makes my skin crawl. She didnt take a bath in 2 yrs? |
MC Usman:same ol'. Rather than see the truth for what it is they go on a campaign of calumny. MC Usman:What is the relevance of this to the topic? And we dare criticise our leaders when we ourselves find it so difficult to endure opinions that run contrary to our own views. |
his_grace:sounds like you're the one forcing the relationship. Its clear in your case that the girl doesnt really see you as someone she wants to be "that" close to. Nahlijah's case is different . . . sounds like the guy trusts her enough. For me to give a woman the keys to my house . . . she should be expecting a ring next. |
Afam:Same old story, confound them with facts and they come bleating insults. Afam:this is ridiculous. Was it the US/Israel that refused the UN offer of a palestinian state in 1947? |
A few i've always known pre-nairaland. Met only one nairalander so far though . . . turned out to be the most fun i've had all yr. Hoping to meet another sometime this yr . . . wish me luck buddies. Perhaps i'll meet a few when i go home later in the yr . . . tkb417 and pataki u better be there. |
DRANOEL:what a pathetic cop-out. Even kids would have more rational answers. You cant stand the heat then leave the kitchen. |
JeSoul:I remember Him calling them a generation of vipers and whitened sepulchres . . . ![]() |
No. |
I will go with Nwando's point. Well articulated. |
Saying goodbye to my best friends in college was extremely hard . . . we pretended, we tried not to think about it, we poked fun at each other, we just wanted to enjoy the last few days we would ever spend all together as best friends, as brothers, as room mates . . . never again would we sit down together in our little rooms with just an old mattress in a corner, a rabbit stewing in a metal pot over a clay electric stove praying that NEPA would give us a few more minutes of electricity as we joked about the other's girlfriend. Never again would we gather together under a full moon practising our parts to the next music concert. Never again would we share anxious moments as we prepared for terrible exams. No more pals to run to when times got difficult and i needed a wise head to consult . . . it was now time to take up our individual responsibilites and shoulder the burden of paving our own paths through the rest of our lives. We tried to hide it but the more the days crawled closer the more the strain in our voices and the pain etched on our faces. We were stronger than friends, we were closer than brothers . . . our bonds stretched beyond each other, we may as well have had extra parents . . . such was the relationship that we had grown to share over the last 5yrs or our lives . . . One evening T got a new cassette sent to him from home . . . i was the last to walk in, coincidentally the track that happened to be playing then was Plus One's "my friend" . . . We are standing at the crossroads And now it's time For you to go your way And me to go mine I will pray the Lord Will keep you safe Until the day I see your face again [c h o r u s] My friend We have been through so much And you have been my Godsend With your sure and steady love My friend You know I will be there If you ever need 'Cause you've always Been a friend to me I may travel the world over But one thing I know for sure One day this road will lead me Back 'round to your door I will pray the Lord Will keep you safe Some bonds are just too strong To break in the end Nothing will change the way I feel about you Not the miles or the years Or the place this life takes me to . . . no one of us spoke a word . . . we really didnt need to, it was a fitting end to an adventure . . . one that we'd carry evergreen in our hearts to the end of our days. Men arent supposed to cry, but there were not a few tears in our hearts that night as we lay our heads to sleep knowing one more phase of life's journey had just ended. - A is married now to his college sweetheart. B lives and works in Canada . . . T works back home, we may have to end up getting a girl for him at this rate. - God bless you my friends! |
Hey Hero . . . just one more question: Why do i find it easier to understand white people when they speak English than AAs? |
One question: why do a majority of AAs detest going to school? Sorry one more question: Why are AAs so condescending to native Africans? Ooops just one more . . . i promise . . . When will AAs begin to realise that life does not start and end with being a rapster or gangsta? |
Mostly for work initially, now i use it primarily for entertainment. Intend to buy a new one devoted just to music, games, photos and my ipod. |
debosky:I read that piece of news too and i was wondering . . . did he expect to permanently put Eto'o on the bench? I personally think he went to Barcelona for a chance at Champions league glory . . . he'd be lucky if they win it this season, Barca are looking very beatable at the moment and i'd fancy Arsenal's chances should we meet them especially at home. |
victor4u:This was just too funny! What were you expecting to see? |
Germannig:Adamawa has a Federal Medical Center which is frankly a disgrace. More often than not u're better off seeing the doctor corp members. |
the apologists will soon be here to tell us how it is all the fault of geography. |
DRANOEL:so i went back to look at Teriba's input . . . Teriba:Mr. Teriba . . . the only people advocating a shady system of affirmative action is the north and not the south. It is to the north's advantage that we have a lopsided admissions system via JAMB. It is to the north's advantage that we have federal character commission, it is to the north's advantage that we have government appointments and "honors" based on state of origin . . . it is to the north's advantage that we have a quota system . . . so mr. teriba, where did the southerners advocate affirmative action? No all we ask is equity and that merit be the hallmark of every admission or appointment. What the dear mallam advocates in his piece is exactly what you accuse the south of . . . that government should DELIBERATELY at the subtle threat of violence force the north into areas of the economy it has made no contribution in building. Teriba:We already have affirmative action in place with the Federal character commission and quota system. Teriba:What arrant nonsense . . . is it geography that sent southerners to school and prevented the northerners from attending college? Is it the sea that developed the spirit of entrepreneurship in the south? Or you mean to actually allude to oil? Sorry there are tons of nations that have not a drop of oil and no access to the sea whose economy will put ours to shame. Teriba:we've been singing "one nigeria" for over 80yrs and yet we are no closer to this mirage of a one prosperous nigeria. Teriba:this is the problem with your argument, it is long on theories but woefully short on workable solutions. Those who benefit from the status quo will never allow a constitutional ammendment take away their unearned priviledges. Southern politicians have been crying for a constitutional reform since 1979 . . . has the north ever shown interest? During the last "reform" conference obasanjo declared . . . was it not the north that walked out on the south south for daring to ask to control just 50% of their natural resources? Teriba:that is not true. with a population of over 150m citizens, the last thing the western world wants to deal with is a Nigerian civil war with its attendant refugee crisis. During the Biafran war . . . how many western nations recognized Biafra? |
DRANOEL:Please how about you tell us where our knowledge of history is wrong instead of hiding behind the veil of personal insults. What is appalling is not my knowledge of history but your own refusal to engage issues rather than personalities which is pretty much the last refuge of the intellectually deficient. |
yeah. |
See tkb for inside Adamawa kopa o!! I sabi your face for the Girei corpers meetings . . . see man wey talk say im be king of FUTY! I remember you as being on the quiet side. Do you remember that Alemede guy? Omo see Tarfa o! That guy screwed me some thousands just to let me leave 2 months early . . . Bros, Yola was the bomb! Looking thru the album just brings memories rushing back like yesterday. I dey page 54, number 4 on the last row. |
Ouch! |
stillwater:We think alike. ![]() |
funbag:sorry, ur not liking her makes no difference. Are you an old member with new ID? |
Na you dash me wife . . . Funbag . . . i dont like it when people just rush in all going personal. Pick up ANY thing i said there and tell me which one is not true. You have that freedom . . . |
funbag, were did we lie? Is it not true that northern "doctors" are frequently denied jobs in top private hospitals in the south? Is it not true that companies are also picky when it comes to graduates from northern schools? you may also want to check the real meaning of "sycophants" . . . i doubt it applies here. ![]() |
Cassiel:apologies if that sounded nasty . . . wasnt meant to be. yup, i soundly agree with the portion in highlights but is "controlled violence" any better? You may as well fight as its not likely the guy would be in the mood to let you make a fool of him in public without exacting some revenge. |
debosky:You do have a point. Here is the problem though, most men and women tend to be on their best behaviour when dating . . . there are physically abusive men in marriage who cant even speak out in public. It is "isolated incidents" that give you a window into the kind of person you are. |
