Politics › Seun Kuti's 'Movement Of The People' Political Party Very Close To Registration by Abohboy(op): 1:50pm On Aug 28, 2021*. Modified: 2:49pm On Aug 28, 2021 |
It was mentioned back in December that Seun Kuti had the intention to register MOP ( Movement Of The People ) as a political party in Nigeria and he approached INEC with a document of interest for registration back in January earlier this year.
Well as of now they are holding the NEC and SEC elections for the party.
They've completed the manifesto, code of conduct and party constitution
They've set up secretariats in 5 states and FCT so far ( Lagos, Anambra, Ogun, Rivers and Kogi )
Once they've set up base in 5 more states then they approach INEC for final registration so we're currently looking at October this year latest January 2022. |

Now I know to never make a thread about anything to do with development between the yoruba and the igbo for whatever reason there is tension between the two groups when we should be uniting I said Onitsha using highrises due to lack of space is an innovation that should be recycled in other Nigerian cities and then some people who have no sense and can only see ethnicity thought I was insulting yoruba cities and they proceeded to brign up random information that had nothing to do with my original view or statement.
Oduduwa and Biafra can never work and the way things are going neither can Nigeria all these ethnic groups will simply become like DRC in perpetual poverty and controlled by the west like a toy because they cannot simply unite and do the right thing they can't even acknowledge when another ethnic group has done something well.
I wiah you luck with these your arguments but personally I hope this thread is locked by the mods because you guys can't seem to just agree on something at least once in your life simply because someone speaks a different language and was born in a different part of the country |

Let us start with water the medicine for pigs
Tell us where Onitsha gets water from? What is the source of water in these "high rise" buildings ? What is the sewage and waste disposal strategy of Onitsha You know very well most places in Nigeria don't have water due to the government and dirt doesn't discount the construction of tall buildings to accomodate many people in small expanses of land. Besides We don't need to cut down anything Having many trees in large cities greatly reduces pollution so cutting down trees to build more houses increases CO2 as well the way things are going all of the mangroves in Lagos will be gone in the next 20 years |

Others are glorified villages with pooooooor town planning, where you'll see some few very beautiful buildings and offices mixing with mud houses, even in the capital city. No you don’t , all you have is appointee Kings are born not chosen at a random Till date the oldest family in Africa is Oba of Benin family even the European attest to that
Oduduwa who the Yoruba claim is their Christopher Columbus who is he and where did he come from if you can answer me sincerely then I will accept that his grandchild Oba of Benin is also a Yoruba man A lot of artefacts were lost or destroyed during the yoruba civil war had it not occured there would be ten times more yoruba artefacts in European museums then Benin artefacts but even with a whole civil war and mass slave raiding we still had and still have a lot of artefacts available and many are still being discovered till this day. |

UCyril: in developed countries people don't park cars in the street. High rise building is ok but with adequate planning to give room for other amenities. Do you know in Onitsha even some hotels don't have parking space and i wonder who approved sure building in the first place. Yes they do park on streets in developed countries go to England any time of year in the residential areas even in business districts there are cars parked everywhere on the streets the streets are wide enough to allow two cars to drive on either side and more cars to park on that same street as well. Onitsha is very small and wer strained for space especially when it came to parking so of course there isn't much space for such but that doesn't mean that other cities cannot improve on where Onitsha failed. |

Onitsha is known for having high rises as far as the eye can see and this solution that they came up with is the solution to Nigeria's housing problem. 10 families can fit into a highrise building built on a plot large enough for just a singular bungalow. The ingenuity of the Igbo to build Onitsha in such a manner due to lack of land is impressive and should be emulated in other parts of Nigeia especially in Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt where housing is a massive problem.
Apart from it saving space and accomodating more people it also makes it easier to include more greenery in cities with less people needing more land to live in the more land can be used towards ecology and even more land for roads and more walkways for people.
Onitsha should be replicated tenfold across Nigeria by the government we could soon have the most highrises in the whole of Africa if we follow the planning done in Onitsha |

HowManGoDo: -PLEDGE TOTAL SUPPORT
-TO MOBILISE ANAMBRA DIASPORA FOR NOV. 6
A delegation of Eze Ndigbo in the northern part of Nigeria, has endorsed Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra state.
The delegation, led by HRM Igwe Ikechukwu Oliver Akpudo, the Eze Ndigbo na Kano, were in the Ogidi countryhome of Dr. Okonkwo on Thursday to pledge unalloyed support for his visions for the state.
Also on the delegation were the Eze Ndigbo na Karu, HRM Amb. Igwe Ochedo; the Eze Ndigbo na Azare, Bauchi state, HRM Sir Andrew Ekemezie and Onowu Eze Ndigbo na Nyanya, Onowu Edwin Agomuo.
They monarchs, who represented all Eze Ndigbo in the northen part of the country, told Dr. Okonkwo that they were encouraged by his vision and agenda for the development of Anambra to seek to partner with him and support his mandate.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Eze Ndigbi na Kano, said the story of Anambra state has become embarrassing adding that as Indigenes of the state, they were equally deeply interested in how affairs of the state was managed.
Noting that the APGA years have been a disservice to the state, the monarch prayed that no person like Willie Obiano ever comes near the seat of power in Anambra state.
They also stated that Anambra people cannot reward Obiano's leadership mishap by electing his handpicked candidate adding that Anambra must move in a new direction with Okonkwo.
According to Igwe Akpudo "we came down from our different places in the north -Kano, Bauchi, Nyanya and Karu- as representatives of the Igbo Diaspora to liaise with you on how best to empower you to lead our state into a new era of development.
"We have examined all the other candidates and none of them come close to you in terms of vision and programme. We believe that working together, we will be able to pull the Anambra Diaspora to work for your success on November 6.
"We will mobilise our people home and abroad to support you and make sure that our state moves in a different direction.
"We are tired of complaining about bad leadership in Anambra state. Now, we are getting involved to make sure that the right kind of person is elected to lead us", he said.
Welcoming the delegation to his palatial home, Dr. Okonkwo said he was in the race for the good of Anambra people.
According to him, the state of development of the state would not allow any genuine patriot to sleep comfortably.
"I am in this race for Anambra. It is not for what I will gain. If it were for it, I would have moved on. But we cannot relax while our state is mismanaged.
"The past years of APGA have been wasted years and we cannot reward Obiano by allowing him continue with this sort of mismanagement by imposing his surrogate on us.
"It was the same continuity that brought Obiano to us. He wants to continue that with his errand boy. We must not allow that to happen because if we do, our children will one day ask us what we did to rescue the state while it was being mismanaged by APGA", he said.
Okonkwo who promised to create a Diaspora Commission in line with his 10-Point Agenda to manage affairs of Ndi Anambra in the Dispora, said the life and welfare of every Anambra son and daughter, matters to him.
He urged Ndi Anambra in the Diaspora to remain steadfast and positive as November 6 approached expressing confidence that with their unalloyed support, the narrative in the state will become history. Which one is Eze Ndigbo again? 90% of Igbos don't have rulers so where is this Priest/King of Igbos coming from? |

Adaorababy: Come 2023, please nobody should vote either APC or PDP coz we know all of them prostitutes except suffer never do us. We're used to their gimmicks and tactics. We need a fresh party void of all the dull criminals who have contributed to where we are today as a very poor nation despite the abundant natural and human resources that exists in this country.
If we vote PDP, Buhari and his cohorts will all decamp to PDP and if we vote APC (although God forbids it), Wike, Okowa and Ortom will all decamp to APC so their sins can be forgiven. Enough of the frolicking.
Meanwhile, please Nigerians, let's vote with our common sense come 2023, we are not voting for any pastor, military person, lawyer, engineer, medical practitioner or a teacher. Who we need come 2023 is an economics expert. Someone with the pragmatic capacity and intellect to revive and reposition this already dead economy otherwise such a person will become overwhelmed and will give room to corruption. Let's begin this sensitization now. It's never too early or too late. The candidate must also agree to a presidential debate. We will not be whitewashed by any person parading himself in the behavior of Buhari again. Because, I believe if we had all insisted Buhari partook in a presidential debate, many people would've seen his flaws. We can not keep doing same thing and expect a different result. It's not possible, this is no miracle. See the way bright minds are running out of the country. We will soon be left with bandits and terrorists if this country is not quickly repositioned soonest.
I strongly believe if the economy becomes revived, and we are able to implement laws that will enhance ease of doing business, grow our GDP, so that Foreign Direct Investors can be encouraged to come in and invest, then everything else such as corruption, insecurity and others will automatically be tackled with the good policies in place. Many parties are already coming up to fill this gap but what we need is one party to absorb all of these different mushroom parties to properly challenge APC and PDP and that these parties won't accept APC and PDP members who are likely to turn them into the same degenerative rot we see in APC and PDP Currently the two parties i've shortlisted are MOP and KOWA MOP because they recently merged with a youth party of 2000 members and absorbed 50 old AAC members but not only that but i've been on their telegram channels and the conversations and the solutions they've been coming up with are superb and I genuinely believe they can move Nigeria forward, KOWA because they've fielded many technocrats in the past few elections namely Remi Sonaiya who was the only female candidate in the 2015 election so as far as i'm concerned they also have the technical capacity to do well in Nigeria when it comes to mergers i'm unsure of what KOWA is doing. Out of these two parties I believe MOP is most likely to do good for Nigeria. |
