bigheadday: @40manlappy... Thanks a million. She's 30 with Bsc and all that. But I believe I can do better in the IELTS than her. Though I want her to write the April exam just to boost our points but not sure she will make that much grade in the IELTS to enable her be the principal applicant. What advice would you proffer bros? I appreciate your input so much. Thank you. As for the valid job offer, no I don't have any. Is there a way out of it? Though I have over 6 years experience here in naija. Further advice will be much appreciated bros. Thanks a lot. It is very difficult to get a job in Canada while you are still in Nigeria, not saying that it is impossible. Why don't you focus on those things that you have control over? What makes you think that you can do better than your wife? Don't underestimate her. You may be pleasantly surprised. Let me share my experience with you: When we wrote our IELTS back then in December 2014, I thought I would do better than my wife. Interestingly, she too acknowledged the fact that I could do better. However, when the results came out, she easily attained CLB 9 while I "managed" to clinch CLB 8. Frankly speaking, she prepared harder than i did! Women can go extra mile when they believe in a cause. All you need to do is to motivate and encourage her. She could become more passionate about the Canadian dream than you eventually. For a start, please share with the house your age, educational qualifications and your spouse's full educational qualifications and work experience. It may give us an idea of what further suggestions to proffer. Due to her age, she could turn out to be a better choice as the primary applicant. Let me allow the gurus to put mouth inside too cc: dupyshoo |

@bigheadday
If you don't have a valid job offer, simply answer "No".
Age may no longer be on your side.
To get a higher score, you may encourage your wife to write IELTS. Try to evaluate her educational qualifications too so that you can claim more points through her.
On the other hand, you may consider your wife as the principal applicant if younger and has more qualifications. Use the CRS Tool to determine who stands a better chance. |

lavivaavril: Your spouse should request for an attestaion letter or statement of result and use instead. I used my msc attestation letter along with my transcripts and WES evaluated my degree to a Canadian equivalent. Best of luck Thanks so much. She already has the attestation letter but we didn't know that we could use that. Indeed, information is power! |

Did you evaluate your degree(s)? My MBA is awaiting IQAS evaluation. Msc certificates for my spouse's set (UNILAG) is not ready though she has applied for transcript in favour of IQAS. @all: Does anyone have a reliable contact at Unilag? |

boldinc: Amen... Are you in the pool yet? What's your score right now if so? Been in the pool since 2015. Spouse is the principal applicant but my IELTS result expired recently. Created a new profile with a CRS score of 397, no thanks to me. |

boldinc: I don't think it's advisable to do that cos your IELTS score is a major determinant in the CRS that gets you ITA... I think you should wait really. Wednesday is only a few days away and I believe your case would be an ITA not NOI. Amen @bolded Like I stated, it was a wild thought really that wasn't worth considering. Discarded it since As much as I would prefer an ITA not tied to any province, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. We are hoping to move to the 400+ plus club next week, God willing. |

dupyshoo: You can put in a future date as the expiry date of the passport, since you have plans to renew his passport soon. Once you get the new passport, you will put in the details after ITA. This may appear to be a "wild thought": Do you think this can work for an expired IELTS? Can one modify IELTS details post-ITA? Results should be out next week Wednesday though. Just thinking of the OINP quota for 2017 Looping: boldinc |

Kathyjex: Hi team my IELTS result came out today and I am disappointed. SLWR 7.5,8.5,6,7. The writing dropped my score. Apparently it's one of the subjective ones. Don't know what to do? I would have been on CRS of 448 if I had 7 in writing. Please do you think I should apply for remark? If you are very confident about your Writing and you have about 15k to spare, then you can apply for a remark. You can confirm the current information on the British Council/IELTS website. However, from what I have seen and read so far, most remarks then to give additional 0.5 at best. So check the CRS Tool and see if an additional 0.5 to your Writing score will add to your CRS score. If otherwise, please retake the test and focus more on your weaker parts. All the best. cc: Garykasparov, dupyshoo |

HTC2017: Oh, nice! They say processing takes 7 working days after having received all documents--which you have now faxed. Lol I don't know if you can create an EE profile using the reference number assigned to you since it mayn't change. Maybe pros in the house can advise. Cc: @vcole @dupsyhoo @boldinc @esosa4real @JesusDWay @wunmimi @jesusbaby01 You need ECA report before you can create an EE profile. As @optionese rightly mentioned, IQAS stated 10 working days on their website but they also included a caveat that it could take longer depending on the qualification. I am hoping for a faster assessment though |

Kathyjex: Hi please how does IQAS work? How much is it? Do they accept transcript from the individual and not directly from school? How does the fax system work? How long to get response? How do they send ECA CIC and individual?
Looking FWD to your response. IQAS IS CAD 200 for the initial qualification + CAD 15 for every additional qualification+ CAD 15 for courier charges within Canada + CAD 75 for outside Canada. The institution must send your transcript to IQAS directly. Just Google "hellofax"; it is very user-friendly. I am using IQAS for the first time. |

Kathyjex: Hi, my situation seems same as yours. Have you done WES evaluation?
I am interested in OINP too. Assessed our BSc degrees back then with ICAS. It took them nearly 6 months to conclude! WES and IQAS are better in terms of turnaround time. Just applied for my MBA assessment with IQAS. |

boldinc: Oh really? I assumed you were already in the pool. What's your highest possible score, assuming you get maximum points in your IELTS.
Tried replying your PM, but it bounced back... not sure why. *modified No worries @PM Hmm... We have been in the pool for some time. Wifey is the principal applicant. Our current score is 397 because I allowed my IELTS result to expire. Possible scores start from 425 but could be higher upon positive evaluation of my MBA and wifey's Msc. Frankly speaking, I am the one delaying her on this Canny venture. |

boldinc: Ontario application is open now... I will advise you create a new profile and chose Ontario as a province you will like to stay in. Once you do that, you should get an NOI immediately or thereabout. Your score is over 400 right?
Also, you have to pay a fee of 1,500 CAN USD when you submit your application. Thanks for the heads up. Waiting for IELTS test result |

boldinc: Ontario selects continuously until they close up (I guess that's the point they exhaust their quota).
As dupyshoo said earlier, you need to state Ontario as a province of choice while filling your profile.
Most times, people had to re-create their profile as it seemed Ontario went after only newly created profiles with 400 and above score. Thank you |
