They will never understand. Some low mileage cars haves idled for 50,000 hrs in stop and go traffic with oci of once a year. That's abuse. Yet they think 150k highway miles is high mileage. Others think that vin check will show a bad engine. I laugh.
buygala: Your question is irrelevant to the issue at hand...but for the sake of other people who may be misled by your comments, let me put you straight...
If my car gets shot at and i know it happened when i was doing something criminal like armed robbery or fleeing from the law, i won't be silly enough to go around asking for police extract...i will simply burn the entire car or have the hole quietly fixed and car repainted..
If on the other hand, i got shot at by armed robbers while travelling, whether i will report that to the Police or not depends on whether there are plenty witnesses to that fact...better if other cars were also shot at at the same spot or time i was shot at, or a law enforecement officer or officers witnessed the shooting..if the above scenarios happen, i will report to the Police and get whatever document they give to legitimize the bullet hole..
But if i was shot at by armed robbers alone and there are no witnesses or credible witnesses who are willing to corroborate my story at the Police abi na Army Station, i will jejely avoid any Nigerian Police Station and quietly fix my car...
Now back to the relevant question in this topic... "why buy a car a with a bullet hole"?
I believe i have made my input on that...Cheers
You really find it difficult to be polite. Again, I'd ignore. OP declined the purchase. Thanks for the disguised slight. Peace.
It seems you want op to be paraded on TV as leader of an armed robbery gang..
Once police hears "bullet hole", the last thing on their minds will be issuing an extract...they will first of all arrest everyone connected to that car, 'investigate', put plenty allegation on their heads, collect hefty bail money from them if their investigation reveals no foul play, and then impound the car or have it bailed at a very high cost...
All in all, best advice is for OP to walk away..
So let me ask you this. If you come back to meet a bullet hole in your car, you'd abandon your car? You wouldn't drive the car again because you are afraid of what the police might do to you? I have done so many police extracts and have never been to the police station to do it myself. Not that I can't , but there are people who do it. I swear an affidavit to back it up self. I agree our policemen can be a bit 'silly' but getting an affidavit from them is as easy as ABC. The affidavit and extract will simply state that a hole was noticed on the car of which the origin is unknown and may or not have been caused by a projectile.
He can also leave the purchase and walk away but eventually someone will buy that car. I've seen cars with gullet holes being driven up and down. Probably victims of circumstances and the owners simply don't even care to know the car has a bullet hole.
chukel: you mean after 5mins, your rpm is 1500-1700. There is problem o.
Big problem. Car is forever struggling to warm up, burning unnecessary fuel, spraying too much fuel into the cylinders, washing off lubrication, fouling the catalyst, exposing the catalyst to very high operating temperatures. The list is endless. Las las, engine or gear go pack. Ladipo go supply replacement and the cycle continues. There is problem oo.
shortgun: Remove the following vehicles from your list. Es350... pure water Honda crosstour..Engine problems Acura MDX... vibrations and transmission problems.
You are now left with the highlander and ML
Vibrations and transmission problems? On 08 mdx? Ha. Nawao.
christopher123: my brother forget that bullet proof, most Honda transmission which MDX is built on its platform don't have strong gears most Honda and Acura guys always change their gears ....that is true , if you drive one budget 150k - 200k for gear change when it comes ! that is the truth
Volvo is a car or brand noted for ruggedity... people follow popular demand not as if that MDX is thee best
if I was to select, I would go for Volvo first and then Ford, Acura MDX is the. last because of her gear and leg wahala and the engineer isn't robust like Volvo
Is the mdx based on the transmission or is the transmission type based on the mdx? I would have loved to take your advise but statistics from users and reviews say otherwise.
Again, the bullet proof reference was to the second and third gen mdx transmission.
I never said the transmission on the first gen mdx which the op bought is bullet proof. Read again to understand this.
Don't worry about what I should do about my transmission. It's not failing any time soon. I can assure you.
seanfer: Sienna comes in 6 cylinders. 1997-2003 3.0 liter engine. 2004-2006 comes in 3.3 liters engine and from 2007 comes in 3.5 liter engine. All are 6 cylinders.
Thanks. Just realised it never came with a 4 cylinder engine. But I swear I've seen one somewhere in pH. . Kazeem handwork I suppose.
andrewbaba44: I heard acura MDX always have gear box issues but the way most of you guys re recommending it shows its a good car
I know about 4 people who have replaced their gearbox in their acura MDX
Please educate me bro
Slightly true for the first generation mdx which op bought. However, if op follows the maintenance schedule and uses the right fluid, that transmission will last a long time.
For second and third gen mdx, their transmissions are bullet proof as long as you change the oil when due. In the mdx group (mdxers.org), I haven't come across a post for a failed transmission but have come across posts with failed radiators which led to transmission failures. As a stand alone unit, those transmissions hardly fail.
Remove sonata from the list. For an office commuter car, the interior won't hold up. Consider the following: 1. The almighty 2003-7 Corolla. Ticks all your boxes 2. Honda civic 03-07. Same with Corolla. This uses a timing belt and I think is an interference engine so you have to up and doing on maintenance. You don't want it towed back with a blown engine. 3. Camry 02-06. Commonly known as big for nothing(good car by the way). Ticks all your boxes as well. Suspension is known to be quite soft and fails often but cheap to replace. 4. 2007 -2012 Honda city. Very fuel efficient. Body doesn't quite hold up to hits and bangs from other road users. Otherwise a good car. 5. 07-10 Honda fit. Same as above but with a former body. These I believe come with regular automatic transmission while the city comes with a cvt. 5. 07-08 Camry. This will be very very difficult at the moment to get within this price range unless you are willing to consider Nigerian used (Nigerian used is not a good idea unless one of the known and trusted guys her can precertify it for you). 6. 1999 -2005 toyota sienna. Good as ever. Get the 4 cylinder version.
auhanson: You just go around giving people trash about this your Toyota thing. You may be deceiving those you can but not all..
Watch for yourself a very simple comparison between Toyota Camry and Accord, and still deceive those you can the more. What does it pay you to be doing these, when you know by far that Honda is a better vehicle to Toyota all round. I'm not gona waste my time with you on this because you can only deceive the unsuspected patrol heads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb7NmN_rwJM
Guys pls feed your senses , dont listen to Toyota fanboy
So what about this video proves him wrong? Are Camrys reliable? Yes. Are accords reliable? Yes. Which is the better car? It's objective. From the first two videos, I'd chose the Camry over the Accord. The first video had the girl talking about Chrome's. Lol. Are we in the 70s and 80s all over again? Camry had wireless charging, power seats. Accord base didn't have that. Admittedly it has the lane departure assist cameras which can come in handy. Yeah, Camry base came with steel wheels. That shouldn't be a death sentence.
In the second video where the higher trims were compared, the Camry still shine and was chosen as the better car.
Honda makes wonderful cars and are freaking reliable. Same goes for Toyota. However, this is Nigeria where the 03-07 Honda gained quite a bad rep for suspension issues and rightly so.
Toyota has been getting it right for ages and quite rightly deserve the accolades they get.
rationalmind: See this clown, this is exactly why I tell people never to buy Nigerian used cars. That a part fits does not mean they are the same. Common sense should tell you that if the part numbers are different then the parts are not the same.
I seriously pity that poor vehicle in your hand, shey you don dey slap in honda civic shock , very soon, you'll be putting a corollas engine and transmission.
And if you were smart, you'll realise you're making my point for me. Didn't you say you bought the honda civic shock because it was brand new from Belgium, how come you didn't get an Acura that is brand new from belgium .
To be fair to the other guy, Honda and Acura share certain parts. Some suspension parts are the same. Some sensors are the same. I recall a part that had a suffix a for an Acura but a suffix c for the Honda. Same parts. Identical. No difference whatsoever. The only difference was the suffix. Pilot and mdx share some parts. The Acura saloon that looks like a civic shares certain parts with the civic. The problem is if you go to the market without a sample of the part you are looking for, you may not get it. If you go with a sample, ladipo guys will sort you out. If you dig deep, you will find out it came from a Honda. Granted, body parts for Acura are expensive. However, all other parts which it shares with it's Honda look alike can be got for the same price as the Honda. If you insist on getting one with the Acura logo, you will be made to pay a premium that is not necessary. At least I've changed my brake disc and it came from a Honda packaged carton. Part number matched that of my Acura and it fit.
What does he mean when he said "use of air conditioner" amongst others? Does he mean mass transit buses without air conditioners shouldn't ply the roads?
adanny01: Spray gun, am not buying again. Why I didn't buy on AliExpress last time was the shipping cosr. I was getting the spray gun at 10 to 20k and shipping 50k and above.
I have been searching for the nozzle on AliExpress. I just saw what looks exactly like my nozzle but its a 1.8mm.
Adanny01, I believe shipments are arriving without as much hassle now. Things have opened up. You can get the right nozzle or spray gun combination now.
