Politics › Re: Legacies Of Awolowo To Nigeria by 7lives: 5:50pm On Sep 04, 2018 |
AmuDimpka: Awolowo nailed the coffin on the progress of Nigeria when he foolishly and shamelessly accepted position of Federal Commissioner of Finance from Gowon who was his sons age mates.
All Awolowo achievements were negative and subjective in that era . They were -:
STARVATION of 14 million Eastern Nigerians and the death from Kwashiorkor of 3million especially women and children.
REPARATION against Eastern Nigerians by stealing their millions in exchange for 20pounds.
INDIGENIZATION POLICY that sold blue chip companies only to his Yoruba kinsmen. They eventually crashed the companies and destroyed Nigeria industrial base.
RESOURCE CONTROL removal which was at 50% by the 1963 Constitution but after tinkering by Awolowo became 0%.
TREASONABLE FELONY by Awo was the first coup in Nigeria especially by a civilian and it predated the January 15, 1966 coup which was initiated to make Awolowo Prime Minister of Nigeria according to his kinsman and major coupist Major Adewale Ademoyega who wrote the book WHY WE STRUCK.
OIL DECREE OF 1969 by Awolowo took away all rights to exploration of Crude and it's processing from states and made it the exclusive preserve of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
TRIBAL POLITICS brought Awo to limelight. Awo broke the ranks of the NCNC to create a niche for himself by raising ethnic fears YORUBA RONU.
CROSS - CARPETING without principles was invented by Awo in 1952 when he needed to steal victory from the NCNC in order for the AG to form government in Western Nigeria.
POLITICAL INTOLERANCE & VIOLENT POLITICS was the trademark of Awo who engaged his erstwhile deputy SL Akintola in burning and looting of the Western region in order to asset authority.
Victor Wilberforce is a critical thinker and a social engineer Who let this dog out?, anyway eni ti ko ni iru eni ko le mo iyi eni. Tell me more about your Grandpas achievements, that made MALO turned you guys into BARBECUES. |

Anyway all the mama Elepo, fufu, okro, ugwu are collecting their own in Lagos, this one in Lagos too is about the election in Osun. emmie14: This lengthy empty words must come from that west side who stock on human parts. Bishop what is repentance? PDP might not be the best but statistically they are better than APC current government. What is repentance without RESTITUTION?. This is my main issue with people saying PDP should come back, come back to come and do what exactly?. Even IFA spoke about RESTITUTION, " OGBE FI OWUN FUN OLOHUN KI ARA O MO ". Meaning " THIEF RETURN WHAT YOU STOLE SO THAT YOU CAN BE CLEAN. It is boldly written in IFA divinities and I can't remember hearing it anywhere that Islam condones stealing. $780 billion dollars in 16 years and NOTHING to show for it?, WE KNOW THEY STOLE THE MONEY AND THIS IS OUR GRUDGE WiTH PDP. Let them return 30% of that money and see if people will not have a CHANGE of attitude towards PDP. The problem is NOT that they stole, heck who doesn't steal? but the MAGNITUDE of the stealing is why people see them as a DESTROYER who is all out to destroy them. You better go and carry your Bible and read JOB 20: 4-25, so that you will have a better understanding of the problems that PDP is facing right now and what is still going to happen to them after 2019 election. |

frankfrancis871: Mr. Op you must understand that Igbos have made their choice which is Biafra or Biafra. They don't need an Igbo president rather a nation that will be for them in hard times, a nation where they can be free at last and that nation is not Nigeria but Biafra! We all know Biafra is heterogenous but Igbos are ready to out even without their brothers which shows that they have no confidence in Nigeria. Have you heard about xenophobics attack on Igbos in Ghana and South Africa yet their so called leaders have done nothing about and you don't expect Igbos to support a country that is against them? Conclusively Africans must know that their boundaries are european made and that a call for referendum is not a call for war, Biafrans have a right to self determination. They should not ask them to leave their lands, even after Biafra is restored they can still continue their businesses in foreign lands. Igbos have gone through hell only Biafra will compensate them, thanks.. I have no issue with Igbo having Biafra, but I definitely have SERIOUS ISSUES with them STICKING around in my country to do business. The REASON they fought and got Biafra was because they HATE being in the same country with me, so what the heck will they be sticking around for?. And please don't tell me they want to do business 'cause I believe that they can do their business elsewhere. |

The point is that your mindset about leadership in Nigeria has not changed. The same mindset that brought us where we are must be jettisoned with our whole might. I see all the things you reeled our to paint OBJ in rosy pictures. You also forget that some of the worst impunity occurred under him. The kidnapping of a sitting governor, loads of cash presentation in the floor of parliament courtesy of ... jomonic: It is not coming on a platter of gold. It is the right thing to do. An Igbo must become the president Nigeria. Both Yoruba and Hausa have got their chance and made a mess of it by bringing Nigeria to her knees. There is no big deal about using an ewedu party. We have had ewedu for so long and it is now tastless. The way forward for Nigeria is a combination of nsala / egusi and olugbu (bitter leave.). The important thing is to take control of leadership and provide direction which the country is in dire need of. None of you incorrigible lots can do that no matter your exposure and education. Let's focus on the bigger picture my friend. See this one o, no wonder, it either they are making suya with Ibo meat in the North, frying your hides in SA, shackling your folks up in Asia, and so on. You guys just don't get it that, there is no short cut. No one will work hard to build a structure and hand it over to you, don't get me wrong you can buy provided you can afford to pay and the owner is willing to sell. But in this case I'm not sure the owners of the structure will be willing to sell, why not build your own?, there are over thirty political parties in the country. Just trying to make some common sense. |

RockHard: Op, you need to grow up and quit being petty, please. Government is a continuum. If every new government decides to abandon projects initiated by their predecessors there will be uncompleted projects everywhere. Lagos is working today because there is continuity of the visionary developmental masterplan by successive administrations. If Buhari abandons all of GEJ's projects for selfish reasons, who will suffer if not Nigerians who will be deprived of much needed infrastructure? Everything shouldn't always be reduced to politics all the time. MOST of them are abandoned projects, why do you think their brains are malfunctioning?. |
