Take heart bro. I know no amount of consolation will mean anything to you at this point but I assure that you'll get over her after month or a couple of months. Learn from your experiences while you were in the relationship for a better relationship in the future .
On the other hand I've never liked the issue of money/finance coming up in a relationship which has made me look quite selective of even the women I associate with. I feel more comfortable with women who have got plans , dreams, Ambitions and a zeal for hard work over women who simply rely on me/men for the betterment of their lives . Take money matters out of a relationship and things will fall in line .

I have worked for about three years now having earned a bachelors degree at 22 at an american institution and a masters degree at 23 at a british uni. However, I despite my humility and respect towards people I come along, I still hear bout people calling me a big boy / acting like a big boy and all sorts. Don't know if its because of my weight/height (I'm 6ft tall weighing about 107kg ), dressing (simple but neat and good looking) or my lifestyle. I go on vacation at least once a year, hardly eat out but when I do its usually at a nice restaurant, use a mac & iphone as well as drive a honda accord discussion continues (2009) and have a girlfriend who I started dating from uni who maintains a lifestyle similar to mine . I try to be comfortable and sometimes it looks like I'm living in luxury when I hear what people say . But I dont see anything big bout how I live and will like to know from my fellow nairalanders if what I've outlined is in any way above the expected comfort zone of a nigerian youth?

Yep was retained at Chams in October 2015 but rejected the offer after which I was given a better offer in November 2015. But when the recession came the company was badly hit and a lot of restructuring took place so due to the level of uncertainty I got another job and left after about 8 months

It means you passed the test but please accept the job only as a temporary one as its peopleplus not zenith. Even fulltime Zenith employees are looking for a way out except those in the assistant manager cadre upwards.

most graduate in Nigeria deserve to be flogged, they are just so lazy to set up business all dragging job with an ssce holder, because of no job

why can't them create jobs, imagine a mechanical engineer who can not service a generator but working as a cashier

where do many people do IT (Industrial Training) today, in the shop of an uneducated man

many of the big business today are people who are nit university graduate

Transportation industry today how many graduate have a transport company or logistics company or even courier company

thus are all done by people who didn't go to university

why must our graduate be waiting for employment instead of them to be creating start up companies like in India and other asia country

I've come to find out that the best thing for me to do in life is to be my own boss, is a hard road but i pray it will worth it at the end

graduate should start creating jobs rather than waiting for jobs

A job is more comfortable however the opportuned and smart ones use savings from their salaries to try out one or two businesses

Cool . At least better late than never. Those cash & teller roles are not meant for uni graduates. In first world nations those roles are performed by high school graduates while in naij they say OND is the requirement but cuz of the high rate of unemployment you now have bsc holders applying for such roles in large numbers and there's really nothing much a graduate can learn on such roles

I did Accountancy in School, made good grades, went on to become a Chatered Accountant during Nysc. I was ready for the market out there. Got calld for virtually all the companies i apllied for. KPMG( a top Accounting firm), Guiness, MTN and a whole lot of Banks.

I served with Oceanic Bank then and got retained by them, i stayed back and that was where my mistake started from. I spent 7 yrs doing customer service and cash management.

No matter how good you are at branch banking, its Zero experience.

Though i later got a job in the oil and gas sector in Finance Department. I will call it a miracle. I was just lucky they started with a GMAT test which saw most guys with the experience rhey really wanted failing. So when it got to interview time, the 7 of us that passed the test dint have the requisite experience, so whoever spoke well had a better chance, i spoke well and got the job along one other guy.
Both of us came from the banking industry and had to take a 6 months freshers course even if we had worked 7 years each.

The subsequent year, the company dint conduct test, they did straight interview and picked 3 guys who had 5 years experience in core Accounting. They came from Price Water House and KPMG. They resumed and got 2 steps ahead of me.

I sha thank God i got what i got. I had to learn every on the job. excel, power point, Sap and Other Accounting software. It was not easy at all.

I still maintain that switching from Branch Banking to any other field is difficult. no experience in banking.

When you say banking I guess you meant cash & teller , customer service and ATM handling. Cuz if worked at the head office of the bank you'd have been in a specialised department ( treasury , trade services , info technology , legal , research & intelligence, audit & control ...) and would have had a much more better and valuable experience.

As humans we are all different and as such have our prorities and all. For me, I'm all about comfort.
Even if I'm not wealthy I believe in living a comfortable life. When I was a student in UK I spent
45% of my monthly allowance on paying my rent (450quid) and another 50 to 80 quid monthly on bills.

Fast forward i finished and worked a bit before coming to partake in the almighty nysc. Was posted to
lagos and rented a house in lekki for 1.3M. People said all sorts of things but i didnt care. All I wanted was comfort. Why should I work morning to evening and spend 2 to even 6 hours in traffic if I can make things better. What kinda life is that

Left the house at 7:45am most days and returned before 5:30pm most days. While strolling to ebeano store one day I met an UBA ED
also taking a walk and we chatted and exchanged numbers. Today he is like a friend. Again I met also met the CFO of one of the
old generation banks whiloe jogging at night on the3 lekki-ikoyi link bridge and we pretty much had something to talk about and
we exchange emails from time to time. I also met someone who was doing some church envagelism work one saturday. He pretty much
stopped me to preach to me. I listened and he invited me to his church. I later found out that he is the CIO of a major company
in Nigeria and we pretty much chat from time to time. Two weeks after nysc I got retained where I served in VI. 8 months later I
got higher paying job in another much bigger corporation in VI (both jobs were in my field).

If i was in ikorodu or some sort these opportunities may not have come. Someone once told me jokingly that your location may
play a role in where you'll be placed.

Nope . By zenith bank . After spending some time here I've figured out that most of the entry level recruitment is done through peoplesplus and it's a contract thing with no benefits other than the 70k or thereabout monthly takehome.

If HR sends you a text make sure the SMS reads "ZenithBank invites you for....." Anything that has to do with peopleplus is not worth it except you have no other job .

Uploaded my CV to the bank's career portal and got called up four months after.

I know of a senior manager who was layed off on Monday with a severance package though

So I know someone on level 8 at nimasa who claims his salary + allowances is about 7M per annum. I doubt that in as much as I know NIMASA has a good pay structure but can someone help me confirm? Even an NDIC employee claims to be earning 6M + per annum(he has an MSc though). What are the current figures for these agancies?

Such a combo of brain & beauty should be in a Russel group school. There are many in London. Since she's probably not in actual Coventry town but in the London satellite campus. I know the place well. London School of Economics (LSE) would be more like it. Or London Business School.

We Africans should aspire more when it comes to choosing schools abroad. I sincerely want the mentality of thinking that "elite schools will not admit you" to stop.
However, fees in the elite schools cost a lot more. So I can understand if that is an object.

Confirmed. Elite schools tend to grant you access to better network, better teachers and overall learning experience is much better. With or without a UK work visa with an education from the elite school you can do more than you think as you are mentally challenged at elite schools and prepared to be able to create/add value anywhere. In my uni then (russell group 2012) there were three africans in my class and i'm still in touch with them. One is now an IT audit specialist at the Bank of Ghana (central bank of ghana), the other is an IT analyst at the judiciary of rwanda (Rwanda's ministry of justice) and I am a technologist (develop banking applications) at one of nigeria's biggest banks working directly with the CIO and all. We are all doing something. on the contrary I have friends from many of these UK universities (former polytechnics) still job hunting / sitting at home / condemning British education. I even know someone who graduated from LSE last year and has just been offered a position at world bank's HQ in washington DC...

Well Coventry University gets a lot of funds from Nigerian students so it is understandable why they opted to use your sister's picture. On the contrary I still wonder why a first class material will choose coventry uni over the russell group universities or more elite universities in the U.S. I remember this guy who spent 8 years failing and struggling to earn his bachelors. Fast forward with no work experience I later heard he was undertaking master at coventry uni. You even find people with no work experience getting accepted to the school's MBA program. People with lower than third class grades also being offered positions at coventry uni. Personally, I wont advise Nigerians to enroll at coventry uni. Just my opinion though

Just c out your contract before u start tinkin of conversion. Number of years it takes before conversion is not fixed, therefore it can happen at any point in time to anyone they deem fit. Bear in mind that Pple that got into d system after u can be converted before you, buh it doesn't mean they've done some xtra ordinary tin, its just d way it is. I take it you ve earned your first sal pay, abeg take am easy o. No go dey blow upandan. peace

I overhead one AGM telling his subordinates bout the new tax calculation but there are rumours that ET's earned 3k less and EA's earned 10k less but don't know what ET's and EA's earned before I joined since no one was willing put up the info before I joined... Also didn't see the pop up bout the reduction on portal as I guess it was cleared before I joined..

I joined last month and haven't really familiarised myself with the system at least I'm still in the process.

as far as I know,zenith don't recruit ET. The best that can happen is that you can be converted fast without reaching the two years. Anyway anything can happen. Maybe if your uncle is an AGM above you can be recruited as ET direct. ET salary is 135k minus upfront and leave bonus.

So ET is actually 129k. Does zenith pay 13th month as well as profit sharing ?
