PoliticsRe: Buhari's Sack Of Maina An Afterthought – Fayose by 9jja(f): 10:48am On Oct 24, 2017
Please read and answer the question at the end.

I, Brigadier Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, of the Nigerian Army, hereby make the following declaration on behalf of my colleagues and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Fellow country men, the intervention of the military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented enthusiasm. Nigerians were unified in accepting the intervention and looked forward hopefully to progressive changes for the better. Almost two years later, it has become clear that the fulfillment of expectations is not forthcoming.

Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we could not stay passive and watch a small group of individuals misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest.

No nation can ever achieve meaningful strides in its development where there is an absence of cohesion in the hierarchy of government; where it has become clear that positive action by the policy makers is hindered because as a body it lacks a unity of purpose.

It is evident that the nation would be endangered with the risk of continuous misdirection. We are presently confronted with that danger. In such a situation, if action can be taken to arrest further damage, it should and must be taken. This is precisely what we have done.

The Nigerian public has been made to believe that the slow pace of action of the Federal Government headed by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was due to the enormity of the problems left by the last civilian administration.

Although it is true that a lot of problems were left behind by the last civilian government, the real reason, however, for the very slow pace of action is due to lack of unanimity of purpose among the ruling body; subsequently, the business of governance has gradually been subjected to ill-motivated power play considerations. The ruling body, the Supreme Military Council, has, therefore, progressively been made redundant by the actions of a select few members charged with the day-to-day implementation of the SMC’s policies and decision.

The concept of collective leadership has been substituted by stubborn and illadvised unilateral actions, thereby destroying the principles upon which the government came to power. Any effort made to advise the leadership, met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a challenge to authority or disloyalty.

Thus, the scene was being set for systematic elimination of what, was termed oppositions. All the energies of the rulership were directed at this imaginary opposition rather than to effective leadership.

The result of this misdirected effort is now very evident in the country as a whole. The government has started to drift. The economy does not seem to be getting any better as we witness daily increased inflation.

The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored.

This is because a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position.

Furthermore, the initial objectives and programmes of action which were meant to have been implemented since the ascension to power of the Buhari Administration in January 1984 have been betrayed and discarded. The present state of uncertainty and stagnation cannot be permitted to degenerate into suppression and retrogression.

We feel duty bound to use the resources and means at our disposal to restore hope in the minds of Nigerians and renew aspirations for a better future. We are no prophets of doom for our beloved country, Nigeria. We, therefore, count on everyone’s cooperation and assistance.

I appeal to you, fellow countrymen, particularly my colleagues in arms to refrain from any act that will lead to unnecessary violence and bloodshed among us. Rest assured

that our action is in the interest of the nation and the armed forces.

In order to enable a new order to be introduced, the following bodies are dissolved forthwith pending further announcements: (a) The Supreme Military Council (b) The Federal Executive Council (c) The National Council of States. All seaports and airports are closed, all borders remain closed.

Finally, a dusk to dawn curfew is hereby imposed in Lagos and all state capitals until further notice. All military commanders will ensure effective maintenance of law and order. Further announcements will be made in due course. God bless Nigeria.

HealthHelp! Agbor Man Dying At Gbagada General Hospital by 9jja(op): 3:11pm On Oct 08, 2017
Hello people. Please I want to share this information in a bid to save life. Below ia picture of an old man who has lost contact with his family. His name is Mr Kingsley Agboje from Alizor community in Agbor Delta state.

He was a bus driver by profession but did not know how he ended up in the hospital, apparently he had accident, lost consciousness only to recover in the hospital. He said he leaved at Adamins Street Ketu Lagos. Lost his wife in August 2011. Has six children by name Blessing , Chukwudi, Gloria, Mary, Christian and Patience. Blessing is late and he is so attached to Mary who he said lives at Ikorodu and sells food and drinks. I want to say that I have personally tried to track down Mary at Ikorodu but without success . The truth is that because of no adequate care this man is rapidly deteriorating at Gbagada general hospital Lagos. Anyone who knows some folks from Alizor in Agbor should help connect this man family. At least let them know the grave of their father. He defecates and urinates same place at the mercy of unfriendly nurses who seems fed up. You can call 09090102211 for more info.

Thank you .

PropertiesRe: Total Cost To Fence 2 Plots Of Land by 9jja(f): 12:22pm On Aug 09, 2017
twascas:
The Simplest Way To Calculate The Numbers Of Blocks U Need For Your Fence

The simplest way to calculate the numbers of blocks you need for your fence project, assuming you are fencing a land measuring 120 feet by 60 ft, a standard plot

This calculation is based on 9 inches block fence .
The measurement we are using is 120 ft (length) and since we have two lengths that is multiply by 2 which is240 ft. (120 x 2) = 240

The breadth is 60 ft and also since we have 2 breadths that equal 120 ft (60 x 2) = 120
Then (240 + 120) that is 360 feet perimeter line fencing.

The calculation

(we are to convert this 360 feet to inches ) since a foot is 12 inches , now let us multiply 12 inches by 360 ftwhich is 4320 inches.

Now to get the line numbers of blocks that will go around the fence perimeters of 4320 inches or 360 feet, we would need to divide 4320 by 18 inches, since the length of any block be it 6 inches or 9 inches is 18inches.

Now 4320 inches divide by 18 inches is approximately240 line of blocks , then we must multiply that by the numbers of coaches of blocks you want for your height, assuming 7 ft which is 9 coaches that means 240 multiply by 9 which is 2160 blocks and that is all you need anything aside from this is fake and fraud, this calculation is derive by me professionally and i have been using it without any mistake, but always remember to add 10 % of blocks to it because of broken blocks, and for this work, you only need 30 bags of cements, one bag of cement to 70 blocks, is standard.

for your pillars between the fence, let assume 6 blocks far from the next pillar, that means 6 divide by 240 which is 40 pillars, 1 bag of cement to 2 pillars standard, that is 17 bags plus 40 bags that is 47 bags is need by me to do this fence, if i'm in position and you should also to add 15 bags for floor blinding of the fence making 62 bags of cement.

Then, we need to minus the gate and the pillars that are also taking space in the fence.

The gate is 12 ft, let us assume the gate columns or pillars is 14 inches each, we have 2 pillars holding the gate, that is 28 inches or 2. 4 feet plus 12 feet that is 14.4 feet or approximately 15 feet.

Remember we already calculate the pillars that 40 pillars is need for the measurement.

Each pillar or column for 9 inches concrete is 9 inches square, 9 x 40 = 360 inches that is (30 feet + 15 feet = 45 feet ) / 18 inches = 30 blocks multiply by the number of coaches, 30 x 9 = 270 block minus 2160 blocks = 1890 blocks in total.

40 lengths of 12mm iron rod, since one pillar is equivalent to 1 length.

3 lengths of 16mm iron rod for the 2 big pillars holding the gate.

90 planks of soft wood for the framing.

1 truck of granite (granite would be use for the wall foundation and columns)

5 trucks of sharp sand
The only structural engineer in the house. A real f professional.

Thank you for the professional touch. Good to know one can still find human beings in nairaland and not all these touts that full here.

CrimeRe: Nigerian Man Arrested For Raping 47-Year-Old Woman In The US by 9jja(f): 3:59pm On May 05, 2017
When it comes to cases of rape in America, I don't take it serious for one single reason I will enumerate now.

There was case of a Nigerian man who was residing there but his wife and children were here. One day his daughter was raped here and the man came back, worked their papers and took them over to US.

Seeing a new life and a society that gives women power, the wife turned wild, very uncontrollable. The woman was now encouraging the young daughter to bring her boyfriend home. This did not go down well with the man, who took the law into his hands to stop the rubbish. The wife called the police. The man was arrested and the wife instructed the daughter to tell the police that the father was sexually harassing her hence he is jealous of her boy friend. When the daughter was asked of the sexual harassment by the dad, she looked up the mum for minutes. The mum encouraged her to affirm it and she said it.

The man's lawyer told the man that he has to admit it so the sentence will be mild, like 15 years if not he has a long way to go in jail. What did he do you may ask?

The man told his lawyer that it is a taboo for a man to sleep with his daughter in the part of the world where he was born. That it is better he dies in jail than to live with that trauma.

What am I trying to say here? All those claims of rape in America na banza. Some are consensual.
