Are you sure that $1 stands for 330 NGN? But I use the transition tool, it shows 200 NGN per us dollar.

It seems that you have not done FX-denominated transactions for some time. Try xe.com

blackweaver:
your new phone, does it run a different version of android from the old phone? I suspect it might be permission issue, maybe your whastapp cannot access your contacts. Backup your whatsapp folder, uninstall whatsapp then reinstall from the play store. If you cannot access your whatsapp conversations restore the whatsapp folder you backed up

My old phone runs on 4.2.2 version of Android while my new phone runs on 5.1.1 (MIUI 7.3)

I have tried your suggestion above before now and yet, no changes. Will try it again.

yaaa they do

I hereby officially declare Part II of the thread open today.

Hello, I got a new Android device and recovered my Whatsapp chats. However, I noticed that my phone contacts did not sync "namewise" with my Whatsapp contacts i.e. unlike before, my Whatsapp contacts are ONLY displaying phone numbers and not the names of my contacts.

I have rebooted my phone several times, deleted and reinstalled Whatsapp twice on the phone but nothing has changed. When someone chats me up, I need to check our past chats or the profile picture to determine who I am chatting with. This is really frustrating, to say the least.

Has anyone experienced this? How was it resolved? Thank you.

It is a workable option to retain all your WhatsApp conversations after formatting your Android phone. You can also transfer your WhatsApp conversations from one Android phone to another. Formatting is supposed to clear your smartphone of all user-installed applications and inputs, and sets the device to its factory settings. However, you may wish to have your WhatsApp conversations back to your phone after a format. Furthermore, in the event that you want to dispose of your phone, you may also want to retain your WhatsApp conversations, and put them in a new phone.

go to aliexpress then order instead if disturbing yourself

Does aliexpress accept debit cards? I saw the Mastercard logo on their website but not sure if it was for credit cards.

Thanks for your responses @Gymme, Princey83, Etfash. I appreciate

Gymme:
Gymme, guru? No pls. Just sharing ideas based on my experience here in Canny.

I would advise you go for the Manitoba application.

LOL @bolded

What are the reasons for the above conclusion? Someone earlier advised that we should not focus on just one province. I just want to broaden my knowledge please.

Good evening irondome, dupyshoo, zandora, JesusDWay, Slimmsyyetty, Tola73, Etfash, beyunce, hartson, princey83, Gymme, other gurus

We recently applied for Manitoba PNP having received Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) from the Province.

Few days ago, we both received a mail from New Brunswick inviting us to attend their Information Session in Dubai in respect of their PNP. A friend actually encouraged us to register for the event before we got LAA from Manitoba.

My question is this: considering the financial implications of attending the session in the UAE, do you think it is really worth it to attend when we have already applied for the Manitoba PNP?

NB:Spouse is the primary applicant but we both applied for the New Brunswick Information Session.

dupyshoo:
Hi all,

The journey that started last year May has finally come to an end. We finally landed in Canada yesterday. Glory to God as we are now officially Permanent Residents of Canada. Nothing much was asked except if we have new family members and if we have any criminal record. Even POF was not asked.

Want to wish everyone with their applications still in process all the best. For those that are still awaiting ITA and PNP, God will perfect it and finally for those who are contemplating on starting this Canadian PR journey, please start as soon as you can, you have got nothing much to lose.

I will still be on the forum to answer any questions you may have but I won't be able to answer any job related questions as we are only doing short landing. We will be travelling back home in the next few weeks as we are not planning to move to Canada permanently until the next 2 years.

Congrats dupyshoo. More blessings!

Will like to know more about this "short-landing"

JonesPW:
Deal all, have you got this smartphone with $69.99? You can enter the link I offered on last comment and get it.

How much is this in NGN? Does it have double sim?

JonesPW:
It is $69.99 during the pre-sale. So it is about 14k NGN.

Seriously? With the current FX rates?

@bobo65 and @blackweaver

Thanks a lot. Will do as advised.

Gurus, how do I move my phone contacts from one Android device to another?

I exported my contacts to Gmail but they are not syncing with the new phone.

I took your advise and so many information has been excavated.
There are sites that even aid migrants in securing jobs in NZ. I will name them shortly.

Good one. That's what we are talking about

Keep them coming!

Something is funny about Nigerians and travelling. If a country is not in hot demand, they will never go for its Visa. However, travelling to some countries are the lee ways of having access to the big ones.
Some 10 years ago Canada and Australia was not popular today the reverse is the case.
I see NZ getting tougher soonest.

You are discerning. "Flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee..."

Thanks. Please provide the link to the above information.

Omas Investment & Trust Company Limited. I also Googled the name and found out that NSE has revoked their license for being inactive.

Intendy:
you can check the prices of your stock every trading days on www.nse.com.ng

secondly, what's the name of the undergone brokers? may be the did a merger or got acquired by another firm

Godisfaithful:
Response sent sir. I'm sorry for the delay!

Good day. I bought stocks of the following companies around 2007/2008: CCNN, DANGFLOUR, DIAMONDBNK, ECOBANK, ETERNAOIL, FIRSTBANK, UBN, JAPAULOIL, LIVESTOCK, STDINSURE, UNOVINSURE.

Due to the erosion of value in the NSE thereafter, I lost interest in stocks and stopped following up.

I still have my last "investor account details" printed for me in 2008 and CSCS and Investors Account nos but the stockbroking firm that I used then has gone under.

What are the current prices of these stocks now and their prospects? How can I check the current status of my stock holdings? I have lost touch with stocks.

If you wish to claim points for your work experience in your current work place, then yes - you will need a 'Letter of Experience' from your employer. The letter must follow a specific format, which can be found on the CIC website, and can be addressed to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Please give me the link to the relevant portion of the CIC website. Is it ok to address the letter to "To Whom It May be Concerned"?
