timenamoney:At the last part, yes CTS must register the value determined by the car manufacturer as minimum threshold to go into closed loop. The ecu then monitors other variables such as throttle position, rpm, air flow meter or map sensor, engine load, knock count etc depending on manufacturers configuration. When all parameters are within specification, the fuel system then goes into closed loop operation. The air fuel ratio sensor feedback is now used by the ecu to control the injectors or determine amount of fuel injected into the cylinders. The 02 sensors measure the exhaust gas leaving the catalytic converter. As their name implies, they measure the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gases exiting the catalytic converter. They may or may not be used for closed loop operation. This is dependent on manufacturer programming of the ecu. If I have erred, una fit correct am. |
1. 100 degrees celsius is not what all manufacturers use. Some use higher, some use lower. 2. The thermostat reading is not the only variable used to achieve closed loop. It is a very key variable though. 3. Let me sit back and read comments. 4. The write-up and wording can be better. I had to read multiple times to make sense of some sections. |

Yet again you miss it. Misinformation is what is being challenged here. Not your person. Time and time again, we have tried to explain to you that high mileage is not the author and finisher of all car buying guide. There are cars with 150k miles that are better than cars with 100k miles. There is no hard and fast rule about this thing. There are 2018 model cars with 100k miles already. Doubt me? Go to copart, Manheim, iaai, adesa, mobile.de, etc. Your eyes will pop at the mileages of some 2015 model cars. It's highway miles. They are better off than some low miles driven in los angeles, New York and some other cities in usa with heavy traffic. These cars have spent their entire lives on the freeway turning over at 2000rpm with sufficient lubrication and not idling away at traffic lights with minimum lubrication or lugging in low gears. I come in peace. |
adimj2000:Good luck. Be wary of customs though. Land borders are closed. I wonder how you will be able to escape scrutiny from them if they ever decide to run your c number through their system. Good luck |
promotervickky:You started on the premise that despite the availability of dollar at N383, dealers were still fleecing buyers. It was a damning indictment on dealers and an insult to many honest men looking for their daily bread just like you. You were called out and educated. Don't change the goal post. It will be better if you take down this thread and start another with a simple question; "why are tokunbo cars expensive?". It is an honest question and probably people will drop their comments. As it is, this thread is meeeehhhh. Do not see me as your enemy, I come in peace. Cheers. |

Posesivo:Are they Nigerian used or tokunbo? |
Just for you |
dannybrasky:You play too much. ![]() |
diportivo:That is how to pass a point. And not to call a grown mans effort "useless". English language sha. Choice of words matter. |
phadriz:It has good fuel economy. I do not know if it's a good car to use in Nigeria. I see very few of them. However, I suspect the parts will be available in trinity and ladipo. Chukel, Benz also makes economy cars which the A and B class fall into. They are targeted at people who want the Benz logo but do not want to create holes in their wallet at the filling station. |
Read the post very well, I didn't say 3 million naira will buy 2015 highlander, I said the 2015 ford is 3 million naira cheaper than 2015 highlander
Okay. My bad. 3 million is a huge price difference. If it's a second car, I'd go for the ford. If it's an only car, I'd go for the highlander. Still your choice to make. |
sultaan:On the price, okay. On the cooling fan, I just used a random part that is often replaced easily. Yeah, some cars share such parts with others. |
Tgim |
For a start, 3 million naira cannot and will not buy that that 2015 Highlander. That's just enough to clear the car with some change. If you drive a car that is not so common, you will have to source for solutions to problems that are not so common. Highlander would be your best bet if you are outside big cities like lagos, abj, kaduna, onitsha etc. Imagine waiting for 3 days for something like a cooling fan or brake pads. In terms of looks, I'd say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Someone designed pontiac aztec and thought it was beautiful .I'm not in support of herd mentality but there is a reason people go with the herd and they are often right. If it's going to be her only car, I'd suggest the Highlander. Personally, I'd go with the Highlander. They are everywhere, parts abound, mechanics abound. You see some of those fancy mechanic workshops that have sprung up in some big cities, forget them oo. By the time some of them are done with you, you will wish you went to kabiru. Last last, they will call one guru from Abuja or lagos to work on the car and still charge you for calling in the "expert". The choice is yours though. |
Kinzeyfranks:That is thirty thousand four hundred and seventy pounds. I don't know if they are legit but that's some dough for a car with very little market. |

Oya, go and call your clients. The whole car talk is waiting. Wow. You really had to go and pull the one story?. ![]() I'm enjoying this. |
Following. This is what car talk should be about and not looking for accidented vehicles and c numbers. |
Not one story shared. Does that tell you something? If cosplay or carguideng starts a topic like this here (of course they won't as this is not a car problem but a purchase problem; on that note, I suggest you concentrate on autos section), a whole lot of people would have come here to share their experience. Someone far more experienced in this field came to help you. Instead of you to learn a thing or two from him, you were busy arguing with him. You still have a lot to learn I tell you. A whole lot. He who has ears, let him hear. Continue. You may end up garnering so much negative vibes around here. |
diportivo:Throw it to me. I can catch it. ![]() |
promotervickky:Like the ops car abi? Low mileage indeed. You still have a lot to learn. A whole lot. |
Still here |
