Religion / Re: Am now a born again, should I sent my three wives away? by Acehart: 8:48am On May 01, 2021
Princewell2012:
Hmm I think am more hooked in between. Righteousness2 said I should send the three of them away, that they are not my wife, and onother person suggested that I should keep the three of them since they are properly married. I think I need the Holy Spirit to help me out to get things right. mind you am not the person in particular someone brought it up to me to address.

The guy who said keep all three didn’t only answer you from the point of the God’s Law but answered you logically, and it made logical sense to you and you had peace after you read it; why listen to someone who answered you by shooting bullets without hitting the target and you declared him logical and right.

Do you know the meaning of “Go and sin no more”? It means everything you have done before the point of atonement is not accounted against you; only those done thereafter will. So, marrying three wives is not regarded as sin before the Lord but what you do (covenant breaking) against those women will be against you. Israel experienced three years of drought because of covenant breaking, and God stood on the side of those who were defrauded (I am taking about the case of the Gibeonites against Israel).

Any effort to forcefully send those women away will not the cause the will of God - righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, to be done. Just walk with God and He will make a way,

Have a nice weekend

1. Use the right trainers. This point can never be over emphasized. No matter how expensive a pair of trainers is, just buy it. I’m 100% sure that your injuries are due to your shoes. A good pair of running is essential too. You can get good second running socks in the market for close to 2000 naira.

2. Don’t start with jogging. Walking helps your body get into the rhythm. Try walking for close to two weeks, varying your distance, and see how it goes.

3. Start early: The strength of your mind is strongest when you wake up early. Try to jog before 5 a.m.

Religion / Re: Since Jesus Had No Seed, No Man Inherited His Righteousness by Acehart: 12:44am On Apr 25, 2021
jesusjnr2020:
What you say is faulty is in accordance with the teachings of Jesus, so you're hence saying the teachings of Jesus was faulty as well.

You've thus far failed to show me where Christians were said to be Jesus seed or where Jesus said they inherited His righteousness.

The saying of Jesus you quoted tallies with that which I quoted in the Op where it took the obedience of His Words for any man to partake of the benefit of His righteousness, because Jesus first told God that they had kept His Word before saying that, so that's what made them to abide in His love as He said.

Not that they inherited His righteousness, but they had kept His Word!

If you can't show me where Jesus said Christians inherited His righteousness or used that to judge them, you've proven you have no case but are walking in gross error which could lead you to hell as it has done to many and would do to many Christians who believe that lie.

I have carefully read your initial writeup on this thread and observed your responses; one thing stands out: You clearly avoided the Pauline epistles; it’s is either you are a young Christian and you haven’t gone through the entire scriptures (perhaps you have just started reading the New Testament) and you haven’t got proper understanding of it yet or you are part of the School of Thought that jettison the Pauline epistles, saying they are not inspired writings and shouldn’t find their way to the scriptures. If your case is the former, I’d like to help you have good understanding in the next paragraphs.

Psalms 35:24 says,

Judge me, O Lord my God, according to Your righteousness

To get the true meaning of this verse, we would have to test it against scripture, and also get what the context suggests. It may read as:

1. O Lord my God, judge between my character and that of my enemies according to Your equity and justice. (Lesser context based approach)
2. Justify me, O Lord my God, with your righteousness. (Etymological approach with a view of eschatology)

Lets look at the first point: David, the writer of this Psalm, was calling Jehovah to come into judgment between him and his enemies. If Jehovah vindicates David because he claims to have an impeccable character and that of his enemies vile, then the scriptures contradicts itself because Psalms 143:2 says:

And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

So if the Lord God is to judge David and his enemies based on character, none of them will be vindicated. Hence, point one is disqualified because of contradiction.

Before we examine the second point, let’s start by looking at Deuteronomy 9:5:

It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that you are going to possess their land, but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord your God is driving them out before you, in order to confirm the oath which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Here, the Lord God reiterates to Israel that their justification (to inherit the promised land) was not due to their adherence to His commandments but for His oath, a prerogative kindled by the faith of their fathers, a faith (authored and finished by God) that was accounted to them as righteousness.

If Judge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousness, reads as point two, then it means that the righteousness of the Lord God, by which he justifies his people (the Israel of God, Christians), is according to faith in what Christ has wrought out, and is imputed to them.

The substitutionary work of Christ on Calvary wherewith He was judged was according to the sins that were imputed to Him (though He was not a seed of any man) - Isaiah 53:4. We know that in the atoning substitution, the sin of the people was exchanged for righteousness of the God (Psa.132:9, Lev.14). Yes! those who were justified, the scriptures then calls them his descendants:

But the Lord was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

- Isaiah 53:10

P.S.: Please study the scriptures properly so that you would not be guilty of preaching another gospel and you be condemned.

I take that to mean that you do agree that Easter is a Pagan holiday considering it has not to do with that which Jesus Christ, the New Covenant, has given His followers. smiley

That said, we are, as individuals, free to celebrate and enjoy on even this Holiday, but not drag His name into it as if to suggest it is a part of His New Covenant, or of His Kingdom. undecided

Beautiful verse. I was thinking of Colossians 2:16-18- No one should play judge on how anyone observes a (holy)day. Thankfully, through Christ we don’t have to follow the roll of rituals associated with the sabbath days; and through Him, we can celebrate that the substance has emerged and the joy of His accomplishment.

I wonder why many JWs see the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus as non-christian. Is it that they choose to be ignorant of the purpose of the celebration or they do it out of just wanting to identify with cult-like belief of Charles Russell Taze?

Hi,

I don’t know if the JW have an apathy towards this Biblical Sabbath (Holiday), but I can say for certain that many (orthodox and non-orthodox) Christians in Nigeria have believed many commentators who say it’s a pagan traditional holiday.

I dare say that they are more dangerous cult-like following that exist today in the Nigerian Church that you should be worried about; I have heard someone say: “if Jesus says something and my pastor says something different, I’ll believe my pastor”.

These are more dangerous lairs than the ones you know. Let’s Christ be our message and slowly but surely, heresies will be done away with.

Is Easter a Pagan Holiday?

There is a growing number of Christians who think that the celebration of “Easter” is rooted in pagan traditions. One of the basic assumptions is that the name “Easter” is a Christian appropriation of “Ishtar,” a Babylonian fertility goddess. Even though the words may sound similar, they probably have no etymological connection. The English word “Easter” likely comes from the Proto-Germanic “austron,” which means “sunrise” – arguably a fitting name for a celebration that commemorates Jesus’ rising from the dead.

It is important to understand that outside of the English-speaking world, “Easter” is known by its proper name “Pascha.” This means that the majority of Christians in the world celebrate “Pascha” — an Aramaic synonym of the Hebrew Pesach, which means “Passover,” rather than “Easter.”

During this feast, traditional Christians celebrate the work of Christ’s redemption, believing that only in His resurrection is God’s forgiveness truly sealed. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, the judgment of God passes over believers just as the Angel of Death passed over the Israelite homes marked by the blood of the lamb during their captivity in Egypt.

However, an average, English-speaking Christian often fails to see the direct connection between “Easter/Pascha” and “Passover/Pesach.” Many of the rituals and customs appear to be different. Also, in order to ensure that no one connected (and therefore confused) the two, it was decided at the Council of Nicea (325 CE) that the feast of Easter/Pascha would be celebrated according to a different calendar: not on the 14th of Nisan as was originally decreed in the Torah of Moses.

Is Easter a Pagan holiday? Not quite. It is fundamentally a biblical holiday, albeit one that has been robbed of its true Jewish character and taken out of its original Israelite setting.

Bible says one of the ways to know a prophet from God is if his prophecies come to pass.

Let's stop fighting /attacking the messenger and receive the message.

Time will also prove his authtencity.
The wise will hear and note won, whether it looks feasible or note.

God bless you noble007

If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us worship them," you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer.
Deut. 13:1-3

The Bible doesn't in any place declare that one of the ways to know a prophet from God is if his prophecies come to pass. The Bible is very careful of the desire of men (with respect to knowing the future) and it states without equivocation that what proceeds from the mouth of the dreamer, diviner, or prophet thereafter (when the sign or dream comes to pass) is what verifies him or her as one from Jehovah.

Balaam was a prophet who prophesied in Jehovah's name but his disqualification was what followed after all prophecy was exhausted- he counseled his people to follow unrighteousness. The Book of Hebrews makes us know that all prophecy had a common destination- that all may come to the knowledge of Christ and turn away from unrighteousness; to this very day, God's modus operandi hasn't changed. Dreams and prophecy must result in the acceptance of the Blood of God.

If you look closely at the words of the dreamer of this thread, the OP, he has two places declared that his dream is from the Lord; however, he doesn't point anyone to the Cross of Calvary. The Cross of Calvary is our litmus test, and this man failed the test. I say this because of what he points to- himself.

Remember water gushed out of the Rock Moses struck, yet Moses was disqualified from entering into the promised because he didn't point to Christ (when he struck the Rock a second time; a Rock that was to be struck once and for all). Don't let the greatness of any sign or proclamation turn your mind towards events or things when Christ and the righteousness in Him are not revealed.

This dreamer hasn't brought anyone to the knowledge of the intimate relationship with Christ for the time span his dream has been on NL.

They were members of the Stingy Men’s Association grin. They forgot that the man who is gracious to a poor person lends to his Maker. Cruelty and an inhospitable spirit led to arrogance and abomination; no wonder Lot’s soul was vexed daily. This also was the problem of Israel- God desired mercy but they went about enacting laws that fleeced widows of their last mite. Prosperity is a fearful thing.

(When we observe the prosperity of ancient Rome and the evolution of pederastry, you can’t help but feel that the reason for the end of the Roman Empire, had its roots in the reason Sodom was destroyed).

The uproar against gays or lesbian is usually done by the uneducated in the scriptures. Many have become bedroom policemen and women. So as long as you have the uneducated in proper biblical truth, your fight will not end.

Simple English is a big problem in this part of the world.

The law is binding to a living person, when the person dies, the law is no more binding.

It even when further to say that that when a woman marries a man, she is bound by the marriage law of the nation, when he dies, she is free and she can do what she likes.

Where was it written that a woman is still married to a dead man body.

Guy think logically. Pls try to read with commentaries next time.

God counts us as being so closely identified with Christ that His physical death on the cross amounts to the death of our old, spiritual selves (Romans 6:6). Paul said repeatedly in the previous chapter that out death "with Christ" has freed us from slavery to sin (Romans 6:2, 18). Now he adds that our death with Christ was also a death "to the law."

[s]Since we died in this way, our former responsibility to the law is broken and we are free to belong to someone else. Specifically, Christians now belong to Christ, the one who has been raised from the dead.[/s]

Plagiarism checker: https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/7/Romans-7-4.html

The verse ends with a statement about the point of our new identity in Christ. Now we exist to bear fruit for God. This death to law and resurrection to Christ has created for us a new purpose. Our lives contribute to God's harvest of useful "fruit." The following verses speak more about this fruit.

Christian Rulings On Cross Dressing(transvestism) by thebosstrevor1:

Deuteronomy 22 vs 5

You think for yourself

How can a widow be married to a dead man, where is that written in the bible, there is no law like that.

A dead man is dead.

Pls dont confuse African tradition with Christian traditions

even african traditional religion, they say a dead man charm dies with him...lives continues

I thought you were very versed in the scriptures. The scripture says:

Or do you not know, brothers[a]—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage. Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ.

Unless you aren't in Christ, you can exalt the Law of Moses in your life. But in Mount Zion, Moses is dead, and Christ, in Christ, we are released from the Law of Moses. Didn't you quote from the Book of the Levis? Have you not read this concerning the man in whom all Christians are blessed:

This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi.

So from where does, your ruling have an effect on those who are dead to it? or rather, what effect does your abolished ruling have on those who are free from it as a widow to her dead husband? Like you said: "A dead man is dead". The Law you quoted is dead.

When you ever mention the word "Christian", from henceforth, never ever quote a law written on stones. For the Law Christians live by is in their heart.
Religion / Re: Christian Rulings On Cross Dressing(transvestism) by Acehart: 12:02pm On Jan 20, 2021
thebosstrevor1:

This is called Levirate marriage and there are cases like that in the bible, for instance, if the widow dead husband didnt have any children for the man, the man can help his brother bring in children to the world to continue his linage. also the law was also to safeguard properties( wealth) and put the properties within the family instead of a strange man coming to inherit the widow husband properties.

For example, in Dt 25.5–10, it says that If a married man died without a son, his brother was to marry the widow to provide a heir. this heir can also inherit the property of the dead husband.

To me it is logical, in some cultures especially among the rich, they practice these type of marriage to protect the wealth and to make sure the wealth circulate within the family.

As a Christian can you do it, marry your dead brother wife? you can marry her as long as she wants you also and the love is mutual, you can not force her into marriage with you because of her freewill

What of if property is involved? this is very tricky, it is very important to protect properties from strangers, if she goes outside to marry another man, the new man can manipulate her into making sure he inherit the properties, in cases like this, it is very important to set up a trust in which nobody will own the properties and for anyone to inherit the property, every party must agree on paper to give out the property. the reason it should be like this, is to guarantee the future of the family.

My question was: can the widow be married to the dead man, again? Is there any law enforcing the idea?
