GERALD710: Ha it ever snowed in Northern Nigeria? In Kenya, it occasionally happens and do note, we are on the Equator. The average yearly temperature of Nairobi is 19 degrees celcius, for places Like Timboroa, Upper Lugari, Kinogngop, and the likes, it is around 10 degrees, all year round No need to make this a debate. It doesn't snow in Nigeria. Large parts of states like Plateau, cross river and Taraba have temperate or near temperate climate. Most of Nigeria is tropical with a little variation in temperature. In Kenya, the central highlands have a temperate climate with snowfall occurring in the highest elevations and peaks. Kenyan highlands remind me of many parts of Taraba as its the only state in Nigeria that produces tea. |

Ersan: No one thinks of boko haram when he sees nigerians. Most people dont even know there are muslims in Nigeria. BTW, you just listed the bad stereotypes, even in terms of good stereotypes and when people think of Nigerian culture and customs they think nollywood, davido, wizkid fufu, eba, pidgin
None of that applies to us. When it comes to the nigerian image, we are obsolete. terrorism has recently been associated with Nigerians especially since Chibok kidnappings. Yes a lot of the popular culture image is from the south. Also, there are more southerners than northerners in the West. |

Johannesburg Remains Africa’s Most Visited City in 2016 Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index Johannesburg is set to be the most popular destination city in Africa for the fourth year, according to the 2016 Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index . The city is expected to welcome 3.6 million international overnight visitors in 2016, a 6.2 percent increase on last year’s 3.39 million visitors. by the way my point was that, your comment was as if the action taken by South Africans was not happening in Nigeria. that's was the reason for the link. No need for your stats as I never disputed your claims to begin with. Did I said Joburg was the least or most visited place in SA? no, I simply said many tourists are a avoiding it in addition to Pretoria because of the safety concerns which is what I've seen a lot of people do. See why Capetown is rated high on the list. Anyways Joburg is a major entry point for many tourists to SA since it has the busiest and largest airport in Africa. |

Besides, Oyo empire is different from Ibadan Empire(though they didn't succeed in the unification of the whole tribe). When Ibadan was growing, the seat of power was still always Oyo. Agreed No country dey get history like naija. |

Well I guess we all have people that can rub us the wrong way everywhere same as the Nigerians who are quick to comment and attack a country of 55 million whenever a Nigerian dies here even if he is killed by a fellow Nigerian or another foreigner. Yes you are right about that . Couldn't said it better. Peace to you sister |

forgiveness: No, we have a alot of them.
Ibadan happened to be the Capital of Ibadan Empire.
And the Yorubas are one of the few African tribes that lived in urban areas. Leave the history to me . Nigeria swells in deep history. *Yes we have a lot of them- Benin, Kano, Sukurr, Sokoto, Ife etc. Benin had the largest earthworks in the world which took 150 million hours of manpower to build. It also had one of the earliest mathematically grid-planned cities in the world as well as one of the first cities to adopt a system of street lightning. Kano was a medieval walled city that produced scholars and flourished from trade especially through the trans-saharan trade routes. Leather and other fine goods produced in Kano and hausaland were valued for their quality in European courts. Ife produced some of the finest and realist works of art in the world during the middle ages. Over a thousand years ago, Ife had paved courtyards and streets. *Oyo empire not Ibadan empire. Ibadan was just a provincial city, the captial was Oyo. *True as well as Edo and Hausas. |

Lionessza: Where did I say all Nigerians are bad people?. I was just correcting the guy who thought something done by one man is done by many, showing him that we could also say the same about you. Many are arrested but some meet the angry part of our society and get what these got lol. I'm glad you are preaching peace everywhere hope you are doing it more in Nigeria since jungle justice seems to be popular amongst your own . Of course. I despise jungle justice greatly wherever it is. That of Nigeria is due to poverty and lack of education which correlates to that of SA. I just hate the xenophobia attached to it. One South African was boasting about how they deserve it. That rubs me the wrong way for a number of reasons. Anyways, I don't care wherever violence is, it's never the solution in any instances. |

Lionessza: I wonder why there are more Nigerians dying of Aids than South Africans ? . One man made the news years ago about molesting a child to cure Aids and was arrested now that's an epidemic? loll. How barbaric is marrying 14 year old girls and not prosecuted? Where else can that happen ? .Who is dying of polio in this day and age ? Meningitis is destroying citizens of which country? Cholera? . Sir please let's not start with sick people here it's not fair. Take note of the bolded. If only you can use this exact logic to judge Nigerians. Not all Nigerians are bad people. If there are suspected drug traffickers, you can report them to the authorities, you don't have to take matters to your own hands and use violence against them or loot their businesses in the name of "justice." Mob justice is never the solution. I preach the message of peace everywhere! |

deomelo: The fact regardless the Christian/Muslim nonsense you are talking about, we still a Christian governor which clearly shows that at the end of the day, religion doesn't define us and you can become a governor or attain any public office regardless of your religion which can never happen in your village religious hatred, bigotry and discrimination what you eat, breath and live by.
I don't see you as a people electing a Muslim or folks from other tribes outside your land into any political office simply because you are not socially matured and developed to do that.
You people even gave Rochas, a Christian-Muslim, Hausa and derogatory name simply because he is in the same political party with Muslims and people outside your land.
We are politically and socially matured than you people and lack of social and communal development is really what's holding you back, you are just not socially developed enouh to function and interact successfully in any society. Don't mind them, they are just trying to push a non-existing religious divide. I don't think religion even cross the mind of Yoruba. Look at Fashola, he's a very progressive Muslim from a mixed religious background that you wouldn't even know he's Muslim unless he told you upfront. Awolowo, the first premier of the Western region was Christian. The Ooni, the cultural leader of Yoruba people is a christian. The VP with the second highest political position is also a christian. Their bigoted perspective can't cope with how Muslims and Christians could be allies, when in reality Yoruba identity stems from blood and brotherhood. They can never understand. |

Ersan: Fam, one of the many advantages of Nigeria breaking is the chance for us to have a different identity. They can keep their Nigeria or Biafra or whatever they choose. We will carve out a new identity for ourselves because trust me, on the international stage...we currently don't have one. The nigerian stereotype has been corrupted with that of southern Nigeria. Every part of Nigeria is responsible for the stereotypes that Nigeria's known for. The Southern 1/2 has its share like -drug trafficking -militancy -pollution -kidnapping The Nothern 1/2 also has its share like -Religious intolerance -Boko Haram/Terrorism -Polio -Extreme poverty -Illiteracy Nonetheless, these are just stereotypes and aren't representative of most Nigerians. |
