i have this black american in my office that would do anything to remain in nigeria. he has been here only 4 months. we have foreigners of different nationality but he prefers to hangout with the nigerians. He goes clubbing with us, weddings, trip to Takwa Bay. we even had some naval guys stop us with guns cos we stayed at takwa bay beyond 6pm and he enjoyed every bit of the begging. he would take a bike than go with the company vehicle to their residence. he just loves it here. we gave him a nig name already |

Every one should go back to his/her state of origin (i dont mean state of birth), Abia state disengages non indigenes, Imo and Enugu state follow suit Boko Haram making the North uncomfortable for southerners (they will eventually leave the north) Niger Delta gives northerners ultimatum. where people go come live if we all feel we can not accommodate each other? was stopped by those LASTMA guys yesterday just after that Etisalat call centre office before you get to oshodi. the guy said i obstructed traffic. i parked properly, he got my Drivers License and directed we go to their office. a police woman and LASTMA lady hopped in the back seat. as we drove into ilupeju, d guy kept talking about how i'ld get fined. i pointed out to him that there is a new law that LASTMA had no right to give any Financial fine. the ladies behind said *oga wind down, ur car is too hot* i just disabled d power bottons from my own door so they couldnt roll down the glass. we got to oshodi and they asked me to turn around. The LASTMA guy started advising me saying i was too proud and not speaking like a yoruba boy. saying i should have at least begged them. kept quiet all through the ride and when we got back to the point where they stopped me initially, they all came down from the car and asked me to go |
i was on that road (Awka - Enugu) in july and i can say that road needs quick attention. just like the Ore section of this end needs URGENT attention . i was in a 3hrs traffic on a 2km stretch of the ore road (Mc Loph died on that road just last week). on the enugu section, i saw a terrible a terrible accident where a bus was trying to avoid a pot hole , tyre burst and the car tumbled. good thing is no 1 died on the spot but there was this rev sis who had a broken skull, some gal had glass pierce her eyes, broken arms (this 1 no b tem say cos the bus i was on stopped to help). the rain would be a big constraint for any contractor on that road due to the muddy nature but its good they are considering it. Like someone said, the govt can embark on general refurbishing of all roads in the country at the same time if they wont be selfish and award the contract to people that are competent and would do a world class job (and not family n friends who will start the job and under 2months stop work. Onitsha - owerri road used to be as bad as awka - enugu but now a sight to behold. lets hope erosion doesnt take over the road |
Ghana must-go has been exchanged. na when them comot for power wikileaks go leak. Una don see whr them dey probe serving president. Big Brother is Watching, |
My own observation is that a fine gal would always walk with an ugly one. you just confirmed that again. you are so mean and evil, low esteemed. trying to syke urslf up wit and ugly frnd. why not walk wit smome prettier than you are so the pretty person can come to open a thread calling you an ugly gal. mumu. |
At the resumed hearing of the case on Wednesday, Ojo had requested that the tape be played in court, but Justice Mojisola Dada objected on the grounds that the court was too stuffy.. this one wey court don dey stuffy for judge, anoda round of ghana must go don xhange hand so d truth wont come out. there is so much truth in nigeria to be xposed this way. a group of top guys av sold this country for a penny and this will continue until a rawlings kinda treatment is carried out. God just has to turn the heart of sm1 in d circle to xpose all these. these top guys are gradually planting their children in so the process can continue. God punish all of them and will soon xpose them |
i was on that road about 2 weeks ago. the Ondo state end of the road is useless. We left Lagos few mins to 8am (heading to asaba) got to ore at 11.30am and we did not leave until 2.30pm. 3hrs on a distance of less than 10kms if the road was good. |
@ OP, i think you are going about this the wrong way and this makes it look like you are not a true JW. I have worked and skooled with JW, Eckankar, Grail message pple and i will say based on personality, they are all nice pple. The JW pple i knw are actually very intelligent and well read (you don't sound like one) i also know them to be very reserved (always minding their biz). this life is a choice. choose what u feel is best for you. Some of the regular christian's u seem to envy do not watch TV, do not wear trousers, no earrings (for ladies), some walk bare footed to church, some even get strokes of cane at church (Rev King) etc just to mention a few. get ur thinking right and go about ur disassociation the right way. this is to the true JW guys in here. kindly shed more light on why JW peeps do not accept blood transfusion. when i was working at aba some years back as an intern, the secretary at the office was seriously ill, slumped at the office. she was rushed to a hospital after the check up and all, she needed blood. we contacted her family and they refused. this lady had a card in her purse to say (cant remember the exact words) she was JW and wont accept blood transfusion. On a lighter note, found this a lil amusing anyways. attended a JW wedding somwhr in surulere. we had riddles and jokes, cross sword (bible competition) and finally, when it was time to give d couple gifts, a different section was created outside the reception hall for all those with gifts. you av to queue up, unwrap your gifts to show the content and you write down your name so the couple can contact you after the wedding. |

18th century Afonja (Are-Onakakanfo) Sheik Alimi, ILORIN These heroes of Ilorin arrived Ilorin at different times and in different circumstances. Sheik Alimi was an Islamic Missionary propagating Islam and its teachings across the land. He sojourned for many years through villages and towns across Yoruba land. He had followers with whom he moved around to establish the tenets and principles of Islam. He was temporarily settled at Kuwo village very close to Ilorin where he built mosques and houses. From Kuwo, Sheik Alimi continued to explore other territories where he could spread and establish his beliefs and settle down permanently. During the course of his exploration, Sheik Alimi discovered a river that flows through villages, which he sought to know its origin. That river is river Asabuh known today as river Asa. He traced the origin of the river to the present day Ilorin. He thus began to visit the area with the aim of propagating Islam. He later settled at a hamlet within the vicinity of the river. The hamlet was occupied by the Fulani, his kinsmen. The hamlet was known as Gaa Fulani and headed by Olufadi. Around this location were other hamlets like Idiape, Okesuna, and Gambari which also had their traditional heads. Within these hamlets was a major spot where there was a big stone that was used by the locals to sharpen their metal objects such as farm implements. That spot where the stone is located was referred to as Ilo-Irin. It served as a meeting point for the locals to interact. Unfortunately, Sheik Alimi could not interact with the people due to language barrier so he relied on Olufadi, his host, to interpret for him As Sheik Alimi began to interact with the people with the aid of Olufadi, he warmed his way into the heart of the people. Meanwhile, Afonja, the Are-Onakakanfo of Oyo Ile, a war commander of the then Alaafin Aole of Yorubas was in a nearby hamlet, close to Gaa Fulani seeking refuge having lost a war, the Iwere war. In the then Yoruba tradition, a warlord must win any war failing which he must commit suicide. Having lost a war and not ready to die, Afonja fled his native land, Oyo Ile, to escape the wrath of the Alaafin. He therefore sought refuge at Idiape. While in the community, Afonja with his status as a veteran warrior became very influential and powerful. He soon began to threaten peoples of nearby hamlets which hitherto have their leaders such as Gambari that had Hausa people with their leader known as Sarkin Gambari, Okesuna headed by Solagberu and even Gaa Fulani where Olufadi was. However, as at the time of Sheik Alimi's arrival at Gaa Fulani, there was palpable tension in the hamlet and its environs occasioned by the threat of Alaafin to invade the hamlets and effect the arrest of the fugitive Are-Onakakanfo, Afonja. Afonja had sought the support of the people around him to protect him by not allowing Alaafin's soldiers to penetrate the hamlets, let alone, effect his arrest. It is in the light of the forgoing, that news filtered to Afonja that a spiritualist with awesome power was in their midst i.e. Sheik Alimi. Afonja contacted Sheik Alimi and an agreement was reached that they will work together to defeat the Alaafin 's army. When the Alaafin army came calling, they were utterly defeated and this deepened the relationship between Afonja and Sheik Alimi. Afonja encouraged Sheik Alimi to take up permanent residence in that area with a promise of sharing war bounties together. From time to time, during the course of wars, any captured prisoners of war will be divided and Sheik Alimi will have his share. While Afonja used his as slaves, Sheik Alimi converted his own P.O.W to Muslims and subsequently set them free to normal lives devoid acrimony or animosity. This kind gesture of Sheik Alimi endeared him to many people of diverse cultures with in the hamlets who saw him as a compassionate person. However after so many internal and external wars which further polarized the camps of both men and made them suspicious of each other, an eventual confrontation ensued and Alimi defeated Afonja. Having defeated Afonja, Sheik Alimi extended a hand of friendship to other hamlets nearby and formed a larger community with a common belief and destiny, which he headed. That community is now known as Ilorin . The city was named after that major meeting point of the people as a testimony of the unity of the people. |
in as much as we all like osaze and he has been in great form, indiscipline has to be kicked out of our football. when the french coach did it to some players at the world cup, we all applauded him, Sir Alex Ferguson does it so why are we complaining that siasia has done same? |
The Nigerian culture doesn't give room for women hyphenating their names. only about 2% (my own stat) of women do that and most of them are ladies from wealth or influential back ground. Na mouth all these women them dey joor. for those that are married, give us proof that u use a double barreled last name and for those not married, we will wait till you get married. |
This is another reason DSTV increased their subscription at this time so they wont have to do it when the next season starts |
