite different from the case of the OP. There's enough evidence the OP can use against her, hence no police officer will ' befriend ' her to get evidence.
His deposit duh!! What else could it be?

It's the same concept.

You Nigerians dont understand that you can be assertive and firm without being rude.

You don't even know what you're talking about. The OP's case is civil, not criminal. No police officers.

Please that's no how to treat issues, you don't treat dubious people with respect. The guy was never disrespectful in the first place the woman's attitude prompted it. I don't know why you people reason upside down in this country. Gosh
seanwilliam:
your comment na balderdash . No Dey put mouth for thing wey u no understand. U hear?
Person scam u, u Dey reason say she go capitalize on the insult ?

Indeed most of y’all have distant reasoning mentality .

Now you have two options ,
Ignore my quote or buy 1 and get 10 for free
Do you know what country I'm in?

Have you ever watched crime documentaries before? Even detectives know not to get rude to rape and murder suspects at the start.
In interviews they ease them into it. And they eventually snitch and implicate themselves. They pretend to be their friend and make them comfortable to open up.

Same concept here. Same concept with kidnappers and their victims. Complementing and pretending to befriend your attacker helps keep you alive.

Being rude to that thief of a landlady is understandable. But it's just gonna give her an avenue to refuse refunding him.

I know it's hard to understand because nigerians are easily led their instincts and emotions.

Sorry to say this, but you are a big mugu for talking like this. Even it is that rudeness that will quicken the process of collecting the money back from her. Who talks nicely to a fraudster, she will just be posting you with excuses and lies which are the cheapest in their closest. She will delay the payment, frustrate the guy and even try to come up with another means to dupe him. You have never dealt with a scammer that is why you talk like this, rudeness is like a big blow to their chest, it confuses them and destroys their scamming plan
You're absolutely wrong. Rudeness is will make them get defensive and use that as their shield.

Why do you think friends often fall out after money is lent? Same concept.

The lender gets frustrated and gets rude. And the debtor clings onto that

"Since you are being rude to me, you won't be getting your money"

US police are not as daft as ours, look at the rubbish u are even saying, what kind of defence would she make with this kind of excuse eh...better shut up if u don't know what to say
You're the one that needs to shut up. Failure to return deposit is a civil issue, not criminal. No need mentioning "US police".

See how Nairaland girls occupied the Second, third and fourth position on a thread about Men and Sex.

You hardly see them in political or educative discussions. Na only for sex thread you'll see them and their prowess.
Is it Nigerian women that are opening threads up and down on how they can't get sex when they japa to Amrica or Canada?

No longer desire women and sex?

You cannot cheat nature. A heterosexual man desires women and sex. The same goes for a heterosexual woman.

The approach may be different, but the desire is still there.

Lol being rude to you is no excuse not to refund money for service you didn’t provide.

No matter who how he insulted her, doesn’t change the fact that her refusal to provide a refund is fraudulent in nature.

@OP report her to the authorities asap, don’t care what happens to her. I am sure this is not her first time of doing this. I must confess most Nigerians are evil-minded. I as a Nigerian deal with other Nigerians at arm’s length.

Even up to transactions with family, we go sign agreements, no cash, electronic transfers, clearly defined expectations etc me that hate stories that touch.
We all know rudeness is no excuse. The woman is devious. As soon as OP got rude, she jumped on it. That will now be her defense.
Travel › Re: My Nasty Experience With Nigerian In New Jersey by 1Sharon(f):
You messed by getting rude to her. Now she'll cling onto that and use it as an excuse to not refund your deposit.

If there's a way to leave a review do that.

Edit. Here's the logic behind my comment:

For the fact that Yul reported the matter to the police means that he is also away that there's something fishy in the death of his son.
He could have done it for extra closure. Anything goes in Nigeria, the police can do your bidding as long as you have the money.
In a proper county, police are only called when the death seems suspicious.
