SlayerForever: This comment is so twisted and wrong. They have no intention of moving forward because they're not interested in Nigeria anymore? Almost 70 years of wilderness in this godforsaken country and the people want to leave but to you they are not ready to move forward.
You are a short distance away from political extremism. If you were in power you would kill all Igbo secessionists.
Gosh. The whole point of starting these polititcal organizations and movement is so you can have a peaceful secession it's either you gain power democratically and change the constitution so a referendum can be held or you have a bloody civil war and where exactly does extremism come into play in my comments? |

SlayerForever: Good suggestion. Uniting all Igbos in Nigeria under one political party can get us many things truly.
Now, the next question is : what if the Igbos have zero interest in doing so. What then? Then they have no intention of moving forward as one people I see no reason why they'd rather have millions of themselves killed instead of forming a political party and uniting with over political groups with like minded ideologies and views. |

enemybulldozer: You are still not making any sense to me because you've not answered my questions.
Since politics is the language you understands, how do we cross that big gate which is INEC?? Since we are not the ones in control of INEC and we all know that elections in this contraption has never been free and fair. What part of INEC is the problem registration? If it's not registration but the election you're worried about all I can say is that the people will know if INEC has stolen their mandate either in 2023 or 2027 the people will come together and vote the right leader if the leader is not given power properly and the election is clearly rigged they will revolt and they will take back power and give it to the rightful leader would you not prefer such a revolution over a civil war? |

nakaman: Nice thought, but how are we to trust the Yoruba, in igbo land they are believed to be saboteurs after the war. At least you used believed to be, because they aren't as many know i'm half Igbo and i'm half Yoruba so I have a perspective from both sides of the argument and I can say confidently that we can unite easily without much problem as long as we have the right representatives on both sides. The only way for such a union to take place is for a common ground to be found until that happens not much unity can be achieved but when the Yoruba and Igbo find a common ground then the north will be defenseless against the movement that will take place across the south |

Of course war is not the solution only a true peoples revolution can save Nigeria until we come together as one people and revolt against the current system we will not move forward join M.O.P today the Movement Of The People to once and for all discard of the current rot of the system and give us the Nigeria we deserve. |

Another thing is that it's not everybody that claims to be Igbo is truly Igbo by blood. Some was born out of promiscuous lifestyle of their mothers that's why I don't take them serious neither do I take there words as the truth.

enemybulldozer: How do you take political power without the INEC?? Are you the one controlling INEC?? Do you really think that the powers that be will allow IPOB to take over political power in the East just like that?? Ok, can you tell us what happened to the mandate Imo citizens gave to Emeka Ihedioha?? Boy is like you're not in this country to know and understand how things work here. What's stopping you from creating a political party and uniting all the Igbos under it? If this party could win 90% of positions in the house if assembly as well as governorship positions what exactly is stopping them from spreading their influence into other parts of the south giving it the chance to win the presidential election? I've already started with this since December 2020 i've joined a political movement and we've been trying to get registered and we've done at least 20 grassroot meetings in Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Kano, Kogi and Rivers and as more members join the movement can become bigger the only way to move forward in politics is through action. |
Culture › Re: A Historical Narrative Of Oduduwa. by Abohboy: 8:40am On Sep 10, 2021 |
samuk: You are right, the Oduduwa story is a shared fairytale between Benin and Yoruba. There are accounts of Oduduwa climbing down from heaven with chains. The current Ooni claim that when the Ooni dies, they become Egyptian god Osiris, he also claimed that the 4th Ooni lived for 400 years before becoming a deity. What makes the story of Oduduwa fake if you believe the stories in the bible? Why can someone ride on a chariot to heaven but someone cannot come down to earth on a golden chain? The current Ooni isn't very knowledgable and doesn't even serve his purpose right 98% of traditional rulers have given up on our cultural practices and history |

SlayerForever: A referendum for secession does not exist in the Nigerian constitution. So what do you want the people to do? As I said if you can get the right leaders to take over power a referendum can be started, the best way to gain power is either through a strong grassroot movement or by changing the ruing parties from the inside out |

SlayerForever: I just want to ask a simple question : if you don't want people to sit at home as a form of protest, what is the alternative you're suggesting? Open protest, rioting, another war?
What do you really want? For us to take the situation as it is and siddon look like the Nigerians?
What do you really want the Igbo man to do? Form political organizations and unions then take over power in the SE then from there you can work with the SW and get a sutiable leader to win the election then you can get your referendum and everybody is happy. |

It's JSS history that most west African ethnic groups migrated from the nile valley are
This I one of the evidences Yoruba migrated from that area
Abohboy Not all of the words are exact but I definitely agree with this apart from language there are even cultural practices and evidence in our religion the only question that needs to be asked is why didn't their knowledge and infrastructure come here as well? Or were the skilled artisans kept in Egypt and only basic workers and civilians emigrated |

sherlock229: Hmmm interesting analysis, I'm yoruba and I notice this too, of course it's easy to know when someone has bleached or not, so most natural lightest skinned Yoruba I've seen are usually from Oyo state, my Dad is very light skinned, his mother too is very light skinned, i saw a woman who look fulani in feature and very light skin but has Oyo accent in a bus one day, I'm also light skinned, same as some of my siblings.. then again my mom is also from Oyo but she's dark asf and same with most of her family, my mom family dark ,my dad family light skin lol . But yes northern Yorubas are usually the lightest I know Ijebus who are also very light skinned so it can't be climate or because of the DNA of Oyo yorubas |

BKayy: Wow. Nice 1. For a Christian, you did very well in the explanation. Now Mr Abohboy, Alụsi is not what they wrote on some blog or website. In the simplest term I can explain, Arụsi is where you go to get justice. It is not a place for divination where one person will throw Cowries on the ground. If you want divination, you go to okwu agwụ where your problem will be traced (ịgba afa). And you going there to lay complain doesn't mean that you are exempted from the punishment if later you are found to be guilty. Call it a spiritual court because the problem will be looked into by non living and judgement served accordingly Aren't Alusi talked to through divination I know one Dibia on twitter and that's what he said but yes at the same time they also do what you said are you sure that divination isn't for Alusi |
Politics › Re: Isoko Tribe Of Bayelsa State And Igbo Misconception by Abohboy: 5:34pm On Sep 09, 2021 |
Ariani: It makes sense that Alusi is Alukwusi! Igbo and Yoruba are two distinct people who had interactions in the distant past and shraed some words and ideas as evidence of that interaction.
Orisha can be broken down in Yoruba too. Ori in Yoruba means head! So Orisha has something to do with the cult of the head or sort of leadership, many native African tribes have this cult of head ish rumoured to have been from the black Egypt (Kemet). This is entirely not what Alusi is about.
Alusi is about cleansing of the land from abomination. Oh okay I thought you were saying Alusi were the abominations thanks for clearing it up |
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Abohboy: 5:31pm On Sep 09, 2021 |
PROVERBZ: I did not see any reason to continue that arguement. You argument was based in conspiracy theories. Ancient Egyptians where not blacks!!! And they were certainly not igbo or Yoruba. There's hieroglyphics where there are purely black people in them and I said that there is evidence in cultural relations between ancient egypt and sub saharan African cultures then there's still the information on healthcare, quality of life and the supposed dark ages Africa was in I made multiple poitns and gave examples please rebuttle against that one at least if you don't believe the Egyptian one. |
Politics › Re: Isoko Tribe Of Bayelsa State And Igbo Misconception by Abohboy: 4:40pm On Sep 09, 2021 |
Ariani: He has already broken Alusi down nah.
Alusi = Alu kwusi! Meaning "let abomination stop" in English.
It makes perfect sense. Bros I grew up abroad I don't speak any Nigerian language thank you for the translation but how does let abomination stop make sense for the meaning of deities worshipped and venerated what abomination were they stopping I really hope this isn't from a western or abrahamic religion point of view. Alusi like the Orisha were spoken to through divination called Ifa or Afa by a Dibia or Babalawo and you couldn't and wouldn't directly speak to the supreme deity that being Chukwu or Olodumare and what held your destiny and also guided you in life was your ori or chi I see no where in this explanation where these two religions differ so it wouldn't make sense for Alusi or Alu Kwusi as you say to suddenly have something to do with an Abomination |

PROVERBZ: u know damn well the Egyptian empire did not include sudsaharan Africa. So who were the Dark Skinned people in the hieroglyphics? There were two types of people in Ancient Egypt and in their Hieroglyphics the copper skinned or red skinned type people and the dark skinned fellow and we know by basic knowledge that the dark skinned fellows were Africans go and read Cheikh Anta Diop all the evidence is there to show that some of the Ancient Egyptians and some of their Pharoahs were black Africans you can even see how their culture has passed onto ours and how their religion is also very similar to ours. for example the cow tail which is used at yoruba and igbo ceremonies and held by chiefs has been seen in ancient egyptian hieroglyphics what are the chances that we have the same cultural practice as a people we are unrelated to? There is ample evidence to show that the Yoruba and Igbo of today and many other groups in Sub Saharan Africa bare ancestry of Ancient Egyptians my personal theory is there was an indigenous population or aboriginals and then the Ancient Egyptian immigrnats came and influenced the local culture in those areas giving the end result which is seen today in thousands of diverse cultures and practices. |

In my own community people would live way beyond 80 years and those who died early was mostly from natural causes eg animal attacks, injuries sustained from war It's more the invasion of foreign diseases never seen before that devastated a lot of native populations |
