IFE / Yoruba do not make bronze sculptures nor are they into bronze casting is purely Benin invention
How can you even spew these lies

Funny how Yoruba come up with stories just to be superior over Edo, if this image was Ooni look how come past Ooni did use this type of crown except Ooni ogunwusi why was there no continuity The this picture will tell that there is no continuity in pattern
So you took two pictures online and said that they don't have the same crown? Bring every single picture ever of the king and then we will see every single crown they were, and i'm not yoruba i'm igbo

Why are you acting like igbos didn’t influence the Benin kingdom as well. Why do you think some edos celebrate new yam, igu aro and even use the Igbo week days.

Why are you guys over hyping yourselves like do you know how diverse the empire was. Your monarchical title was gotten from the Yoruba, your week days from the Igbo, etc

In the same edo state where your influence starts and stops I can mention like five indigenious tribes

I come from delta state and I don’t know if any bini influence in my culture.
This is what i've been trying to say the Bini were highly influenced by the people around them their actual influence on other groups is almost unexistent.

mr1759:
IFE bronzes mysteriously appear in 1938, this appearance has help to prove that the Yorubas also had inventions and civilization in precolonial era. But surprisingly this bronze were from Benin city and was produced by Felix idubor father the year 1931, this art work was for some Yoruba dancers who came to Oba of Benin palace to participate in Oba Eweka 11 end of year event it is never past Ooni image,Also this art skill Felix idubor developed and excel with it,
The British used modern technology to carbon date these back to the 9th century so is Felix Idubor some immortal man or are you just a fool? Added to that the crown used is very clearly one worn by the ooni of ife till this day and those line patterns on the face of it are synonimous to artefacts found in Ife.

So between the said period where was your Shaki, Modakeke, Ilorin and Ibadan enclaves?

And all that while the Portuguese NEVER thought going looking for your "imaginary " super king in ile Ife..

Continue smoking ya weed
The portugese never ventured inland unless there was a clear river way to do it. When they were trading with the people of Ubani and Brass it took them over 200 years in the 1700s to actually be bothered to go upstream the River Niger and even when they did they never went inland past the Niger River soit's unsurprising that they didn't choose to venture through the thick forest of Yoruba land

And we know there was a king because of the artefacts dating back over 1000 years found in ile ife

Kudos to you for trying hard to want to make sense.

However, [make I no talk grin]

I would break things down a little bit for you, and you will understand. Amen! grin

(1) His first screenshot was from a book published in 1880.

(2) His second screenshot is from an article published in 1973.
———————
Having educated you on the dates, it doesn’t matter if it was written/published by Adam & Eve themselves.

Regarding His First Screenshot:
The crux is that, the content of the material shows a Bini man (Ourano) who said his oba is the sTrOnGeSt.

If this proves to be factual to you, then my own father is the strongest father in the world. Don’t you agree?cheesy

Regarding His Second Screenshot:
The crux here is that the author was referring to a Bini man (Egharevba) who gave that opinion. Hence the 70 which appears as a footnote label after the sentence.

If this proves to be factual to you, then my ancestors was responsible for hijacking the Northern Edo lands from the oba of Benin. Don’t you agree? grin

Breaking News:
Saying Benin once ruled some piece of land in Lagos, or that Benin once ruled some places in Ondo based on statements emanating from the Binis themselves is about the dumbest thing anyone could come up with as evidence.

Peace!
The Deji of Akure and poother indigenes of Ondo know through oral stories that the Bini once ruled over them and we know because of the British and also Ijebu oral stories that the Bini took other parts of Lagos I don't see what you're trying to deny although the source is by a bini man the point still stands the story he is talking about is dated back to the 15th-216th century at the peak of Bini power in Nigeria meanwhile your sources are dated to the 18th century when the decline in Bini power started so it's no surprise that the Nupe and Yoruba were able to take back large swathes of land from them

Leave Pan-Africanism and realistic. The same terrorists the NA has been trying to squash? Recently Pantami was ousted as a terrorist sympathiser and I won't be surprised if he is not the only person. Like I said, your society should be your priority, protect it
I know people inside the Nigerian army and they've said that the government is longing the project because they'r egetting billions of dollars in loans for aid and for a hmanitarian crisis so they see no reason to stop the war if we the people can unitw and rise up then we can end the corruption until then we will contine to suffer if it gets to where we have to split then I will join everybody in that split otherwise I will continue looking for how to develop as one country

It's your job to build a wall and keep them off from corrupting yours. A society that bans mannequin 'cause they're sexually attracted to it. Tụfịakwa!!! Ọbụrụ ọgwụ ọ maghị ere.
When did I say we would leave the terrorists? We squash the terrorists and educate the people concerning Hisbah a new constitution can be drafted banning it's control and influence on the people once the people are educated they won't be controlled fully by their religion

Let me put it to you in clear terms since despite all that is happening you are keen on Nigeria: You Are An Enemy And Will Be Treated As Such When The Time Comes.
I've stated it before, if i'm going to give up on Nigeria one more push towards unity and development must be undertaken if it still fails and the right leader is not brought into power then and only then can we agree that Nigeria will not work and the north will split from the south and from there we can decide what we want do.

About time you quit that messianic complex
It's still possible to educate the north and have them rise up against their leaders what do you think dan fodio did back then only the kings and traders were rich the people were poor dan fodio came told them to rise up and they got rid of their kings only problem was dan fodio used this to become king

Challenge the political elite of the north it is through challenging them that the people will hopefully awaken if they don't then we will have to do that as well, but it must be noted that there are northern civilians who are okay with their subjugation those lot are to be left alone

[quote author=SlayerForever post=105073337]Awka works was soughted around the whole southern extremeties of precolonial Nigeria, from Benin westwards to, I dare say, Cameroon in the East. How do you call that depending?

If I'm to digress a bit:
Mind you there were several routes around : Bonny river, Imo river, and numerous estuaries. How can you claim you controlled this area with all the estuaries? It's almost impossible.

Yet again, if you controlled trade along the Niger, where were the Ijaw and other subtribes who are nearer to the coast and lived along these many rivers?[/quote

The Niger River was still the main point of trade and was very close to Awka and it was the quickest way to get to European goods and European traders using 'depended' was wrong but it was one of their main trade routes and Aboh controlling it meant that a good sum of their goods and profits ran through or past Aboh

But then, how can one tell it's not from the Okoloma Ndoki (Bonny) area.
There aren't many of the old ones I only have one more when it comes to the new ones you can tell by the masquerades used and seen on the boats as well as the hats worn I can bring a video of the Aboh cultural festivals and you can see that water procession on large boats is a massive part of these celebrations

How do you think they got their goods to the British? and how they got British goods and weapons themselves? It was through the Aboh ( Eboe ) traders

I was talking of Ubani(Bonny), but anyways, do you have any modern pictures of this war canoes of Aboh?
They stopped making the massive boats as the importance of the city declined and as the amount of trade going in and out reduced there was no reason for them to maintain the consturction of large boats. So there are only smaller boats used at festivals and a few british pictures

Your first screenshot shows the opinion of a Bini man as related to a foreigner. And that is supposed to be a historical fact?? LMAO!

Your second screenshot which claims that Oyo lost a section of Eastern Yoruba frontier to Benin is actually a claim which goes back to a Benin source.

Check the footnote 70 and thank me later. Prof. R. C.C. Law knew exactly what he was doing. grin

It is all one-sided, self-serving claims of greatness by Binis themselves. cheesy

Know truth as shown in my attachment below.
Your source is dated to the creation of Ibadan his source is dated to at least 200 years before the creation of Ibadan and yes the Bini did rule over parts of Ondo State and eastern parts of Lagos that is an indisputable fact
CultureRe: What Are The Tribes Yoruba Defeated At War In History? by Abohboy: 6:08pm On Aug 22, 2021
Davidskills2021:
the yorubas are a warrior tribe. We won more wars than the igbos have ever tried winning, we were one of the best kingdoms pre-colonalism, we even influenced the benin empire. Like what are you guys on?
The igbos were better warriors with the Abam warriors being so skilled that they were hired to fight in the igala-jukun war. The Yoruba were also very strong through the oyo empire but without horses their army was essentially useless it was the Igbo that mastered battle on foot with spears and muskets in the forest. Both sides influenced the Benin empire although the yoruba influence is more soundly pronounced in the Bini religion.

All I know from history is yorubba are the only people on earth to ever been defeated by an army of all women...true story.
Those women also defeated the French in three consecutive battles and defeated the Asante who held off the British for 100+ years so what's your point
CultureRe: Most Delta Monarchs Absent At Olu Of Warri Coronation by Abohboy: 6:01pm On Aug 22, 2021
SHIBAQUEEN:
Ogiame Atuwatse III Tsola Emiko is now the 21th Olu of Warri, I sat and watched the event all the way from United States live on Channels Tv, thanks to the best tv station, I was aware of the communique sent by Chief Ayeri Emami calling on the isoko Urhobo and Ijaw Monarchs to boycott the coronation of the Reverend Olu, and we all saw it played out today, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his own part purposely slated his father’s burial same day with this glorious event just to also boycott the young king , the governor’s father died and was since buried February 2021and I’m fully aware that the Governor was aware of the seclusion of 90days the Ogiame was confined according to tradition which I’m sure he was also aware of the Olu’s coronation . Now all politicians and the village traditional rulers calling themselves first class king went for a burial carnival rather than gracing this wonderful celebration, I’m happy to let the whole world know that no stupid so called staff of office was presented to the Olu and the reason is that the Olu throne was never a creation of the Delta state kings and Chiefs Gazette as the Olu throne has been in existence in pre- colonial Era which made only the Olu of Warri and the Obi of Agbor in Delta state the only two First Class Monarch in the state. People might be wondering why this write up, I want everyone to know that every plans of Ayeri Emami on the new Monarch not to emerge was as a result of his threat by the emergence of the new Olu who is well educated , Rich and also young at heart who will challenge him on misappropriation of the Itsekiri resources. he succeeded in imposing the late King who spent only five years on throne and how he lavished money on the king to silent his conscience to challenge him (Ayeri) as to his management of the Ugborodo Funds running into billions every year, I’m very sure Ayeri’ communique to the kings was with Kolanut wedges with a robust package and I’m very happy that we shall all know the truth about him challenging the emergence of the Olu . I’m also from Delta state and also from a royal home from Isoko but without mincing words and with due apologies to the so called Monarchs of the state that went for a burial carnival of the governor that they are a disgrace to the throne they occupied because they succeeded in exhibition signs of jealousy and for the other few Mornarchs from Delta state that showed up,I salute your spirit of bravery. I pray for long life for the first class king with a class . Ogiame Aruwatshe III Long May you reign your majesty!!!!!
You say first class monarch but then left out the Obi of Aboh who at the kingdoms peak ruled over land stretching up to the confluence and down to the coast he has as much a stake a sa first class leader in delta state as anyone else

In any case well done to the new king and I wish him luck

It's obvious that won't hold for too long. Aside the mounting debt which is being borrowed to support our budget, the amount of terrorist being created by the north is getting to a stage were the south will have the option of breaking up to survive. You can be assimilating terrorists into the society in the name of "repentant" and expect to solve terror problem. I am confident we will break up out of necessity
That is unless new leadership comes up and squashes the terrorists or if there's a coup and they move on to squash the terrorists but as of now it is most likely that we will be seeing southern Nigeria and Northern Nigeria
