And don't get it twisted. In my post you quoted, I acknowledged that innoson being an assembly plant alone is a big achievement but in an interview he granted to newspapers sometimes ago, he actually claimed that he designed and manufactured the body of the vehicle while he only imported the engine "from where others like Toyota, Mercedes get their own" (his words). That is definitely incorrect.

If he designs, make prototype and patent a vehicle, even if the parts come from Mars or Pluto and is assembled inside the White House in Washington, the brand is Innosson of Nigeria but if he assembles GAC Auto brand and just re-badge it, he cannot honestly claim to have 'manufactured' such.

In a thread before nairaland crashed, somebody actually asked what is the difference between Innoson and other franchise holders/assemblers in nigeria like PAN, Anamco, Steyr, etc.? I was one of those who ignorantly shouted him down because I actually believed innoson 'manufactures' then.

I actually thought that Alfascletzer photoshopped the pictures but I just google the company now - GAC Zhejiang Gonow Auto Co. and behold, G5 is 100% that Chinese company's product even the same name.

But why should innoson claim what he is not? Being called a vehicle assembler is enough achievement. Why claim he designed and manufacture vehicles that are imported in semi-knocked down (skd) stage not even completely knocked down (ckd) parts.

Following the aerial onslaught by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on the strategic town of Bama at the weekend, leading to the forced retreat of Boko Haram terrorists from Borno’s second largest town, the sect last night launched a counter-offensive on Mubi and Michika, two important towns in Adamawa State with large Christian populations.

The authorities of the university also announced its closure to forestall the destruction of lives and property in the school.

They were seen at bus stations in the town trying to depart Mubi.
The insurgents had on Friday launched an attack on Gulak, headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa State.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Liman Tukur, who confirmed the attack in a statement Saturday, said the insurgents had taken over Gulak.
Boko Haram has been laying siege to several major towns and villages in Borno and Adamawa States in recent weeks in its bid to carve out an Islamic enclave.

Though Boko-haram still has Gwoza and Gamboru Ngala, both in Borno State, as well as Banki in Adamawa State, under its control, the Nigerian military has sworn to leave no stone unturned until it recaptures every territory from the sect.

OP. Those pictures 3 and 4 that you described as the palaces of the Emir of Abu-dhabi and Emir of Dubai respectively are different views of the same building.

Anyway, the building itself is not a king's palace but a 5- star hotel called Emirate Palace Hotel in Abu-Dhabi.

The picture has been in circulation online since yesterday. And People are saying the little kid in the picture is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi being introduced by his Grandpa, the then Emir to the British Governor General. It shows how everything has been politicized. A little background check should have been carried out before this hogwash went viral.

If you look closely, the name of the Prince is Muhammad Sanusi Um**(maybe Umar). 

I[b] think the guy in the pix is the present Emir of dutse. Dutse was formerly a part of the old Kano state, his name approximates to the name in the old paper. Only Um** is missing. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is way off the mark from the name in that paper.

The paper refers to the British man standing as Sir James Robertson. James Robertson was the second Gov. General of Nigeria and he reigned between 1955 and 1960. So it means that picture was taken on or before 1960.

Sanusi's profile tells us he was born in 1961. So he wasn't even born when this shot was taken.

So our friends in the APC need to do some background check before spreading misinformation.

It didn't take me up to three minutes to look up all of this.

Your analysis is logical except the bolded. Dutse was not an emirate until 1990s. A District Head answerable to emir of Kano was in charge of Dutse until then. So Dutse emirateship is a recent creation. The father of the present emir of Dutse - Mohammad Sunusi Dan Bello started as the district head in 1983 before being upgraded midway to emir of Dutse until his death in 1995.

Eldavido1: I see a game plan in this. If he resigns, then it means he is in a better position to recontest the election schedule in 3 months time. But if he were impeached, that would have done damage to his reputation and candidacy. seems like a grand design by PDP to feature him in the coming elections. And note, he was exonerated of all the charges against Nyako.

Fayose was impeached in 2006 for corruption and was still facing trial for the corruption charges in the court when he was re-elected in 2014 with a landslide majority. So what gives?

tzetzefly: The idea is that most Nigerians see the visa approval as a do or die affair thats why a lot of denials have come from showing a negative body language during interviews.

Also the US visa from my own perspective, is the easiest visa to come by. You have the privilege and advantage of facing the VO and proving your case and at times, even without a single document being checked, imagine that.

Recently, there has been a lot of changes made to the visa appointment wait times to allow those in need of entry visas to the US do so without delays, this is a commendable milestone from the State Department.

I attended the interview today at the US embassy with my family. Easy straight forward and family-friendly interview. Of all the documents I gathered for myself and my wife, only my own bank statement and the children's birth certificates were asked for, checked and returned. They didn't even ask anything about or from my wife even though she is also working and even filled self-sponsored. Visa(s) to be collected on Monday.

Update on 10 May 2013 : The visa were actually ready within 24 hours not the 2 business days that the embassy told us yesterday. I just collected them now. Surprisingly even though this is our first US visa and we stated vacation as our purpose, my wife and I were each given B1/B2 combined multiple entry visa for 2 years while the children were given B2 multiple 2 year visa. One can hardly predict these guys.

I filled for all my family members, the details required from me is by far more than from my wife which in turn is more than from my 14 years old child. lol at "do not appear desperate for visa". Actually the opposite has been my attitude in all previous visa applications I have ever made. I was always like it is my money I want to go and spend in your country. What the heck. Incidentally I have never been denied a visa and I have never done it thru any agent

Our next vacation is a 40 days stretch taking us to 3 countries of which only 11 days will be spent in USA. Reading people's experience on this thread made me start wondering that if US visa is this unreasonably difficult, we better substitute it with another country. The vacation starts in August, we have not even started processing visa for the other 2 countries which from past exprience we can start as late as 2 weeks to the trip.

After reading your reply, I decided to schedule the interview. I was surprised that suggested slot for us is as early as May 6th. That fast. I was under the impression the waiting period is like 2 to 3 months. That was why we started early.
