rooftops:Oh right |
The combination is just somehow. You can consider English literature, Agric Education, Islamic studies, |
BigDawsNet:Those that love converting dollars to Naira won't come here now to convert $35 to Naira. Tell them your earnings in dollars, they'll quickly convert to Naira. Tell them your expenses in $$$, they'll run.Almost N15k on top barber |
ICEWIN:I understand your views about stakeholder or shareholder interest. But there's no organisation without a leader/founder. The vision of the leader mostly (always) provide direction for the entire organisation. Leadership is even a course a discipline in the tertiary institutions and when you attend these programmes, you get to write case study reports about the visions and leadership styles of renowned leaders like Elon Musk (Tesla), Steve Jobs (Apple), Jack Ma (Ali Baba), Jeff Bezos (Amazon) even though some of them have retired. There's a saying that when the founder of a successful company resigns, a company is more likely to wear off. Those who bought Twitter shares have been on a losing spree for a while now. When Jack Dorsey (the founder) announced his resignation, it got worse. Some investors pulled out due to sentiments. With a good CEO, Dangote Group will continue to exist without Alhaji Dangote but his vision will not cease to drive the company. |
OfficialAwol:It's not compulsory to live in Lagos. Go back to your village and erect your shanties. |
Kobojunkie:Eph. 5:33. Note that I won't be responding to further arguments from you as far as the bible is concerned. |
Honour (respect) is what the Bible explicitly called for. So if your own way of showing respect to your spouse is by calling him/her "My Lord", "Daddy wa", "Sir", "Ma" "King" "Queen", Etc. kindly go ahead. Tradition and upbringing have the major influence on our perception of respect/honour. |
ICEWIN:Someone came up with that idea of Dangote oil and gas before making the offer public. He owns the vision, buying into that vision doesn't make you a visioner. Elon Musk did not need any shareholder's advise before Tesla. |
You met on Facebook? Are you implying that you got scammed by a fake Facebook page? I think that's where your trouble started, your inability to detect a fake Facebook page. You should have requested a video call at some points. That way you can match his image with whatever he has on Facebook. If his page is real, then that makes your job easier. Download his photos and details, and send him a message about your intention to call him out on Twitter, Nairaland, etc. |
ICEWIN:Dangote as an individual is an industrialist and the founder of the group. His vision drives the company. |
Caseless:Same here but do we actually deserve that man, given the level of criticism and insults he gets daily for investing his money in Africa rather than buying up estates in Dubai and the U.S. like his mates do? Dangote is certainly one of the world's biggest industrialists. I would even love to see him launch a University of industrial education. In the age where everyone believes that money cannot be made outside of Tech, his consistency year after year has validated the need for more of his kind. People like Dangote understood the fact that we can't match global forces when it comes to, for example, space exploration and high-tech. Why run to space to compete with people who have been there for decades when we can simply leverage our resources (oil, limestone, agriculture) and achieve a good comparative advantage? That's the Dangote mindset and I wish he would explore other abandoned sectors like steel |
How come no one is talking (as usual) about how Dangote is about to "monopolize" the oil sector in Ghana or Africa? |
I think that your mom's incessant calls about giving her a grandchild shouldn't be a motivation to get married. Anyway, since you have also come to the realization that you need to settle down, then I think you should begin to take bolder steps in that regard. There's no justification for you to maintain a zero social life. First, as a teacher, you probably have more time to yourself. Second, the world has moved on from the era where a man needs to physically meet a woman to strike up interesting conversations I think your colleagues' cranky and unsolicited prayers are a way of telling you that you'll meet someone that will accept your pay cheque. While age, like your mom's incessant calls, shouldn't be a determining factor for when to marry, the reality is, no matter what your plan is to get a better job or establish a steady income source, you cannot predict the unknowable in life. Job can be terminated, businesses can wear off, but the good part is that; marriage with the RIGHT person is meant to handle these changes - realities of life. This is why it is necessary to consider your marriage (if you actually want to get married) as the more important part of your life plan. Marriage isn't necessarily what to think about when you have achieved everything in life, it is rather a medium to help you in achieving part or most of your life goals. Ideally, your marriage is supposed to help you to manage the challenges you will come across in life (save your a** from depression, help you recover fast if you lose a job or business or when you become sick, help you socialize better with a partner, meet your sexual needs, etc.). People don't realize this, so they focus too often on how to save the entity called "marriage" by advising people to "hustle oooo" as if the entity marriage is calling them and the rest of the world for help. So you have to see marriage as a priority, something that deserves your commitment. You will always figure out a way to support what you are most committed to. When you're committed to the goal of marriage, the question of how to meet the right person for you - someone who understands where you are and where you're headed - would no longer be an issue. |
@Chosen44 Alright. I was going to recommend getting a better job as the first move (to fund your business) but I realize your location might be a challenge. Is there a way you can get your husband to support your business? Furthering your education shouldn't be the utmost priority now unless you're sure that your qualification currently limits your chances of getting a better job in Edo. |
It's okay to buy a laptop but a deeper look at your write-up tells me that you don't have all the information about the recharge card printing business. Besides when did you receive the training? You cannot start that business with the same training you got years back. Trend of sales have changed, so you need to identify potential new customers (definitely not the same customers you used to know in e.g. 2015) just the same way you discovered you needed an online means for vtu - an information you probably should have gotten from the training before delving into the business. Where are you based, by the way? |
When a blacklisted number calls, you actually get the notification so there's no way your wife can play ignorant on this. You should have checked to confirm. However, this sort of issue could be resolved without necessarily coming online. |
Mayyvin:If I may ask, what's the purpose of creating this thread again? |
Since you have an established relationship with him, I think you should go ahead and talk to him but ensure you also have a word with the father (I'm assuming you guys have some kind of relationship). |
It's obvious you don't need the job. As much as you love to manage your time, leaving without a prior notice was not good enough. Maybe his time management issue was the reason you were invited for the interview. By taking up new roles, he may be able to manage his time. There's no perfect answer to your question though especially when we consider our environment. Nigeria is not the Netherlands (where employees walk out of their bosses as soon as it's 4 or 5PM). Life over there is different, you can even go to work with your pet. You may love the lifestyle in those countries but hey, even HR recognizes cultural differences. You can't take the mindset and approach to work in China to Nigeria or the Netherlands. While the Chinese guy can strike a multimillion dollar deal in a beer parlour, a Nigerian guy would prefer to rent the largest hall in Eko hotel. These are culture issues. In so far as you're willing to work with a Nigerian boss, you should be willing to deal with certain issues, especially those that are not expressly addressed by any employment or contract laws. Moreover, that man is a sole proprietor, probably managing a family business. In all organizational management studies, family business' issues are well documented. They often face this sort of issues (time management, performance measurement, etc.) whether they're based in Nigeria or not. |
Buhari scammed his change agents sha. How can you fail on your most prioritized promise? If Buhari could fail on the corruption fight, then he's truly worthless. ![]() We kukuma didn't expect anything on economic prosperity but security and anti-corruption fights are the least he could have done. |
But how do people fall for this cheap scam? How do you qualify for a programme you never applied for? Survival fund ended about a year ago and funds were only disbursed to people who applied with their registered business. If you do not own a registered (CAC & SEDAN) business and you were not part of those that applied online during the pandemic, then what's your business with survival fund? |
Olayetan:Which bank shares? He would struggle to earn 10k at the end of 2 years. |
Open a VFD bank fixed deposit account. Current rate is 17% per annum. At the end of one year, a guaranteed return of 1 million is sure on a 6 million investment after deductions (tax, etc.). Fixed deposit with a reputable financial institution is the safest thing you can do with that money that will produce valuable returns. There are NO other way unless you're comfortable with insignificant paltry returns from worthless shares, high risk investments like crypto, or busineses that are prone to failure. |
Magnoliaa: ![]() Where have you been? |
The man is truly wicked. That cultist of a boy deserves nothing. |
dominique:We will be importing cement for N3000 but exchange rate will not be less than N800 per dollar. |
