BUT the annoying 2mb limit thingy is there too so dnt raise ur hopes. unless someone can tell me wat file 2 soil 2 remove the license thingy. eh? hoping against hope?* bluez works quite alrite but i hav this dongle i wasted money on. it comes wit its own bluesoliel 4 windows. it refuses 2 work under linux. d oda 1 plug n play was limited 2ft range. thats why i bought new one. now new dongle is useless.

then my final sec year, when some boys used their brains and masterminded an absolute coup. prior to the val period, relations btw male and females were seriously censured, so boiz were always voicing discontent. val fell on a friday, and the following sat was enviromental inspection. so boiz cornered head boy and girl and convinced them to sell the idea of intra sex hostel inspection. pronto the mumu gals came in their droves to see the inner working of the male hostels and of course wink at their toasters, when boiz were informed that the visit could be returned, many were sceptical as they did no want to get into trouble. but the learned few made trhe trip across school and promptly acting on prior info from the same boiz who bought the val gifts yesterday, went and vigorosly inspected the lockers and hiding places common to students, lo and behold all manner of contraband were coming out!! and boiz were promptly striking deals to prevent forfeiture, or just sitting down and being "entertained" by the gals

by the time the gist got back to the male hostels it was too late but man for the few who made the trip, man eat drink and die was the watchword, plus all manner of foods, cakes, bought by hungry boiz who soak garri religiously!!!!!!!!

if not, considering that there will be a boot sectors on both drives, what will be the koko?

am saying that i want to boot a different os from a different drive, is grub going to have entries like a partitioned drive? will it work that way?

i once knew some guys like that, man that was a relationship from hell, right in uni hostel they would go at themselves and man, beat, slap etc, bruises etc it was crazy.

@ poster, u know not to sound "non compliant" with the general view, i really think cafe owners should explore the linux option. u know, get some one to set them up for u it usually has no maintenance issues!

I SAY THIS BECAUSE WELL CAFE PCS ARE FOR SURFING ONLY RIGHT? ehn so if u can get someone to set it up for u, look, u have absolutely no worries, the yahoo boys will free you cos most of their funny progs are for windows, any file downloaded is just that a file, its when the person takes it to his own system that he will hear the musikoko! a linux install wont fragment or damage ur hard drive, and they perform better the longer they are on sef!

the obvious downside is that cafe timing wares are light on the linux side. if u can pay for it there are solutions. i personally know of two free ones, there was a guy who started a thread on that a few months back but i dunno wat became of him! he never came back! so i dont know if he actually used it.

the bottomline is it would reduce ur hassles on the user side wise! but then thats half the issue anyway, what with server, service provider etc issues.

ur main issue will be getting someone to set it up for u, if u do that, then ur good!

hmmn, that proxy thingy in 9.04, when u set a global proxy, when u delete it, synaptic and terminal keep trying to use that proxy. i even edit at.conf and bash.rc yet its there. its registered as a bug in launchpad sef. i take it you have never used a proxy in 9.04. if u did u would have had the problem

the solution is to edit apt.conf and bash.rc, remove any proxies set in them, restart and run sudo unset http_proxy

anyways its all good.

do u know anthing abt this hard drive master slave thingy for two drives? someone just dashed me a drive and i wanna add it to the pc, but im thinking of making the slave drive solely windows xp/puppy and the main drive just ubuntu

undoubtedly 9.10. 9.04 is archaic compared with it. havin used it 4 2 mths i def see d diff. i went back 2 9.04 on my home box and frankly its bin a fight. u cant bliv d no of stuff .i take 4 granted with karmic dt i have 2 do in jaunty. eg proxies. lest i 4get that cmd i was looking for to cure the proxy bug is unset http_proxy. u hav 2 edit bash urself though. im even havin codec issues. apparently iv a mish-mash and some file formats wont play. when i try 2 get their codecs, it removes others. 9.10 is better truly. just download themes and wallpaper though! the default is hideous! lol
