arthurwillia:E go flop, like GUS. |
Lamanii22:Alright. I may be wrong but I do not think the guy was out to scam you. Why would he want to scam you of N20,000 after everything he did for you? What kind of scammer will stress himself for that sum in this generation and age? There are only two logical explanations to this; 1. The guy also got scammed by whoever was behind the freezer deal. 2. He wanted relationship and since you didn't give in, he decided to recoup his investment on you deceitfully. |
On behalf of all Nairaland alpha males, I say congrats to the SIMPle man ![]() |
...but she's not right about the marriage part. Am I missing something? ![]() |
Jobia:Meanwhile the average salary for that island no pass 150k |
Yahoo boys have messed up this country. The funny thing is majority of them can't maintain the lifestyle. They rent a big man apartment and in one or two years, they are back to the streets. Very soon, all the legit guys will leave the country for them and their greedy landlords. |
Facebook (Meta) is gone but the losses can be mitigated with WhatsApp and Instagram's earnings. Although Facebook is still the most used social media till date, the number of active users have significantly dropped. The new Gen Z and Gen Alpha have chosen Tiktok and there's nothing Mark can do about it. |
excellence44:I agree |
jasminer:So you think Tinubu will disturb his sons for money? Or is it Otedola that will look up to Cuppy for money? It is the same poor people who can't afford a public school education that expect a car, a house, and everything life has to offer. |

I don't believe that the same man that beat you up (for reasons you haven't stated) is the same person trying to live up to his responsibilities. Also, we don't know whether he's the one pushing to have you back. Perhaps, you're his bundle of trouble and he currently enjoys the system. Don't push too hard for a reconciliation/moving back to his house if he hasn't made any clear statement or actions to have you return to his home.. |
Richy4:I completely agree with your views. |
Richy4:Same way Nollywood created awareness about money ritual? |
Luvinghrt4:Your 8 year old son will be fine. His mates are in boarding schools doing very well without parents. My husband is addicted to betting and I've done everything to stop him, all to no avail. You cannot stop him. Stop wasting your time. |
If buying 1/3 of what you have on the list will eat up your savings, I will advise you to suspend that wedding completely. That list you have is the least of the things you're expected to do. I was hoping you'll mention cutting cost on reception budget, IV, food and drinks, etc. If the list is a problem, please hold on. It's never too late to be married. Lack of money shouldn't be the actual motivation to cut wedding expense. In my own case, it was choice, a deliberate one. No reception, no event centre, no hall, no church wedding, no band, no MC, no best man or bridal train. Just registry and trad in a living room, with less than 13 guests from my family. The list wasn't an issue although my in-laws were extremely considerate. That's how to impress no one but yourself. |
Two premature puppets |
Have you considered joining a church in your neighborhood? Not just any church but one that's filled with sound minds and people of your age group. It's a good way to socialize with decent people, make purpose-driven friends, and refocus your life. You can also equip yourself with quality resources online (e.g. YouTube) as you search for job opportunities. You have to be intentional about this. Psychologists, therapists, and the rest may be able help you but their services are not cheap. So search for government-funded hospitals/consultants around you and ask for an appointment. It's a good thing you've realized your mistakes. I rejoice with you. |
Your sister is one of the reasons scammers thrive in Nigeria. Please stop her from operating a bank account. She does not deserve one yet. |
The question is how many drink for medicinal reasons?? |
1Rolake:Your sister hasn't done 1/10th of the things this lady (I mentioned) did for her then husband, yet the man did not change. You all have to find a way to convince your parents to talk to him. If he fails to correct his behaviour after sometime (maybe a year or six month), then there would be no need keeping that marriage. Well-done, Rolake. |
Well, the hard truth is that your sister's husband may never change. Someone I know in a similar situation managed her husband for over 25 years. At the end of the day, she left the chronic drunkard and gambler after wasting 25 years of her life trying to clean up the pig he called husband. Don't allow your sister to ruin her life because of marriage. It is not too early to walk away. And please, you guys should stop getting married to people you barely know. Unless you both live together 24/7 under a roof, go out together, etc., one year is certainly NOT enough to know the key things about someone you want to marry. That people did it and it worked for them don't mean a thing. They simply took a stup!d risk/gamble. Don't gamble with your life. |
What's your relationship like with his friend? There are reasonable ways to go about this issue. |
UyaiIncomparabl:Very good |
I think humans are responsible for the actions and choices they make. Remember, people chose to settle in Africa. People chose to have s.ex. They have the option of protected sex; the option to abort. Nigeria is bad today because people chose to steal, kidnap, kill, and make life unbearable for others. Evil thrive in governments because human chose to settle for less. They chose docility when they ought to revolt and demand better governance. There is hardly any nation without resources to create wealth. Even those with unfavorable terrain and scarce resources turned things around. Dubai was turned from a desert backwater into one of the world's most awe-inspiring cities in less than 50 years. Israel's got one of the best agricultural system in the world despite the poor terrain. Who made all these happen? Humans did, humans that never asked to be born. Everyone's has got choice between good and evil; development or retrogression. The prince of Dubai chose development. Yahaya Bello chose corruption and looting. God did not create the 'Canada' or 'U.S' we have today. Humans did. If Nigerians take full possession of Canada today with the same "Nigerian" mindset of corruption, trust me, many will run back to Nigeria or Togo after a few years. After the creation of man, plants, animals, and everything else, what we were told was that God rested. Humans have since then taken over the re-creation process and everything we choose to do with what God had already created is absolutely in our control. As per the IQ thing, I don't believe anyone was created a dullard. Humans have probably just failed to understand their strength. Even the term "IQ" or "dullard" was coined by humans. For every difficult or impossible situation we have found ourselves today, humans have just not done enough to resolve them. Humans came up with HIV remedy. They did for Covid19. They can do same for every other ailments, including Cancer. No one chose to be born but so long as you're here, you've become a part of the re-creation process. The US we see today was recreated by the same humans that never wished to be born. They took responsibility for their existence. Some of us have just given up and not ready to pass through what others passed through centuries ago. |
I pity your wife. You're never going to change. I hope your family is not as wicked and self-centred as you o, else, she might end up in the streets, begging for a living. |
Get him to disclose his health or spiritual issues with you. Do your personal research/investigations and take bold steps. For your own good, don't discard what those pastors told you so long as you do not suspect any foul play. Do not let the number of likes from certain "woke" posts f00l you. When wahala starts, you and only you will bear the consequences of your actions. There are many authentic and accurate visions out there. Even from a personal experience, I have seen dreams accurately come to pass. As far as marriage is concerned, no amount of inquiry, investigation, prayer, etc. is too much. So many troubles are avoidable in this life. Avoid as many as you possibly can. |
Have you informed the police? The boy and everyone else, from friends to relatives, parents, etc. need to be interrogated. |
Magnoliaa:My dear we haven't o. Good to see you and Happy New Year! I'm doing great, by the way. What about you? |

Actually, I was born before Nollywood started.... But before then, my dad used to drum it into our ears( myself and my siblings) way back that whenever we find ourselves anywhere and we happens to see money, we should not pick it up or we will turn to a yam or tortoise...those that were born before Nollywood era can attest to it...
... Nollywood should probably put in a movie about that to create an awareness..
LMAO!
