We cannot see what your mechanic saw.
Any car that age would probably have one or two leaking seals. It's normal.

Use that to bargain the price a bit lower considering the fact that you will fix an oil leak.

You can get the opinion of e second mechanic.

The 2az engine is the issue with Toyota from 2002 to 2009. From oil burn to strip bolt head etc

Stripped bolt head affected a few engines made between 2003 and 2004.

Oil burn is usually at about 1 liter per 1k miles and does not affect all 2azfe.

I owned and drove one for a while. I bought it Nigerian used and it served me Wella.

The 2azfe is reliable engine, as simple as it gets and cheap to maintain.

Shine your eyes when buying Nigerian used.

Years ago, people used to avoid the supercharged engine because of the fuel requirements but now, almost all the engines are supercharged. Velar, Evoque, Discovery Sport, SVR etc all comes with the supercharged engine as standard. We[b] know that the fuel has destroyed your Acura MDX until you found a solution which was uncommon, fuel has removed Audi, VW, Nissan, BMW,Benz, Volvo and Lexus from our roads, only the Range Rover is still gliding on our roads and I have invited all the gurus to come and find a solution.[/b]

My mdx is still running on its original engine. No overhaul like your range Rover engines. One coil, one starter and one alternator after four years. No error codes whatsoever.
As fit as a horse on Nigerian fuel. Same can't be said for your range rovers.

They are not as poorly made as your range Rover.

Scientifically proven. A Corolla can not use the same oil with a Range Rover. There's oil for Toyota from Castrol and it's called motor oil while the one for Range Rover is called advanced full synthetic oil with guarantee of 20000 miles. Mobil now created a special oil for Toyota Honda and Nissan so that dem nor go do pass themselves. If a Corolla 2005 is using 5w30 and an Evoque 2018 is using 5w30 engine oil, is it possible to use the same extended performance oil on the Corolla? Think am well

We are all coming home to resolve this problem. Rangerover ownerships are not going through any hell. If anyone has not driven a Rangerover, he is going to hell with complaints. You own an equivalent of a rolls Royce but with the ability to go anywhere. That said, we all know that you are advised not to mix different colors of coolant like it was pointed out by our Rangerover owner in the UK. Toyota coolant is sold for almost 5k à litre and it can never be recommended for any modern Rangerover. I once queried those guys that recommends Mobil 1 5w30 for Corolla and Kia Rio while Rangerover Evoque and Discovery sport recommends the same oil for these cars up till 2019. Practice, they say makes perfect. I used to change oils in over 1000 cars monthly and we always analyze the oil most times and our customers fidelity was huge. The testimony of the owner of the car is being put to the hotspot. I have fixed the car and it is no longer in my shop. We are looking for a solution to the failure of the V6 engine on a Rangerover. Third, the owner confirmed that he used the green coolant on the red already in the car. Like you confirmed with your post, it will destroy the head gasket. So imagine the cheap coolant being sold locally on a V6 supercharged of a Rangerover, you will get a volcanic eruption in the engine and that was what happened

First, forget this range Rover bullshit. If not, you would never grasp what others are trying to tell you here.

Summary:
1. Coolants can be mixed short term. Effect will not be felt in five minutes
2. Engine had an underlying problem hence coolant loss
3. Owners often embellish stories.
4. Engine may have overheated (coolant was low in the first place) and owner may not have been aware.


Those engines are rubbish by the way.
Owners are going thru hell.

Your thermostat is not your problem.

Look for source of the leak.
It could be radiator, hose, connection between hose and engine, hose and radiator, thermostat housing etc.

What is holding the senate from passing the bill to decentralize electricity into law by pressuring the President to sign?
The real decentralization should happen in states!
Remove the electricity/power supply laws in the constitution from the exclusive list and place it on the concurrent list!
In other words,States should be empowered to build gencos(generating company),trancos(transmitting company) and discos(distribution company) or they can simply give licences to private power companies to provide electricity to the citizens of that state!
This will ensure that buoyant states like Lagos or rivers state will provide their own power without relying on the national grid that is always subject to frequent collapse!
Any state that cannot provide their own power can either continue with the national grid or tap from states with the funds or capacity to generate,transmit and distribute electricity!
Attaining a stable and consistent electricity system is integral to our economy and I do not see the entire country having stable power supply using the national grid!
There must be division of labour and the states government must assume that responsibility to provide or give licences to companies to provide power instead of waiting for the FG to do such!

How do you think certain regions will be able to generate power if it's taken away from the exclusive list?

Pls oo so I have a lexus es 300 2003 model I got toks in 2020. Recently I noticed oil shortage especially after long distance. I took it to workshop, they went under and said crank shift oil seal is the culprit. They brought down the engine, changed the seals and now I am stuck with overheating. The temperature guage is exceeding half mark after some distance. The fan comes on at driving temperature, the thermostat is intact.

Now this mech said I should remove the thermostat and relay the fan, I said no. They should instead retrace what they did to find the culprit.

Instead of water to be entering engine, it's backing up into reservoir which is filled up then water is boiling and it's now flowing out of that reservoir because there's an opening on the cap one side while the other side runs to radiator. This will continue till radiator is out of water and temperature guage will be going above half. I don tire.

Is there anyway out of this other than relaying the fan and discarding the thermo. The radiator hose wants to explode. I feel the thermo is bad.

What to check (easy things):
1. If cooling system was bled properly
2. Radiator cap is still okay (replace, it's cheap)
3. Radiator hose straight and not kinked
4. Thermostat still opens at designated temp. You can test this with a boiling water
5. Fans spin in the right direction? Pulling air into the engine.

What to check (hard things):
1. Water pump
2. Gasket
3. Blocked catalyst.

Greetings to the house and everybody. You're all doing a great job here.

I have some issues with my car. It's a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe. I bought it Nigerian used last November.

Prior to buying the car, I have no knowledge of cars...heck, I didnt even know how to drive.

Lately, I've come to notice some problems with the car:
1. Whenever I change gear to reverse, it comes with an abrupt jerk and unpleasantly loud sound. I know cars jerk alittle when shifted to reverse, but this one is too much.

My mechanic had initially said it was engine seats, to which I have replaced them, all to no avail.

2. When driving, I periodically hear this sound underneath like the gear is trying/struggling to change. Something a bit similar to the reverse sound, but not too loud and doesnt jerk.

To this one, somebody said something about changing a gear sensor, but I'm not so keen yet; as I dont want anything that will involve me tempering with the gearbox.

3. Sometimes when cruising/accelerating, it comes to a point when the stops responding to throttle, rather it justs revvs high without corresponding acceleration. Until you allow it for a while, then gradually and slowly picks up speed.

All helpful inputs will be highly appreciated.
