The Yoruba people did not make any mistake in voting out the government of Jonathan and installing the Buhari administration. Just because Asiwaju Tinumbu can no longer have his way with APC like he used to do with the defunct ACN does not translate to mean that Yoruba people have been cheated out of the power equation. Tinumbu is not synonymous with Yoruba people and vice- versa.

Come to think of it. We have more Yoruba sons and daughters occupying prime positions in this administration even to the envy and anger of some other ethnic groups, compare to Jonathan administration who relegated to the background our people who fought vehemently against hegemonic northern forces in order to help him claim his right to the presidency after the death of the then president, Umaru Yar' Adua.

I as a person cannot see how Yoruba people will still go ahead with all our level of education and political awareness, go ahead to return Good luck Jonathan to office again after all he did to our people. This is not to say that I am in support of how Asiwaju Tinumbu is being treated within the party. The truth is that what the party chairman did by corruptly aiding one of the governorship aspirants to win the party nomination for Ondo State gubernatorial election is appalling, reprehensible and condemnable. Oyegun Has lost the trust his party members reposed in him and I also concur with Tinumbu that he should resign.

As to President Buhari and Asiwaju Tinumbu relationship, I believe the same could have happened if the person Asiwaju sponsored to power is a Yorubaman. Awolowo and Akintola is a reference case in point.I don't believe that whatever disagreement existed between the president and Asiwaju has any ethnic undercurrent in it. It is simply the president wanting to be free from Tinumbu's unnecessary influence in his government. Even Fashola tried as governor of Lagos state to shake- off the control of Tinumbu at some point, albeit without success.

However, I would like to advise Yoruba people to exercise caution in the bid of some of us to equate Buhari/Tinumbu disagreement to mean the same as North vs Southwest political war because this is far from being so. This is not the time to destroy what we have achieved together. We should not allow emotion and sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning. There is a shift in the direction the nation is going right now.Very soon the nation will no longer be overly dependent on oil revenue as its means of sustenance.

Finally, I would love to advise that the leadership of APC should call Asiwaju Tinumbu to resolve the differences between them What we need at this critical period in our national history is a stable and focused government with the full support of all party leaders members as well as the support of all citizens of this country.
