Your brother has mingled with the wrong people. I don't think there's any short-term intervention right now. All you can do is advise him, sit back and hope that he outgrows that habit. It is easier to score 370 in JAMB than raise a morally upright child these days. With access to online information, kids don't have to mingle with the street guys to become wayward. Cultists now have telegram groups, there are many sections dedicated for gambling on Nairaland, even babalawo now have Facebook page. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Share Your Experiences Living Close To A Church by Acidosis(m): 3:17pm On Feb 21, 2022 |
Amotolongbo: This makes me remember the house I was born and lived in for 14years. Just in front of the house, there was a mosque with their PAS facing our apartment with their “aluwala” early morning by 5:00am. The mosque has a church just beside it Beside our house and apartment was a CAC church with numerous midweek programs, crusade and vigil running on loud sound system. The Church also has another church (Anglican) beside it (at the other side of the church)
These 3 churches and mosque intentionally made sure they competed for the loudest noise maker. When one complains to the pastors, they see one as being used by the devil, whereas the reverse is the case.
We got there before these churches and mosque began. Thank God we left there. But you never complained to the Alfa. Typical of you "Christians". And Seun wouldn't even give you the privilege to complain on Nairaland because you have to swear an oath and prove your allegiance to Allah to create a thread. Don't you think there's a problem somewhere? Those on suit and tie always seem more approachable (easy targets) than those on jalamia and 14-inch long beards, isn't? |

POSmecrhant: I have a self contained Flat that's giving me 165k every year. But I want to sell the place to invest in business that will give me 120k to 150k every month, because I'm married now, responsiblites will spring up. and dont want to depend fully on 180k salary.
Could this be good or bad idea? Do not allow some risk averse persons advise you. Nothing is unsellable to radical investors. Investors all over the world sell multimillion dollar businesses and investments. Google bought android for billions of dollars. Pfizer bought Warner-Lambert for $90 billion. Here in Nigeria, Japanese firm, Ohara Pharmaceuticals bought a 21.75% stake in Fidson Health Care with N700 million. Otedola sold Forte oil for millions of dollars, a company he invested his life and energy. How much is your house that you can't sell to make better earnings? Las las N10m?? Go ahead and sell it as long as you have a solid plan in place to double or triple the worth. If you follow the advice around here from scare mongers, you will just die a common man. But make sure you have a solid plan to avoid regrets. Personally, I can sell my house to invest in mutual funds (if the mutual funds show better potentials). Na poor man mentality dey preserve "inheritance" wey no worth shi-shi. Same way our grandmamas preserved worthless wrappers and pots. Money they should have used to buy shares in Google and Apple so their grand kids can cash out big today, but financial illiteracy na bas.tard. |

olukaygold: For clarity sake, cos of building a house is skyrocking everyday,If you sell that house today, you go need double or more amounts to build another one tomorrow. House is an investment that doesn't depreciate,im giving advice based on my experience cos I was once about to sell my house at a ridiculous price around 2020 when things were not moving well for me but I didn't later get a buyer,I later finished the house last year and rent it out around 400k last year, this year now, that apartment alone is 600k. So pls don't sell your property to start a business,You go regret am later.look for business money else where...this business you're about to ventured into now,you don't know how the future go be,it never get stability. No start wetin go give you sleepless night and depression ooo How and why did you increase rent from 400 to 600k within a year? Don't allow greed set in. Today's inflation rate does not affect the cost of blocks you bought 10 years ago. |

eniolorunfe: @op You need to set clear boundaries, otherwise people will use you (or continue to use you). The same way they sent their younger one(s) to you, you also need to send her back with a clear message letting the older siblings know that they are now responsible for their younger one(s). It’s time for them to also partake of the “blessings” too by helping their siblings. Honestly, this is the right way to follow. The best thing he can do at this stage is to teach the older ones the act of responsibility. OP should be in his early 40s or late 30s, probably single without a family. It's time to plan his life. |

Work for your money and learn to be independent. I'm currently using iPhone XS max, and NO MAN gave me a dime. I bought it all by myself.
Ladies wake up, we can do better. Whether the man loves or not, don't make it a priority or his responsibility to buy you a phone. You're relegating and degrading yourself.
EXCEPT he's gifting you a phone willingly, from the depth of his heart.
[s]Point of correction: Some Android phones are lovely and worth using. Android Phones like Samsung and Huawei. [/s] Fixed. Leave phone matters for tech people. |

My candid piece of advice...if you like your family and loved ones, don't mistakenly take them to LASUTH. There's a lot of politics playing out there. Rather proceed to LUTH. Na Tinubu people full LASUTH, including his diagnostic centre which he hijacked from the hospital and named BT ( Bola Tinubu) Diagnostics. I wish humans could live forever. Smh! What has politics got to do with paying your bills? |

A night is N150k (Aside medication) and when he couldn't meet up again with the bills, they excused him and removed the life support machine and she died. They seized the corpse till now for the remaining uncleared bills. So what do you think the hospital should have done? |

And if your husband answered him well, that could have made the doctor see your husband as an expert and that will bring more referrals The questions should come before or after the procedure. Do you ask your doctor questions during a surgical process? |
