LiteratureRe: English Speaking Versus Writing, Which Is More Difficult? by 360command: 8:14pm On Sep 24, 2012
A Burkina babe of mine writes well in her English rather than when she speaks the English. She says to me on her use of spoken English, it does not come natural while she is speaking. She tends to think of what to say. But when she writes in English, she is settled and makes her know what to write. I believe she is perfect in her writing compared to when she speaks English.

This can be applied to some of our great writers as well as great public speakers. There are some people who tends to deliver very well in writing than when spoken. vice-versa. I believe it all depends on the individual.

which one b 'are u 4 real', ? u tink say Nollywood and yoruba movies dey d same category.. people dey wella wey no sabi Funke Akindele.. if i was not a lagosian, how i wan take know funke if not true the yoruba movies dem dey show for lagos tv.Also, i know dey watch 9ja movies(nollywood), how u wan make i know d actors or actresses wey dey d movies.. guy/girl, if person b popular for Lagos, dat one no mean say he/she popular for the whole 9ja.

if sarkodie(ghana artist) na popular guy for ein country, dat one no mean say ein na popular guy for Nigeria.. tins no dey apply like that.

If Thomas sankara of burkina faso is noted as an icon of revolutionary in their politics amongst other burkinabe or francophone regions, dat one no mean say he is popular in nigeria or the anglophone regions.

are you 4 real no dey apply that way........

CrimeRe: Drug Traffickers Rounded Up At Abuja Airport by 360command: 9:21am On Sep 22, 2012
gulfer: You are here: Home / Feature / Crime Digest / Drug traffickers rounded up at Abuja Airport

Udoka Egbuchelam, 26, and four other suspected drug traffickers were recently arrested by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency with 7.1kg of narcotics.

The arrests were made at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, when the suspects attempted to smuggle 1.1kg of methamphetamine and 6kg of cocaine.

NDLEA Commander at the Abuja Airport, Mr. Hamisu Lawan, gave the names of the remaining suspects as Ezechi Nwabueze (45), Joel Uzoukwu (54), Okechukwu Obiora (36) and Everest Eze (32).

Lawan said, “Egbuchelam and Nwabueze, who ingested 1.1kg of methamphetamine and 95 wraps of cocaine respectively, were to board an Ethiopian Airline flight. While the former was bound for Malaysia, the latter was heading for Istanbul.

“Uzoukwu, who ingested 85 wraps of cocaine, Obiora, who ingested 91 wraps of cocaine, and Eze, who swallowed 54 wraps of cocaine, were all caught during the inward screening of flights.”

Nwabueze, who made a living selling shirts in Benin Republic, planned to deliver the drugs in Istanbul. “I am the only child of my parents. My problem began when my shop got burnt and there was nobody to help me. I was to deliver the drugs in Istanbul, Turkey,” he said.

Uzoukwu, Eze and Obiora, on the other hand, were caught in an attempt to smuggle in drugs from Brazil.

The Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, in confirming the incident, told CRIME DIGEST that Egbguchelam would have been killed if she been found in possession of the narcotics in Malaysia. “Drug trafficking is a capital offence in Malayisa and the penalty for it is death and am happy that the NDLEA has been able to prevent this from happening through its vigilance,” Giade said.
http://www.punchng.com/feature/crime-digest/drug-traffickers-rounded-up-at-abuja-airport/
for this guy 'Udoka Egbuchelam' going to malaysia, i think it was a good thing that the NDLEA stopped him cos its better he was stopped in Nigeria rather than face death sentence in Malaysia.

Hmmmmm

NUC
for real, i think u all need to know where the children of the so called NUC LEADERS schooled.
i am not sure they are schooling in Nigeria But OVERSEAS that y u see everyone traveling(running)out to obtain their Masters degree IN UK, US AND EVEN IRAQ grin
I am in full support of the so called re-sit program.

1) WHEN YOU DO LIKE TWELVE (12) TO FIFTEEN(15) COURSES AS TO THE MAXIMUM OF FOUR(4) THEY DO IN ABROAD
2) THEN THE PROBABILITY OF YOU FAILING ONE OR MORE COURSES SET IN
2) BECOS U FAILED SOME COURSES U NEED TO STAY EXTRA YEAR(S)
3) IF U FAILED AND U NEED TO STAY A YEAR THEN WHAT IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE ONE YEAR WONT TURN TO THREE BECOS OF THEIR STUPID STRIKE
4) THEN YOU END UP GRADUATING AT THE AGE OF 24 (IF YOU ARE LUCKY) OR ABOVE, SERVE THE NATION FOR A YEAR WHICH MAKES YOU 25 THEN YOU HAVE ONLY ONE YEAR TO COMPETE IN THE LABOR MARKET (MIN OF 26 YEARS OF AGE FOR MANAGEMENT TRAINEE PROGRAMS).

IMAGE LIFE IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES
ENTERED AT THE AGE OF 18YEARS
AND UR PROGRAM IS FOR 4YEARS
AND UR SCHOOL IS ON STRIKE FOR LIKE 2YEARS WITHIN THE 4YEARS
AND YOU HAVE A CARRY OVER FOR A YEAR BUT ANOTHER ONE YEAR STRIKE TO MAKE IT TWO YEARS
THEN YOU MIGHT END UP GRADUATING AT THE AGE OF 26
+ NYSC grin

AT THE END OF THE DAY, THEIR CHILDREN WILL COME BACK FROM LONDON MET AND STILL SECURE A JOB B4 YOU BECOS THEY DID NOT SCHOOL IN NIGERIA AND THEY ARE STILL YOUNG.

SEE NUC NEED TO GET THINGS RIGHT AND THEY SHOULD STOP MORTGAGING PEEPS FUTURE.
I agree with you on what you said, the Nigerian university are just been silly..one thing that annoys me is for a fact that we do about 9-14 courses in the first semester at against other university abroad doing 4-6 courses , thereby making the students in the Nigerian University have more failures when they probably do like 18-28 courses for that Full academic year. When i was studying at the private university in Nigeria, it was just silly when i was doing 18 courses for a full academic year and this went on to my 3rd year in the university(it was not easy passing those courses that were not relevant to what i was studying).

Unlike studying in the UK university doing their kind of programme of 8 courses for a full academic year, it makes my studies so easy and makes me feel like a bright student not having any form of failures.. I ask myself, anyone having a re-sit & studying in the UK programme, might not know what he/she is doing.. cos it is really so easy going through their system of education.

I think the number of courses one should be doing in the university needs to be reduced down to 10 or 11 courses for a full year instead of the rubbish 18-20 courses(most especially in the 1st year of the university) before NUC should think of banning resit exams.. my point is, our curriculum needs to be reviewed in the university. They need to check why people fail, why people resit exams, etc.

TravelRe: I Need Information On Tip To Seychelles by 360command: 3:02pm On Sep 19, 2012
its visa free for Nigerians to go to seychelles since the country is a common wealth nation. but why go that far when you can enjoy yourself in cape verde and spend less on flight travels. if you want to learn french, why dont you go to your next doors neighbors like Benin, Cameroon , Gabon .. well, here are some tips..

The living conditions in seychelles all depends on what you have/earn. Some people are earning 2500 rupees(190usd) a month and have to pay 4000 rupees(300usd) for rent a month (4000 rupees being a small flat), it just doesn't add up. Things have gotten expensive.

Food, unless your eating cheap fish, you'd be eating meat, which is very very expensive. Vegetables and every day needs are now also expensive. Also its not always in stock. When you hear there is powdered milk, everyone goes to town to rush in a get some before it runs out. You never know when the boats arrive to bring more. Thats the same with all items imported, including toilet paper.

Transport, there are public buses, not the pretty ones. And they are almost always packed like sardines. There is an international airport on mahe' and 2 domestic. One on mahe and one on prasline. People own cars, bikes, motorbikes and boats. Fuel costs alot. Alot of people leave cars at home and take the bus, which is never on time and not frequent.

The weather, well thats one good thing. 28 to 29 degrees Celsius all year round. There is monsoon season, which means the seas are rough and fish is rare.

Health care is completely free. But is not so good. If you get ill and need surgery, I believe you need to go somewhere else.

AutosRe: I Need The Cost Of Shipping A Car From Germany To Apapa Port by 360command: 2:37pm On Sep 19, 2012
You will have to contact a few shipping companies for quotes. They need to assess the amount of cubic meters (cbm) your shipment will be, because shipping goes according to the space the goods take up on the ship or in the container. A whole container for your goods alone (either a 20 foot or a 40 foot container) will be cheaper per cbm than a shared container.

Clearance and customs also have to be added on to this quote, which will also depend on how much cargo, where it comes from and goes to etc.

If you have an idea of the cbm of your goods, you can phone in and ask. Just measure the height, length and depth of the box or chest, multiply by each other and you will get the cbm. Something 1 m x 1m x 1m = 1 cbm.------- in this case, you must know the vehicle type, if its a saloon vehicle or 4X4 vehicle.

Look in the yellow pages for a few shipping companies, freight services.

i hope this might help you in a little way..

@ op, your friend should look back and think of how he loved his wife, was it for sex or love?

Also, during their dating relationship, did they date for long, maybe 10 months to 2years? Or they dated for 6 months before they got married? Little or no dating relationship can spoil a marriage quickly.

Now that your friend is tired with the marriage thing, I strongly suggest you advice him on re-packaging the marriage relationship by bringing back the old times into play. Probably, they can travel for a 3 day trip to a neighbouring state, the wife should endeavour to do the things he liked when they were dating back then.- if d wife was wearing jeans, she should wear jean. Let them bring back old memories of their date relationships.

I would not say that Nigerians are too loud and lousy, but this can be actually be explained in different ways. What do you mean by too loud and lousy?

I think there are some Nigerians who have tried to air their mind or right to other people but the people see it as we are too loud and lousy. I will give you an example. I once travelled from from ghana to ivory coast on visit& holiday by road in a bus, at the border area after when everybody had done passport checking, verification as well as stamping, the bus driver decided to leave us inside the bus and started chatting outside. The chat went on for about 40mins,everybody in the bus kept silence, only for the Nigerian man to have gone high at his voice by saying 'where is the driver?what are you still doing by chatting there?time is not on our side,we need to be moving' - his voice raised an alarm, only for the conductor(ghanian) to have come inside and approach this Nigerian guy by saying,' are you a nigerian' ? The nigerian man replied, 'Yes I am'. The conductor said; this is how you people are.(This was a bad or wrong judgement to me)

I then intervened by saying to the conductor 'u must be very stupid for saying that to the Nigerian, he is trying to air his mind. What is the driver doing by leaving his bus, chatting with another, while we wait for him for over 50mins(after the nigerian man confronted with the ghanian conductor). Everybody saw reasoning to what I said and then the driver came in after he heard the voices of the Nigerians(I & the other Nigerian) from outside. As the driver was moving, that was when every ghanian and ivorian were making noise by yelling at the driver asking him 'why the delay'.

In my heart, I said , thank God for this nigerian for airing his right and not been loud&lousy(as the conducted said we are) about it . Some people just turns it round and say we are loud and lousy when we are just trying to make a point. It was because of the Nigerian guy,the driver came in and drove off.
