these guys who say they a helping girls are just naive and that is plain immaturity...if you dont have the liver to say no in the first place you have no right to claim that you are nice.... |
lets do the reverse....Now in one sentence express how you feel when you see a High class person putting on the same piece clothes that you have on...i mean someone like A celeb, CEO of a Telco, Dangote's Son....waiting |
seriously what do you make of this?
|
@ THOSE BASHING THE OP FOR BEING AN IDIOT AND AN ARROGANT FOOL, DO YOU GUYS THINK YOU ARE ANY BETTER BECAUSE YOU DID NOT START A "CONDESCENDING "THREAD LIKE THIS....THE OP WOULD HAVE BEEN A SAINT "LIKE YOU AND I" IF HE DID NOT SPEAK OUT WAS ON HIS MIND.....SO DROP THAT HOLIER THAN THOU LINE!!! For those who are living out intensely the fact of the "equality" of human persons in their daily lives WILL NOT BASH the OP rather they would try to "win him over" having understood how vain the human person could be. I have found freedom knowing that every human being is great and is given being for a grand destiny |
Funny none of the bible reading, catholic attacking Christians is yet to explain my earlier posts based on the scripture in John 20:21-22 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” What most hate is not "the Catholic church but what you believe is the Catholic Church" am quoting Cardinal Newman a convert from prostestantnism |
Pastor Adeboye is one of the Pastor i respect but he surely mistaken if he spoke against the Christian rite of confession which Jesus himself expressly instituted. What was the very first thing Jesus did after his glorious Resurrection? He breathed on his Apostles and said "receive ye the Holy Spirit, for whosoever sins you forgive are forgiven whosoever sin you retain are retained" How will the Apostles execrise this power if not by hearing confessions? i WONDER HOW WE CAN TWIST THE BIBLE TO SUIT OUR TASTES AND FANCIES? |
First of all am not a member of the RCCG or even a Pentecostal or let alone a protestant....am a Catholic! But i understand perfectly where The Pastor is coming from when he proposed that members of the RCCG "should not marry outside the RCCG" Its nothing new just native wisdom...perhaps it did not come out well from the Man of God....but reading the entire text you can see that is what our parents would suggest strongly.....MARRY WITHIN OUR TRIBE! Its only logical to start looking from where you are, God who placed you there had a reason for planting you there! However if your sincere, thorough search leads you outside then its in line with reason. |
The title of the thread states- what is wrong with virgins? And the first couple of comments talk about girls declaring that they are virgins and indirectly bashing them for speaking up. So what exactly am I not getting about the thread? Is It the fact that girls are speaking up or the fact that people are assuming that they have hidden intentions for speaking up. If you would ask me it is not in your or my position to question anyones motive. For heaven sake- if she says she is a virgin- who cares to know her purpose for saying it. Why should it bite anybody if a girl states that she is a virgin? If you choose to listen or in this case read- you have an option to appreciate or be indifferent about it. If it strikes a nerve - then there is more to it. I think it's a bit low for one to bash another one for what they stand for. You have to respect everyone for the choices they make because you just never know where they are coming from. I don't believe it's the right thing to sleep around or have premarital sex- but that does not give me the liberty to go around calling people names and at the same time it doesn't change what I believe is right. We all have our opinions about life and have different guides through our journey here on earth- you should respect people's choices and don't feel threatened - especially if you think you are doing the right thing. You talk about taking a poll- and I'm like seriously? You see where I am going. Why go an extra length to do CIA runs to prove another person wrong on issues like this. Totally uncalled for! If someone is telling me something and I think it's a fab- I "yimu" and dismiss it- which one is prove again- you tell the truth good for you, you tell a lie- bad for you. Which one concerns me? I would stress it again- it's important to speak up when the need arises. The intentions of our actions matter a lot especially to God. I doubt that virgins who have an understanding of what they are doing would broadcast it for the wrong reasons. I seriously cannot come up with a wrong reason why I would tell a random person that- but in a forum like this - where one states that they are virgins for whatever reason and is bashed for talking- totally unacceptable! Don't get me wrong- you can say whatever- it's a free world but don't expect every to go down the bashing lane with you. I am not a regular on this forum- I just come here to unwind and grab some news and laughs. So I'm guessing I got in between a thug of war and at this point- I am done going in circles. I choose to agree to disagree with you- the koko of my epistle - let whoever say whatever they choose to say for whatever reasons they choose to. It's our job to believe, appreciate, yimu", and not investigate on a faceless forum their motives of stating whatever they state. But then again- it's a free world - so you can choose to. Let me add striving to stay away from sex and abiding in the boundaries it was created for, striving to do the right thing, striving to show love, striving to live in peace with others , striving to speak and think right..... Are not things we can do solely on our own- we draw on grace that is made available to us. 1 cor 10:12; Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” Miss WAM?
Articulate!!! Bashing people for their beliefs is indicative of bad taste. |
@OP but are the guys any better? ignorance is the biggest problem with both guys and girls, just that the males feel they are more justified to misbehave then our ladies. |
drnoel: Ooh no, not another virgin thread....(he looks arnd, pucks and leaves the thread)Yes another "virgin" thread that was VERY obviously from the title but you HAD to enter to PUKE,.....nobody likes to look at their accounts (financial or moral)if is it in the red....whereas it is in the looking at ourselves in the mirror that we can become better
You need to strike a balance of course. There is a clear difference between a slut and a couple of sexual partners. It all depends on what you want. I have no beef with virgins but I am not sure I could handle one. I leave it to the more experienced men
Is it human to "have a couple of sexual partners"(whether simultaneously or otherwise)? the problem of our generation is that we don't know who we are, with many being preys of "popular opinion" as to how the individual should live their life, the other extreme being a lack of the use of reason or rather a mistaken, biased use of reason. How do we come to the judgement that sex is an act, casual as the the things one do as a pastimes.....if not from the media.....because the movies show is its not a biggie to sleep with your girlfriend or have a nightstand with someone you just met a club then its not a biggies! We should go beyond this... |
Because virginity does not work both ways. Virginity is the preserve of women. Male virgins are not only despised but actually mocked. Sexual experience in a man is a must for most women but sexual experience is not a must for most men. Virgin women however must be lousy lays. I wonder why people bother with them.... oh well I have made it abundantly clear in some "virgin" threads that true virginity is about one's conception of their sexuality which is basically about it being in sync with the primordial needs of your person, which fundamentally is love. Anybody who has lumped "sexual experience" by sleeping around according to the dictates of their base instincts is not be true to their humanity....if you consider mating like a feat then was the difference between you an the beasts we see on National Geography. just incase you are wondering.... am not a "virgin" but i respect my sexuality! |
The discussion/arguments on this thread is quite significant even though am not comfortable with the fact that its as if is all about the ladies' mess-up leaving all the guys as though they were saints! For many in our generation, marriage is tragically reduced as a socio-cultural exigency; thus if as a lady you are not married before 28 you are made to believe that you are at the brink of your doom(for guys, 35 i think). The mentality is like if you are not married you could never be truly happy or your chances of finding fulfillment is finally finished that's as plain ridiculous as men/women who deliberately opt in to single parenthood in another to circumvent the commitment of the marital institution! Happiness, is what makes me desire, what makes me dream, what drives me on to realize my desires and dreams for meaning, for truth, for beauty, for a love that never fades. For those who will marry with the right reasons(have we ever wondered what the right reasons could be?) marriage hence promises and offers those entering into her institution the possibility of realizing their heart's desire, especially those of the primordial nature. A Marriage is not something you actually make happen, when it happens, how it happens its not in the hand of anybody per se....but we have been gratuitously endowed with freedom by our Creator, thus a man can "buy" a wife into the big house he just bought in Lekki phase one, just as the woman could manipulate a man(she discovers works in Chevron) until he walks her to the altar. Small wonder divorce rates are on an astronomical heights in Nigeria in recent years but and it is not only from couples living in Lekki, couples living in the Igandos of our country are also filing for divorce....so the longevity of marriage its not by wealth or the lack of it:its by the right motives(we deal with that on another thread). There is definitely time for everything our role is just to be ready, to be prepared more and more, by the day, even by the second! Nothing attracts others than an unpretentious disposition of happiness; a lady(or man) with this quality would never pass her prime. Marriage is for "adults" with youthful zest! |
RealBitch: I've Noticed that the so called 'alpha' male's over-confidence/domineering attitude is actually masking deeply ingrained insecurity and the beta male's ability to hand control over to his partner is trust and quiet confidence. And I dont mind being called 2000 times a day.So true!I fit into the so-called Beta, well am grateful for it! but we don't whine nor a we that clingy; our quiet self confidence! |
Like a child that thinks that he’s grown up, I withdrew my hand from your loving, firm grip in my mistaken use of my will to embrace the glitter that has caught my untrained eyes. Yet you let me wander, for you won’t let me walk with you out of compulsion, I wonder how you never fail to let me exercise the use of the freedom you have gratuitously bequeathed me. Despite all that I all I sought, I found nothing but hollows that did not match my heart’s innate demands for beauty, justice truth and happiness, for they were supposed to be signs not the substance. Disillusioned I cry like the babe that I am to you, before you, only more confident that you have never failed to show up even though it will seem like an eternity. I have come to know that you will never stop loving me; I know you are madly in love with me and that this affection persists in spite of my heinous recalcitrant acts... you even use it to prove it more how much you have cared for me ever since you have conceived me in your mind. |
@op Great expressive Post i wont call the Former group of men ALPHA as though they were superior to the so-called Beta....they are just variations in the male gender. The ladies who have responded so far are on point every man "ALPHA" or "BETA" should know themselves and make up for what is lacking in the psyche! know male type is superior! |
You are here: Home / Business / Jonathan seeks feedback from Nigerians on power supply Jonathan seeks feedback from Nigerians on power supply AUGUST 16, 2012 BY AGENCY REPORTER 154 COMMENTS President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday sought “honest feedback” from Nigerians on claims by the Ministry of Power that the nation’s energy situation had improved significantly. Last week, the Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji, had told Nigerians that generation rose to 4237MW at 9p.m on August 6.But, in a move to get a direct feel of the impact of the improved supply on the people, Jonathan through his media team on Wednesday asked Nigerians to choose from three options in a survey. In a post on Twitter by his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr. Reno Omokri, wrote, “Has the power situation in your area A. Improved B.Remained the same or C. Deteriorated. Please give honest feedback.” Nigerians are expected to give the feedback by Twitter (@renoomokri) or Facebook. The Federal Government had on Sunday raised hopes of improvement in power supply by announcing plans to raise electricity output from 4,300 megawatts to 9,000mw in a few months. The declaration was contained in an advertorial placed in some newspapers by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs. The advertorial outlined Jonathan’s achievements in the last one year as well as his determination to reach the new target upon completion of the 10 projects under the National Integrated Power Plants. The projects are Ihovbor in Edo State (451mw); Omotosho in Ondo State (451mw); Olorunsogo in Ogun State (750mw); Sapele in Delta State (451mw); Geregu in Kogi State (434mw); Egbema in Imo State (338mw); Gbarain in Bayelsa State (225mw); Omoku in Rivers State (225mw); Calabar in Cross River State (561mw); and Alaoji in Abia State (1074mw). “This administration met 10 abandoned NIPP projects and has successfully revitalised all. More importantly, they are all within the range of 95-100 per cent completion stage and are awaiting gas supply, which government has taken very concrete steps to address. “Government has improved power generation from under 3,000mw in 2011 to 4,300mw by August 2012. “Therefore, when the 10 NIPP projects are fully on stream, which will be within the next few months, the total national generation capacity will not be less than 9000mw, a 200 per cent increase in generating capacity as compared with the figures for 2011 and the highest ever by any administration since independence,” the Presidency said in the statement signed by the Media Director in the office, Mr. Olusanya Awosan. http://www.punchng.com/business/jonathan-seeks-feedback-from-nigerians-on-power-supply/ |
Altar ready as in ready to strut the aisle not firewoods and axe lol |
What does it mean to be altar-ready these days for a guy/lady? |
I observe that unadulterated love can not thrive in the Nigerian community; spent some time in East Africa earlier in the year and found out its far cry from whats obtainable back here; and the reason is that we here have become so sophisticated, lost our simplicity, have false idea of what we truly need and whats worse we don't believe again its naturally attainable so we play cards...and like the OP noted does not work ultimately. |
Landers are always talking about "mature" threads and here is one of 'em and its not trending |
These days the art of love between opposite genders seems to lie in the ability to pass of to the other person that you love them more, until they actually believe it! while all the while your emotions are not even involved....its like a competition to surpass each other in the grand deceit which is justified by the reason of the preservation of the heart....an affection that is staged, partly or wholly is not love. |
"hot" girls make me wanna throw up! |
@those "accusing" me of being a virgin....lol! When has being a virgin mean having an impediment or a disease? well my definition of virginity is not reduced to not have had se.x but is far broader than that....i have come to realise that true virginity lies in the heart like Ogugua rightly pointed to! The physical presevation (as well as the psychological) is only a heart manifestation amongst others....strangely but trully, for the fact that your hymen is intact or you have not yet expeled an ejaculate in the body of a "female" does not necesarily mean your heart is virginal, virginity is about a certain self-awareness, self respect (as opposed to flagrant self abuse) and self love.....think i just will open a thread sometime later to dwell on this matter more! @ Sexkillz there is really no need to be un civil even if it's only an internet forum..... "the best part" is not about an untouched or unused reproductive organ or even the heart per se....as though we can conveniently dissect the composite state of the human person into two; experientially its not possible to mis-use our physical reality (bodies)while all the time our non-material(heart/mind) remain intact and vice versa! "The bast part" is that state of your SELF which is at the state of optimal quality and vibration, a word that best descibes is YOUTH! YOUTH is that zest for life and living; that belief in the beauty of life, of un-calculated loving; that connected-ness with the "original" needs of the heart; that baggage-less mind; that wholesome respect of your own body (not because one is shy or easily abashed)but one that stems from the understanding of the proper use of the body which coincides ith the primordial dictates of the herat! This is the reason why your love experience (MONEY APART)with a certain "ex" towers above what you are presently having now with your boyfriend/girlfriend or tragically even spouse: YOU LOVED WITH MORE YOUTH! Youth is not really about how old you are, but then "youth" is something you find naturally in teenagers and in those who did not have a wrong idea of the common mentality of "growing up"; thus a septuganarian can be youthful simply because they have preserved it having recognised it from the onset as a thing to be cherished without which existence itself is meaningless or they may re-discovered after realising how unbearable life has been without it. The best part is thia Youth quality..... nurture it for yourself, preserve/re-gain it for your future which consists in the first place of yourself; then your vocation(spouse, family, carreer) |
I wonder if young people these days think about there imminent marital future these days! It is not starnge to see a a young lady of 21 have "Ex-es" she could count with the fingers of her two hands! And Ex-es aren't just guys she had crushes on, or held hands with but rather persons she had "given her all to": emotionally, psycologically and even physically......and the same applies for the guys! If you go with her to 5 more years on with her/him they may need the toes on both feet to enumerate their Ex-es! After all of these youthful "expeditions" what is really left to give that person you would to spend the rest of your life with? the person you will bear and raise children with? the person who will stick their life for you through thick and thin....many times its a disillusioned minds, a splintered heart and tired bodies! As we say in Nairaland please give yourself BRAIN! lOVE your future, Love your spouse, Love your yourself! |
The number of people who lost their lives while scooping fuel from a fallen petrol tanker just yesterday is roughly the same as those who died in the Dana air crash about five weeks ago, but “strangely” the sad news has generated nothing but national silence......is it that we think they got what they deserved for being the greediest and dumbest group of people whose lucre brought upon themselves their tragic deaths? Its as if saying anything contrary is tantamount to not calling a spade a spade! .....yet there are many more who will not 'die' while "scooping" daily, funds from shady office deals or from the government coffers or from runs that some of our sisters are wont to be engaged in or that from internet scammers....they shine as they ride about in their fancy cars or ensconced in their luxury apartments and draped in the choicest attires and greeted obsequiously at social gatherings by hopefuls who won’t bat an eye even if they happen to be in the know of their illicit acquisitions. There maybe many among those who met their deaths in the pool of their loot and of course those who were burnt through sheer accident, to the former, should the first reaction be pity, indignation or outright condemnation? It’s important to stay before this event to see for ourselves that the deceased of yesterday were not so dissimilar to you and I...they were weak before temptation like you and I; they fell like every human born of a woman have fallen in each in her private closets but most of all they had the same destinies like You and I, and for all these we can’t just keep mute "lest our muttering be a disrespect of the dead" We ought dare to speak against greed wherever we find it, even if it may not be putting our neighbours "physical" lives in danger because we seem to be far more interested in breathing than in living. We must let the light of truth enter our consciousness as we truly begin to live with the simple gaze of a child on everything and with an open reason that does not presume….. thus we may banish whatever darkness that we find around especially that which we find within ourselves. Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them; and may their souls rest |
Obviously everyone is defending their own, but it appears the non-virgins cant help the freshness that posters like Ranti and Onila and the the lke have brought to what was suppossed to be a virgin bashing thread....evidently all its not going as expected with the new nairaland generation of virginity haters, who are bent on bursting the bubble of the virgin defenders. One thing about truth is that it is immutable no matter how we don't like it....saying that virgins could be lazy, haughty, have poor inter-personal skills and the hymen between their thighs don't count for much in the global scheme of their persnality...that is a fact, yet that does not mean that pre-marital sex belongs to a matter of choice....is slapping your mother or killing another human also a matter of choice? thats the more fundamental issue. For the fact that i am a succeesful entreprenuer does not make it okay doe me to be engaged in Illicit s.exual behaviour. Material and career xuccess have now become a benchmark for evaluating the progress of the human person.....i say this too to the virginity apologists who make assumme that: PRESENCE OF HYMEN = MATERIAL AND CARRER SUCCESS + MARITAL HAPPINESS. True Virginity is principally about a wholesome view about the sexuality faculties of my person, which is directly linked with the perception of my person, my depths, the true needs of my heart, which are truth, beauty, justice and happiness. Where this linkage is lacking you see a lot of inordinate stuff that the virgin bashers are pointing to, which is pretty factual, yet it could never be reasonable for them to throw the baby and the bath water away. Virginity must never be reduced to the preservation of a of a piece of flesh OR the absence of co.itus in a physical encounter, yet true virginity is perfected when the physical and psychological(sexual) had never been tampered which is a "feat" which is rarely 1000%. We must all strive to give in daily more to the high demands of our hearts, which transcends the seeking of intimacy in sad absence of pure human affection. Human sex that is not linked with the quality of love (which is what makes humans human) is like two mammals mating and thats not how we wer created! |

All these conspiracy theories about ghadaffi being a hero and blah blah is just too pointless, ghadaffi had no right to impose himself on his people indefinitely; let me give you thousands of dollars monthly but forbid you to trod the path of self determination and let me see how happy you'll be? the human spirit wants freedom more than anything else ghadaffi apologists must understand this If the NTC fail to create a trully free and properous libya it is another matter altogether; if feels so good choosing the leaders who you want to lead you, many of you dont know what it is |
