EKO ONI BAJE!
Glad the LASG no longer tolerates impunity and lawlessness... Nigerians will moan about chaos and disorder while actively promoting same.
All Nigerians cannot live in Lagos (less than half-percent of Nigerian land mass)... Especially since the NASS has always rejected making a special allocation to Lagos. > |

A terminal is just a building and has NOTHING to do with the ILS system... The ILS is a radio-based navigation system installed at the end of the runway. > |

Cousin9999: lol So mushmouth, babbling entertainers with silly songs requiring little if any skill/talent are "educated" by their experience being exploited by educated people? You merely are reaffirming that you do not grasp what education really is... Nonetheless, any working 'educated' person is being "exploited" by others. Nonetheless, the fact that so-called "mushmouth, babbling entertainers with silly songs" are making an honest (even solid) living and creating jobs, wealth and livelihoods for SCORES of other Nigerians directly (producers, audio, visual and electronic engineers, set, lighting and fashion designers, skilled and semi-skilled artisans, electricians, technicians, transporters, suppliers, managers, security, lawyers, etc.) and indirectly (financiers, vendors, estate agents, car dealers, etc.) is in itself GREAT SKILL AND TALENT! Meanwhile, with all of your "education" (by which you misapprehend your certification to constitute), you have thus far shown little or no skill or talent in anything other than spreading pettiness and bitterness. Yet another very poor "news" report...
Despite the MISOGYNISTIC mentality and style of the reporter intimating that this was essentially a manufactured offense by the girls' parents, there's obviously a HUGE chunk of the story missing.
This is NOT a civil action, and thus the parents' complaint is not controlling. Rather, it's a criminal action brought by the State, and the State would not rely solely on the complainants' words to initiate criminal action which has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. > |

sulaak: Some international airports are designed to reduce the workload on surrounding infrastructures such as roads, rails, parking and accommodation as in the case of Stanstead and Gatwick international airports in the UK
When Abuja airport was shut down for repairs, air traffic was successfully relocated to nearby Kaduna airport with connecting roads and rail between both cities.
An airport can be shut down for multiple reasons such as poor weather, terrorism or in the case of Nigeria lack of maintenance, however, having another international airport close by will avoid the international embarrassment of redirecting air traffic to a foreign country.
An international airport doesn't have to be large megastructures that cause billions of dollars it can be small, but design for international travel.
Building an international airport in a city of 3 million like Ibadan will open up the state to international business and improve regional logistics. There's an airport coming up in Lekki that should be ready at about the time the traffic justifies it... > |

sulaak: Do we we have to wait for the large volume of traffic before we start constructing new airports. A smart country will plans for the future, build the new airports, privatised them (PPP) and generate the business activities that will increase air traffic volumes. I understand that there is a plan to build an international airport in Lekki, brilliant idea as it will serve the financial hub in Lekki and it's immediate surrounding in Epe and Ogun state. International Airports are transformation infrastructure impact the development of a country.
Nigeria is poor because Nigerian cultural and social elites are prepared to tolerate poor leadership, imagine Lagosian protesting to retain Okada and Keke Nepad when they should have been on the street protesting against the deplorable state of the roads, lack of drainage and metro railway in the state. There's no need to build White Elephants... Both of Nigeria's major international gateways in Lagos and Abuja are built to be EXPANDABLE.... Meanwhile, traffic at both airports are less than capacity, and if/when required both would probably be expanded. > |

SarkinYarki: How do u improve visibility? The best thing to do is to fix the ILS in the airport and no claiming you will make weather better
So as a minister of aviation you don't know why Airlines choose to reroute to Ghana other than Abuja ..okay then let me list the reasons out for you .
1 .Kotoka Airport Ghana is closer to Lagos than Abuja and so will save the airline more fuel
2. The ILS service in Abuja airport is epileptic and obsolete CAT 1 while Kotoka has CAT 3b where an aircraft can land with even just 50 ft of visibility
3 .the cost of aviation fuel is cheaper and more accessible than Nigeria
4 Kotoka airport Ghana has better runway service than any airport in Nigeria
So Mr minister you can see why any reasonable crew will opt to reroute to Ghana than head to Abuja BTW, Kotoka Accra actually has CAT 2 ILS, while Abuja (and Lagos) has been testing-running the CAT 3 ILS system since last November in the process of replacing the existing CAT 2 (not CAT 1) system. The system arrived in Nigeria in August 2019, and were installed and being test-run as far back as last November (or even October) with replacement supposed to have been completed by the third week of December, but not sure of the status. > |

Lagos to Accra is same flight time as Lagos to Abuja: 1 hr 15 min. Frankly, it makes little LOGISTIC sense to take Nigeria-bound passengers to Accra (in Ghana) if Abuja (in Nigeria) is available. > |
