abikason: Eco2580:Not quite.... Okadas are banned from parts of Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi and Niger states. ![]() Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/05/army-bans-motorcycles-in-zamfara-kano-katsina-4-other-states/ > |
mindtricks:But they are regulated, NOT banned... Lagos has 57 LCDAs and they are only precluded from 15. That's akin to saying that one-way roads are a 'ban' from either side... Or that preventing drones from flying over airports is a "ban" on drones! > |

NextPresido:Mira's Tomato Jos has been in the tomato paste business in Nigeria for about 13 years, well before Dangote Group, but frankly it is relatively small tomatoes (pun intended) compared to Dangote's processing plant. Erisco Tomatoes is the other relatively significant player in the sector. > |

Unless, there is a provision in the concession agreements... This is what deters investment (domestic and foreign) in Nigeria... One day, someone in government wakes up and "revokes" agreements. SMH > |
Depressedkidd:Strawman's Argument, because no one said it has... Nonetheless, FREE societies often tend to be more developed because advancement often arises from disruptive thinking. Nonetheless, the substantive point is that if most Nigerians are actually as disgusted and repulsed as they are said to be with homosexuality, how come they are LITERALLY risking life, livelihood and limb to emigrate to (and assume citizenship of) countries that not only tolerate homosexuality but actually set aside public days of PRIDE in same?! Anyway, I think Naija's anti-gay laws was a factor in the US visa ban, so all should be happy now! > |
NtoAkwaIbom:I ignore uncouth and childish personal insults... They merely betray a lack of substance and a crude and poor upbringing! SMH On the substance of the matter at hand... Of what relevance is the highlighted? If BOTH are corrupt, punish BOTH, not worship one because he built roads. SMDH ![]() > |

SonofDevil:An under-developed country like Nigeria would by definition have MANY "main priorities". And JOBS should be one of the "main priorities" in an under-developed country like Nigeria with a massive unemployment problem. To analogize your argument (paraphrasing mostly your OWN words), the health facilities that receive "most funding" are teaching hospitals and yet the authorities can't pay doctors and house officers all of their allowances. The educational institutions that receive the "most funding" are the universities, and yet the authorities can't pay timely salaries and research grants. The infrastructural projects that receive "most funding" are electricity projects, and yet the authorities can't provide neither adequate nor reliable electricity supply for the overwhelming majority of Nigerians! Therefore, proceeding along your tortured logic, those sectors should "go sit down" while we concentrate on things that pay - like the National Assembly! With all due respect (and frankly not sure how much respect is due you), it is obtuse to make that argument that citizens should be penalized because the government or authorities have badly mismanaged a sector. The fact is that if you have a properly-run and/or managed sports sector, it has the prospect of providing THOUSANDS OF JOBS across Nigeria all along the entire value chain (construction, facilities management, suppliers, managers, security, vendors, kit manufacturers/suppliers, nutritionists, trainers, sports medicine, officials, coachies, administrators, marketers, broadcasters, transporters, logistics, sponsors, advertisers, financiers, lawyers, agents, academies, etc.). Sports can be a viable ECONOMIC SECTOR! > |
NtoAkwaIbom:Most Nigerians thoroughly DESERVE the leaders they get... So because Akpabio built roads and stadium, it was okay for him to be MASSIVELY CORRUPT?! Smdh ![]() > |
I am gonna skip this story and move on... Because it would be distressful for any rational being to witness ZOMBIES defending the so-called "Man of God"! SMH ![]() > |
SonofDevil:Many Nigerians are still ignorant about how massive an ECONOMIC SECTOR that sports can be...smh ![]() > |
YorubaPrince:Dude, you may be "savage" but abegi leave the rest of us out of it... ![]() Meanwhile, these buildings encroach on the Right of Way, and like someone said above the laws should have been enforced long ago against the buildings/builders (if the concerned public servants were not seeking/receiving gratification), but better late than never. > |
Ustec:But financing and worked started under the Jonathan administration... Nigeria conceived, planned and begun embarking upon Africa's biggest and most ambitious rail development and modernization project under the Obasanjo and Jonathan administrations, covering every region of this vast nation with modern standard-gauge double-track rail lines running into several hundreds of kilometers, and thus the projected lifespan of the project was/is not unrealistic. The first phase of the Lagos to Kano line of the project, which is the Abuja to Kaduna portion, was started and financed by the Jonathan administration. What the Buhari administration has done in its 5 years thus far has been to complete the Abuja-Kaduna portion and embark upon the Lagos-Ibadan portion, which it hopes to complete this year (the Minister Amaechi has already said that April is not feasible for completion). At the rate these projects are proceeding (even under the Buhari administration that has publicly accorded it priority), MOST of the rail development masterplan will still be UNCOMPLETED. These include the Ibadan-ilorin portion, the Ilorin-Minna portion, the Minna-Abuja portion, the Kaduna-Kano portion, and of course the Coastal Line (Lagos-Calabar, running through the Niger Delta ) as well as the single track spurs to state capitals. If a subsequent administration(s) complete these phases , wouldn't it be silly for someone to argue PMB deserves NO credit . > |
