grandstar:
In the states of Virginia and Maryland, there was as many as 30,000 Igbo slaves.

They were known to be hardworking industrious and having some stronghead. They were known for always running away. There was always news of runaway Igbo slaves.

They were called Bights (from the Bight of Biafra) or Eboe (The whites couldn't pronounce Igbo)

It is estimated that as much as 60% of all African Americans have some drop of Igbo blood.

Yorubas were sent to Brazil, Cuba etc where many customs related to Yoruba culture are still practiced especially in religion (Santeria)

The goddess (Fake god) of the beach in Rio De Janeirio is Yemanja

I am Yoruba and we are all descendants of Adam. We are all one

Hate it or love it, you can tell the ones who still have stronger Igbo genes. Whether it's an unquenchable appetite for money, glam, or attention, you know that its still in them. Arent more Igboes known for dealing drugs? Drug dealers are interesting, i tend to respect their grit and hustle more than anything. Everyone in this hypocritical world is hustling some sort of poison whether it be religion, food, bad sex, medicine, etc. Drug peddlers tend have a good spirit. But there are attributes about them that aren't so glamorous.

There's more to it that i hate and love but African connections are there, they went nowhere. African Americans consist mainly of many African tribes and personalities to deal with. I love the daily challenge. Zoo is everywhere.

Throwback:
While he is tracing his roots to an African tribe, he should be informed that the very same African tribe suffers inferiority complex and have been begging to be accepted as Jews.

It ended in a disgraceful rejection of the wannabes who have no pride of their own African heritage.

Maybe they are Jews. They're not the only blacks im hearing that are claiming Jewish lineage. Aren't many of you Christians or Muslims? Dont many of you get recollection of African history solely from European journals, believing anything a white boy tells them or wrote.

If only TD were a white man then many of you would be flattered that he found an African connection, jostling for his attention and flattered by the mockery. Please stop preaching what's African if you fail to make any obvious connection between those transplanted from their people not too long ago relative to African history, but yet living by every social order from your colonists; starting with Hitler's One Nigeria, responsible for killing over 3 million Jews from '67-70. They're starting to seem more alike.

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu Bags Chieftaincy Title In Ohafia, Abia (Photos) by AAinEqGuinea: 6:00pm On Sep 08, 2017
Takeit2017:
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been reportedly honoured with the highest title in Igbo land, south-eastern Nigeria.

Kanu was decorated with the title of the ‘greatest Biafran Warrior’ by the Odumeze of Ohafia, Abia state, and other elders, according to Somto Okonkwo, who posted the photographs on social media.

Kanu, according to Okonkwo, is now the Otu Onye Nakpu Ogwe 1 of Biafra Land.

However, the controversy that seems to have emerged from the award of the title is the place of the late Biafran warlord, Odumegwu Ojukwu. Ojukwu, who was an officer of the Nigerian Army before the war, is often described as a warrior and even had a title to that effect.

Aniebo Nwamu, a Nigerian analyst, recently said: “One of the prominent titles conferred on Ojukwu on his return from exile in 1982 was Dike Di Ora Mma (The warrior loved by all).”

He described the title as “an apt description of the visionary from the east who was born in the north and grew up in the west.”

Until months ago, Nnamdi Kanu had been in detention on the order of the federal government over alleged treasonable offences.

The government is also reportedly asking the court to withdraw the bail condition it granted Kanu with the argument that he had abused some of the conditions he was given.

It had earlier reported that Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday, September 6, received some IPOB supporters who were released from alleged military detention.

It was gathered that the unarmed youths were detained on Monday night, September 4, at the popular Isi Gate area, after they clashed with the army.

Art, Graphics & Video / Meet Adobe's Featured UX Designer: Joshua Oluwagbemiga by AAinEqGuinea: 5:16pm On Sep 07, 2017

Following a slightly roundabout route to UX and UI design that started with a love for gaming that eventually led to designing apps and websites, Joshua Oluwagbemiga’s passion for producing engaging online projects only grows greater the more he learns about the industry and develops his skills. From his homebase in Lagos, Nigeria, he works full-time at the software development company Intelia, but still finds time to get involved in creative community both online–in forums like Behance–and offline, where he meets up with other designers to talk shop and support each other. We Skyped with Josh at the end of a busy Monday about how good UX and UI design can make users care about a banking app, the allure of trap music, and discovering the “Jedi of design.”

What drew you to UX/UI design, and how did you get your start?

I played a lot of games growing up–like Call of Duty, Mortal Combat Deception, Winning Eleven, and Freedom Fighters–and eventually got curious about how they were made. I began studying 3D design about four years ago through online courses and personal projects, but it was really complex and I felt like I needed a more comprehensive education to master it. I thought about saving up money to go to Gnomon in Los Angeles [a school for computer graphics in the entertainment industry], but eventually decided to transfer my creative powers to another field instead. I started exploring and discovered UX and UI design, and have been in love ever since.

Because of my 3D design experience, I had a solid background in things like color theory and grid placements; once I got into UI and UX, everything just kind of fell into place. I started working at marketing agency after graduation, and everything’s just gone from there.

How does Adobe Creative Cloud fit into your creative process?

I’ve always been a paper and pencil guy, so I usually start sketching UI ideas and elements for a few hours before I go digital. Then I take those concepts into Adobe XD, which I’ve been using regularly for almost a year now. The software is so clean and its foundation is so impressive. It quickly became my favorite program because it’s so fast, and allows me to communicate with my clients in real time about our projects; I can send a link instead of a large file, and they can see changes I’ve made, provide instant feedback, and leave comments as well.

How do you get into the mindset of your potential users?

At the beginning of every project I tackle, I make sure that I define a specific target audience (TA), then I’ll study and research what resonates with them, looking at everything from existing apps in the marketplace to larger trends to colors to general habits. This helps develop a strong foundation for the visual design.

The actual user testing process varies based on budget. For most projects, I show colleagues and friends rough sketches of what I have in the pre-wireframe phase to see if they can understand the basics. Based on their feedback I’ll develop wireframes, then show those to the same people to see if they can follow the methodology of the app or site. I refine their input to begin the visual design. Usually at the end of that phase, we’ll employ a larger user testing process, bringing people from the pre-defined target audience to try out the app or site and study if ideal usability is achieved

Let’s look at a few of your projects. What was your process like creating PAWS, a template for veterinarian offices, and AIICO Pension Plus, an app for managing finances?

PAWS is a client based in the United States that wanted to offer veterinarians a fresh approach to present their services online. I started doing research and realized that lots of existing vet websites are really stale and bland; we decided to offer modern HTML templates in three gradient color themes that would really resonate with a variety of pet owners, with options to book appointments, view galleries, and learn about the staff.

Suggestions that the Ancestors of Human Beings Originated From Africa

Charles Darwin was the first scientist to suggest that the ancestors of human beings may have originated from Africa. But racism and the prejudicial attitude of many people in the Western world to Africa, made many people in the West highly resistant to such suggestions until very well into the twentieth century.

You are not making sense, you don't have to respond when you no longer know what to say

My contention was with:
History has shown that the most successful Nigerians are the ones that were born, educated and raised in Nigeria. I am yet to see a Nigerian-American who dares come close to the big names we have here in Nigeria. These guys are not demons. They are human. Just like you and I. Nigeria has one of the largest population of youths in the world which no doubt, is good. But the bad side is that these youths believe in becoming a millionaire overnight which is not possible anywhere in the world. There are so many ways one can make it in Nigeria.

Nigeria can be a powerhouse churning out success stories on every corner. Until that time comes, and to maybe escape from it all, I'd welcome Nigerians here in America by the boatload. Lets leave it at that. A few homegrown success stories doesn't make a country great and I'd argue Nigeria's added layer of needless suffrage and corruption doesnt yield added grit, as many will fall through the cracks of Nigeria's suffrage, corruption, and neglect. I'd rather those Nigerians come here rather than be sold another "there's glory at the end of your pain" fallacy.

Thank you very much for your kind contribution. While I agree with most of what you've said, I beg to disagree on the part that says,"lack of opportunity for a better life.....". We the youth cannot continue to blame the government. The government does not create job anywhere in the world. Rather, they can only create enabling environments, thus, enabling investors to come in and create jobs. In this case, the government has failed to create the environment. But that does not mean that we should all run away. We have to become our own governments and stop making excuses. Statistics shows that Nigerians are one of the most successful black race on earth. These guys can go anywhere and make it. Correct me if am wrong. Therefore, this country has a very great future. Let nobody deceive anybody by telling them that once they go to America or Europe, they become rich. That is a blatant lie my friend. For me, I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees. We know what happens to immigrants in America or Europe. Especially Europe. Gracias!.

Sure, there are few people who managed to monetize a legitimate hustle, but you're only as strong as your weakest links. 'Giant of Africa', 'Lion of Africa', thats a tall order in which I'd argue Nigeria has regrettably failed to exhibit. Nigeria's leadership cant live up to the potential of its people. There are only a few African giants while the rest of Nigeria starves. Babies being flushed in gutters, young people go to college just to become jobless, starving, or victims or witnesses of jungle justice or another man's selfish ritual, poorly sustained public services and infrastructure, no more exploited oil; many people are now conditioned to live like animals just to survive. The government created this mess and those giants and those enabled by them continue looking out for themselves, now behind the guise of restructuring. When you're facing challenges of Nigeria's magnitude you can do anything anywhere, but is it worth it?

Just about every black race has a chapter were they've shown exceptional abilities. First Black doctor here, Fine Black NASA scientist there, Black reincarnate of white everywhere... We're all living by standards we never created, but this is an area I'd love to see Nigeria shine either in the UK, America, or NAIJA grin . But history has proven that once the black race competes to live up to white standards that this is also where most blacks fail or tend to look out for themselves rather than the betterment of the group/country/tribes/race. Once Nigeria's greed discovered oil, the giants always looked out for themselves. Once Nigeria's fearless greed found Jesus, the pastoral giants never stood up to the government on behalf of the people and have only looked out for themselves for the most part. I could go on, but admittedly Nigeria isnt alone here, but then again the title of "Giant/Lion of Africa" is a tall order in which I believe Nigeria or Biafrans can do it, but until that time, come over to America, lets talk about it. cool

Chief, you better remain in Naija. Don't go and be a second class citizen in another man's land. If people outside will tell you what they really go through, nobody will agree to live naija. So, tell your brother to remain here with us bro. If we all run away for these politicians, who will push them to do the right thing. As for me, I was born here, and I am going to die here. Am not going anywhere. By the time you spend a year or two there, you will understand. Good luck .

You're right man. I've always believed in the naija people even if it meant going seperate ways for the better of all. As much as Buhari is largely incompetent and reactionary, if one wishes to leave Naija's dreadful leadership and lack of opportunity for a better life I'd love it, and I wish more Nigerians and Kenyans would come to America (but no more Somalis please).

As much as I am pro-Biafra until I die, for the sake of Naija people theres a part of me that wishes Nigeria leadership would get it together so the populace can thrive. I doubt Nigeria's leadership ever will so until then I wish I had more resources to help Naijans if they ever come to America. But I hope all remains well while you hold down Naija.
