Abeg answer my question or sit down. Why should a woman not be hit if she provoked the man?

Some men are exceptionally violent and hit thier women at the least provocation. This is wrong and should not be encouraged. But saying nothing should make a man hit a woman is just being naive.

The op hasn't told us what she did that made him hit her. It is possible she married a chronic wife beater and hence really needs help. Someone has posted a link to that effect.

It is also possible she is a stubborn woman with a caustic tongue and frankly the man has had enough and feels a good spanking is in order to make her behave herself.

Either way we are all human beings with varying characteristics. If you know what triggers your husband to hit you then kindly refrain from it. If he is a mad man and hits you without reason get people to take him to Psychiatric hospital. Either way settle yourself.

Also like I said previously, the title is misleading. The previous punishment for having carnal knowledge of an underage girl was 5yrs imprisonment. Just 5years! This is actually an improvement, an attempt to make the punishment more severe. It should be applauded. The only problem is I don't know why it wasn't extended to include ages 12 to 16. The topic should read:

Senate approves stricter punishment for carnal knowledge of girls below 12.

...and not the eye catching balderdash they wrote up there.

Just because I don't blindly worship the American way of life doesn't mean I don't see the wrongs of Nigeria too. Haba!

The Senate did NOT PASS ANY LAW for the underage to have sex! It simply alters the severity of punishment for the crime of carnal knowledge of a minor below 12yrs to life imprisonment! Previous laws for those 12 to 17 still stands!

It is AMAZING the high level of illiteracy among the average Nigerian youth sha. This article does not make 11yrs the legal age to have sex. Just that any age below 12 is liable to be punishable by life imprisonment. Any age above 12 is still a crime, just not punishable by life imprisonment.

The truth is most youth support homosexuality simply because "america" supports it. Same with atheism, same with feminism, etc. "America" is more often than not used as a standard. Some bimbo was saying the other day that she is the first Nigerian feminist! The day Americans change their stance in these issues you'll see the massive change of opinion in our youth as well.

So Bleep it and yeah I'll keep ranting on the ills of that misguided and misguiding country whenever I spot them for as long as I am able. I'm not going to shut my mouth and ignore them cos their government Is apparently better than mine.
