Mcowubaba: Exactly, the long lasting Apartheid system, and colonial existence in South Africa, inversely developed the country,
South Africa has useless leaders like Nigeria, even their current president Jacob Zuma, has lots of corruption cases hanging on his side.
If the British colonial masters were in Nigeria longer, probably till 1996, believe me Nigerian will be much better in terms of infrastructural development and human development.
That being said, I know South Africa is a step ahead of Nigeria in terms of Development and technological advancement, not that their leaders are better, the whites were in charge longer. that means, the white mans mentality is better than we blacks.. If we think the way you have written, africa won't develop. |

corpershun: I on the other hand live in Nigeria and I have needs for credit but cannot get because interest rate is high and not affordable. Please there is no how you can compare the UK in terms of standard of living, welfare and life expectancy to Nigeria. My tailor took loan from a microfinance bank 100,000 naira to repay 150,000 for 6 months. If the monthly repayment money is short of 700 naira, the way those people would come to disgrace you in the shop, you won't wish for your enemy to collect loan.
I hope you are aware the current life expectancy of an average Nigerian is 54 years predicted to 44 years if the country's economic condition continues like this.
My dear the truth is, it is only the wealthy/very rich that enjoy this country, the poor and middle class are left suffering. The road to my street is very bad, my light is rationalised, IKEDC has refused to give me the pay as you use meter due to corruption yet give me exorbitant bill, the waste company doesn't come pick up thrash because of the road, I spend so much on fuel daily, I can't cook so much and freeze as there is no light. Now if all these basic amenities cannot be met, tell me what I am enjoying in the country as a citizen even though I pay my tax both directly and indirectly. I bought pizza for 2400 and the tax deducted was 350; Just Imagine!
OP wonderful thread, I have learnt a lot. You are very fortunate. c dis my guy dey confess. If na me write this one on ghana 9ja thread saying life in ghana is peace, some people will write Nigeria is big, 9ja GDP na heaven, 9ja get oil, ghana no get anything, small ghana, ghana na country, .. Some wud go as far as calling me betrayer. Some will say I dey lie.. Now, this my guy dey hear am.... To enjoy nigeria, u have to be rich but been poor in nigeria, you go suffer.. If u b poor man for ghana, your life still dey ok... Between, did you not vote for buhari? I know that, those who voted for buhari, na dem dey suffer pass.. But in Yankee, even if the girl was the one that put your ogede inside her ponyor, then she has a change of mind during the act and you do in and out after that change of heart, it is rape.
... na so e b for ghana constitution.. It came live when I went to court with a Ghanaian girl filing for a divorce.. While in court, I heard a girl telling the court that she had enough of his gbola and told him to take it off but the guy refused and kept on pounding her she felt pain, she cried and had to push the guy off but what landed him in trouble was the fact that he assaulted the babe which made her to report... That was a learning experience for me in the court. Sometimes u can b yanshing a gh babe and she go tell u is enough but na so u go dey go saaa but wen d babe tell you "its a rape o".. At that moment I will take a breather and try to negotiate with her and negotiate well... |
