This nairaland SA visa blog is not as helpful as that of UK. Members aren't as open or make contributions to enquiries made by other members . I also didn't get any response when I made my enquiries a few weeks back . Kindly call VFS and find out what your options are .
Car TalkRe: Why Is It Hard For Nigerians To Stay In Their Lanes While Driving. by abnot: 9:00am On Jul 01, 2016
Most people dont know the meaning of good driving as what you are complaining about is all they have known or seen since they started driving. They got their license by simply paying the fees and they havent witnessed driving in more developed nations. As a result the typical ideology here is that the best driver is one who is fast and speeds and all.

Lawyers in the house, are the defendants usually arrested as well or just invited to attend the court hearing? Cuz the trial mentions david, Abiye membere and victor briggs (both former MD's of NPDC) as defendants.

NYSCRe: Prospective Corpers Embark On A Peaceful Protest by abnot: 1:14pm On May 25, 2016
Youths of today go and be productive. During my post-graduation from university, NYSC was more of a distraction than a productive exercise. I searched for and was already working as a contract staff at a firm before and during NYSc to gain some experience. By the time I was done with NYSC I was armed with lots of professional training, relevant work experience and an offer letter for a fulltime position which I considered rejecting. Open your eyes and take responsibility for yourselves rather than wasting your time protesting.

RomanceRe: Why Do The Rich Marry The Rich And The Poor Marry The Poor.... by abnot: 11:00am On May 05, 2016
Usually the rich and the poor have completely different lifestyles in today's world. Back in the days children of both the rich and poor attended public or missionary schools but today its different. The rich and the poor attend different schools. The rich usually work in elite organizations and also worship at elite churches and all. So it is very possible for the rich and the poor to never come together.
Will give an example, I consider myself to have originated from a middle class family however my parents introduced me to some sort of eliticist education which saw me attend secondary school with the children of governors , service chiefs , a sitting vice president and some wealthy business moguls. From their I proceeded to an elite ancient university in scotland which also got me close to africans from upper class families as well as upper middle class whites. We ate at high end restaurants, partied with style at porsche clubs and casinos and all. Sometimes we planned weekend trips to places like barcelona, paris, amsterdam, berlin, madrid, geneva, las vegas and lodged at 4 or 5-star hotels......I had this belief that this was the normal way of life everywhere till i got to NYSC camp and saw how people lived/behaved (poverty mentality/lifestyle).... Then I realized that all along I had been living away from the realities of the saying that "nigeria had poverty in it" . So assuming I didnt spend some time at the NYSc camp i would not have had any form of interaction with the poor. A good number of my friends have had no interaction with people from the lower class and as such will not or let me say didnt end up marrying the poor; not out of arrognce but due to inaccessibility. You cant marry someone you havent interacted with.
CareerRe: Masters Or Stay On Job? by abnot: 5:08pm On May 03, 2016
It depends on your interest. However, what's the possibility of securing a job as good as your current job or even better at the end of your masters degree?
I would have advised that you kept your job but I understand that your interest may be beyond your job.
Let me use my dad's case as an example. He left his job at Shell petroleum back in his days to go pursue a masters and eventually a Phd virology in USA and Canada respectively. He returned to Nigeria and joined the academia and performed very well in the academia and consulted for the federal ministry of health in the later days of his career and operated at a high level in his field. In the long run he may have made more oil money but he feels very happy that he made that decision because he feels more relevant and satisfied in the research field. Successive health ministers from 2001 till 2015 all signed him on board to work with them as a consultant and on several committees which exposed him to high level health officials/network of different nations.

So kindly think about what you want cuz most people will advice you to stay and enjoy the oil money

Bro why would you chose the UK for holiday on that salary? Flight ticket alone will take at least 3months of your salary let alone hotel, feeding and transport within the UK.

So basically you are going to spend almost all of that 500k in few days in the UK.

It will be difficult for you to get a visiting visa on that salary
His salary is okay for visa purposes

At the POE in Uk they dont usually ask for evidence that you have money with you...the main thing is, you immigration status eg answer questions correctly in line with whats in their system and your visa.

Well, i have never been asked anything both in London and Manchester airport about whether i have money with me or not others might have such experience sha.
Thanks as you said I arrived Heathrow this morning with only £120 cash and was not asked bout money . Was only asked why I was seeking entry to the UK , how long I planned to stay , if I planned to stay with friends and what I was doing in the UK up till 2014 (I was on a tier 4 then)

So apparently withdrawals in UK with a stanbic IBTC Naira mastercard attracts a rate of NGN420 to the pound while buying at the black market attracts a rate of NGN455 to the pound. Is it OK to travel with just GBP100 cash and withdraw the rest upon arrival in UK? I want to know if having a funded bank account will be acceptable in place of physical cash by the UKVI peeps at heathrow as it will be more profitable to travel with a bank card and a little cash as opposed to changing entire money with the present black market exchange rate.

Set the balance aside ... How much comes into your account monthly . This could be your mean monthly income for the past 6 months

The Guru's in the house, I need your guides on my application. I am planning to renew my UK visa (2 years). I have almost N1.7m with my cooperative. I do not have any savings in my account as my money goes into my building project immediately it comes in. I travelled to UK twice last year with my 6months visa. 1st trip, I spent just 7 days and 1month on my second trip. I work in a reputable organization with a salary of 150k, I have spent almost 8 years with the organization. I have N1m in my PFA account as well. I am married with kids. Please, how do I package my account for this application. I humbly await your guide, please.
The amount you have with your cooperative wont be taken into consideration because it is not readily available to you. Try and accumulate some money in your salary account and present the salary account statement along with your pay slip.

thanks but my question is who goes on vacation with his monthly salary .. every one uses money saved for that ..

and more over he makes 3324+2880 = 6204ghs = 1088gbp and spends just 200gbp on living expenses which leaves him with a revenue of like 888 every month for savings ... 888x2 gives you 1776gbp that is just two months salary .....

* should we reduce the budget instead ??

thanks
Reduce your budget. Even if you plan to spend £10,000 on the trip for the purpose of meeting the tourist visa requirment reduce your budget because the ECO will consider your monthly income as your main source and will want to make comparison.

Incorrect. ZAR is easily changeable at pretty much any bureau de change in the UK including all of the ones at the airport.
Depending on how long you plan to stay in the UK a stubborn ECO May find the £150 or £200-£300 too small for the traveller's period of stay

hello house

Dear ppl really need your help badly

a friend applied for a uk visa with these dos

offer letter
intro letter
pay slip
bank statement with bal of 39,000GHS
commercial car papers
private car papers
commercial car papers contract with driver
travel itinerary
cover note
flight reservation
hotel booking
tour reservation

after all these docs he was refused

the reason: " you propose a 13-day visit for the purpose of tourism.

you have stated on you application that you are single and are employed as a marketing manager and earn 3,324ghs = 583.24 gbp per month

* you havestated that you spend 200gbp per month on living expenses , leaving you with a disposable income of 383.24gbp. you state that the cost of you personally is 1800gbp. this amount is 4x your monthly income once living costs have been deducted and i am not satisfied this is credible considering your personal and financial circumstances

* in light of the above ************** "

aside from his monthly salary his driver deposits an amount of 2880ghs into his account every month 3324+2880 = 6204ghs = 1088gbp

pls advise on what we should do as he wants to re -apply asap
Man your salary is more than enough ; I wonder why peeps are saying your finances arent good enough. I earn £150 less than you and applied with a bank balance of about £2700 and still got issued the 2 year c-visit visa early this month. Try and reduce your budget . That £1800 is too much considering your income. Come up with a more realist budget of like £1000 and reduce your monthly cost of living to like £163. Also reduce the amount of days you plan to stay to 8 days. Book a hostel rather than a hotel. You should be able to find a hostel that will cost about £180 for 8 days (which sorts out your accommodation), you should be able to get a £620 flight from accra (TAP portugal or Royal air maroc) and budget £250 for miscellaneous. Also list out the activities your plan to undertake on a separate paper during your stay in UK.

Thanks for your prompt response. The institution I am working with doesn't issue pay slip to their employees, I am thinking that if payslips are not issued, how will I proof to the embassy that my employer pay tax and also is it possible for the total deduction of one's income to be a rounded number amount, like #15,000?
Submit the bank statement where your salary is deposited into. Asterik all monthly salary payments on the bank statement and then write a comment regarding the absence of your payslips in the additional information section on the application form and all state that you have highlighted your monthly income from your source of employment on your bank statement.

No,they were nt....bt the irony is that I was even trying to get a SA visit visa to build my travel history.....I felt mayb it was d Canada visa label @ the back cover of the passport that influence the visa officer decision cuz non-convincing sounds strange.
Thought as much but wanted to be sure. How good is your salary and all? Try Ghana first, then may be UAE before RSA or EU... Although you can still get a US, UK or schegen visa on a blank passport however for people who find it difficult with a good number denials , it will be better to build a travel history first with these low risk countries in africa/middle east

Hello House,

Please Im currently about to finalise my uk application, however I'll like to know what rate I will be charged. Will it be official or will depend on the Bank card I will be using?
if you are using a naira debit card you'll be charged based on the bank's rate for today which is around +-370 to $1

What of if make the payment using the company's cheque?
As far as the company name is displayed on your bank statement as the source of the funds and it is consistent (for instance transfer is made on the fourth week of every month consistently for 6 months or more).

@ abnot, pls what is the implication of paying 'yourself' in cash and not thru 'bank transfer'?
Normally in this era payment of salaries/allowances via cash is very vague as bank electronic transfer is the norm creating room for verification of the source of the money and thereabout.
Regarding the UK visa, one route most illegal immigrants have used in entering UK is via the visit visa whereby they overstay the visa's duration. Consequently, entry clearance officers are usually very strict with the financial part of visa applications especially from third world countries like Nigeria.
It is believed and a known fact that with a good economic situation, an applicant is not likely to immigrate to the UK illegally via a visit visa

None bt I v applied to Canada and the US though
Were your applications to the Canadian high commission and the TS embassy successful? I dont see why a tourist visa to RSA should be hard. Am suspecting that your lack of travel history influenced their decision to deny your application with the "non-convincing" clause. May be you should consider building your travel history with countris like GHana, Senegal or Dubai then give SA another try.
