MizMyColi:Even i can type this and use APC logo as watermark. If i do that with PDP logo does that make it official or authentic. Rubbish! |
MPVGoddess:Thats why i explained that i have to get a higher deal on his engine or i keep most of it and probably all. Its his chioice and i will give him all the necessary advice especially on those expensive part i listed. Also i want help to identtify other expensive parts of the engine that i may consider for keeps especially those that are prone to failure. |
Its not too long since i let my friend keep and maintain his car so he can learn. He has pleaded with me to come supervise his engine replacement job planned for Monday. Before now, quite a number of works was done on the the current engine. These include, timing chain and tensioner replaced, oil pump balancer shafts and bearing replacement. VTC actuator was worked on as the sound came back audible at every start. During the oil pump work, some connecting rod bearings were worked on and the engine bearing sound is now very audible. Also, the car suffered a major rear crash by a drunken driver which rear, bumper, left rear light, left tire was lost. 2 weeks ago he hit a tree trunk used to slow vehicIes on the highway late at night. He lost again a front right tire, shock absorber, upper arm. I wasnt part of all these works. The top cylinder sound and the crankshaft sound are the major issues which have resurfaced after they were both tempered with for reasons i dont know. The toks engine is sourced from Jabi motor parts market at 150. His engine will be traded in for 20k which i did not agree since i can easily count 1 part that i hear is worth 20k. The throttle body, alternator, A/C compressor, power stearing pump, coils, starter motor are easily worth more than 80k individually so 50k should'nt be a bad deal. The option is to take them away and they can go with the rest for 20k. The crank shaft in there was bought from same guy at 25k and if he cant buy the engine at 20k without the accessories, then i know what he intends. I want to make a 50k bargain on it complete or i take and keep the listed parts while the carcass is sold 15-20k. I shall update where necessary. |
arabianights:I know a Pakistani, born and bred in Kano, schooled in UI and lived in Lag. He speaks English, Pakistani, Hausa, Yoruba and Pidgin English very well and a little of Igbo and French. You dont wanna mess with that guy. |
nurey:Ah aw! If you knew, a new engine in lag would hv been cheaper. Too bad that you have to experrience this. Consider your options well as Kano is a stone throw. |
Samandgrace:The CCT adjourned because the date of ruling was set and was close. Now, the appeal has not even been heard by the supreme court. If you think every appeal should stall the CCT, then the case may last till 2030 when probably Saraki and his team would have exhausted all forms of appeal and retired from active politics. Nigerians have always complained that the judiciary is slow, now they try to move faster people like you say, "why the hurry". |
cornoil:Time is of essence since the tribunal had 90 days to give their ruling. If they waited till when the supreme court did, they would never meet with dead line. Besides, am sure you have by now read the criminal justice act which allows for the sitting but for execution of the judgement. |
cornoil: chukwudi44:When the Rivers state elections tribunal moved to Abj, Wike went to appeal court and subsequently to the supreme court. Did the tribunal stop their proceedings? |
GAZZUZZ:You are absolutely right, there are drivers who know these roads like the back of their palms. All i do is keep a very safe distance and where they slow down i have to. The only thing is that its hard to keep up especially with a less powerful car. Although, never ever follow a Luxurious bus. Their shocks is something else and they can lead one to a death trap. Their axle is wider too, so they can put a deadly pot hole under them and a small car will never come out safe. |
It is pointless paying DsTV every month. I need to declare war on them just like my friend did for over a year now. |
Phelicx:Na today? History is just being recycled. I slept when i was in their position back in 2008. Thats the only time corpers really have to rest. |
safarigirl:You have some really nice songs there. One song i love is Drake - Hotline bling. |
ebukaddon:My recent CD has a better playlist. I have been rocking it on replay for 3 days now. I even burnt 2 more copies for my friends. They appreciated it.

soloehis:There is one other document i got for my change of ownership. You need a signed sales agreement with witnesses to get this.

adeitoro: pazienza:I am from kaduna and a Civil engineer. I will tell you what i know for sure. This is not a genuine erosion definately not a natural erosion. What i see in the picture is just a very very badly constructed road project. The culvert is grossly inadequate for the amount of run off water the catchment area collects to that spot. The designer of the road made serious mistakes in his run off water calculations or knew what was required but didnt do it to make himself more money from the project. The red soil you see under the road is borrowed laterite material which also looks to be badly compacted. Looking closely, you will see the natural occuring soil of this area which looks whitish below the red soil. Thats evidence that the red soil was brought there but job wasnt perfectly done. With the inadequate culvert, water over flows the culvert running over the road and washing up any loosely compacted material it finds. I have seen even more than this in Nassarawa state where water even took away the entire culvert cutting off the entire road section. This is one of the ways our goverment waste money. |
Living4christ:If its your prophecy that the pregnancy will defy their efforts to terminate it and the child eventually born, you shouldnt stop there. This child could be those that will will be abandoned in the road side and later become the arm robber that by fate may take your life. Go on an add more to your prophecy so he will live a Christ like life or else you need not make a comment. I guess you just want the baby born even if there is no plan for it to have a good life. I guess thats the popular view in Nigeria thats why poverty is increasing and we blame the government. No wonder some countries made it law to restrict birth. That will never happen in Nigeria even it the government means well. |
obongtunji:Daddy's gurl. She got your nose like she recieved a nose transplant from you. |

politician:Looks like your car is immobilized by the system. It means your key and fob has lost communication or coding to transciever or immobilizer unit. I just wonder how you changed the transponder. The transponder is coded and a new one will definately not work until you reprogram. Reprogramming the fob is easy and can be done by DIY but for the key, its not so easy. Find a key programmer. If you allow that rewire, he will rewire your car and it will never be the same. The immibilizer usually shuts down power to critical engine parts like coil pack, injectors and fuel pump. Since these parts are controlled by the ECU the ECU is directly reaponsible for their shutdown but under the instructions of the Immobilizer unit. What rewires do in this case is to power those parts directly from the battery except the coil packs which in your cased it might be a distributor coil which makes their job easier. |
ibrodex:I love that inverter even though i have never used it. It seems well built as per quality and data sheet. I am particularly thrilled with the inbuilt AVR, power factor, wall mount ability, display etc. The downside is that since a switch between UPS or Inverter mode isnt mention coupled with the fact that the data sheet only mentioned 150-280v operating range, i am scared. In my area, we do have low voltage supply on grid so it will be bad if the above is only applicable. Right now my inverter with inverter mode range of 90-280v is struggling to charge since saturday night when our supply voltage dropped below 90v. Power factor is 9.5-1 avcording to the datat sheet so 0.9 can be assumed very save. It means you can power your inverter to 1.35kilowatts. I wouldnt go beyond 1000watts. Besides, i will lose hours of backup with more load. If ever you need to run fridge, start generator. With 75A charger, thats very suitable for very fast charging of 2 batteries. 75A can even do 3 batteries well. |
I think Augustbreak should be given a break. He or she has no idea about the solar system before asking someone with no proven intergrity to supply and install a solar backup system. Chris, i think you are too hard on him/her who admitted to not knowing. Augustbreak, i think you've been duped! Its really complicated but i will try to point loop holes in your system. 1. Your system backs up for 30mins only on the load you listed, that means you battery is dead on arrival! OR 2. The inverter charger is either faulty or inadequate. 3. It is wrong to install 2 batteries of different capacities and probably different brand or type to the same system especially in series which am almost sure its ur case with a 2.4kva certainly 24v. 4. Solar panels can charge batteries but may fry it with high current or voltage or over charging. Charge controller prevents overcharging, controls the charging current and voltage so as to protect the battery from damage. A 12v solar panel produces 17-21v to charge a 12v battery which requires 13.6v to charge. Directly means the battery is geting high voltage. Charge controller has a DC voltage regulator to givethe battery only what it needs. In same vein, a solar panel may produce as much current as required to charge but when charge is full that high current will damage the battery when the controller would have lowered the current or stopped charging entirely. Your, battery may have been fried already depending on the capacity of the solar panels. We have little details on your system but not minding the details, your installer is far from being honest. I dont know how much you paid for the system and the state of your batteries since they are most expensive of the lot with the highest dependance. My guess is the batteries are not new. You can only get a better installer if you are sure the batteries are good but if not, just get your money back or dump the system till you can afford new matching batteries and charge controller. 30mins backup is too poor for at least 6hrs of charge. |
I worked with with the developer for few months in 2012. Looks good after this while. |
ZKOSOSO:Display of hatred for APC! Jang is PDP and the late Pwajok is PDP too. APC defeated both of them so wonder what your problem is? |
Marpol:I just checked, these are owners manual. I guess seunoj requires a service manual which i said i have but cant upload for him since its quite much. Its 7372 pages and 390mb. |
For me, after taking an abortion drug, there is no going back. If you decide to keep the preggy, the risk is that the drug may have caused irrepairable damage. If i would encourage my babe to abort, its never going to be by drugs but my competent hands i can find. |
seunoj:I have the 03-07 honda accord service manual but its just too heavy to upload and i cant recall the site i got it from. Its almost 400mb pdf file. I suggest you google it. |
sultaan:Am just wondering why the comparison. Its not ok to campare standard of car maintenance to ours when you cannot equally compare our standard of living. If Nigerians could afford standard of living obtainable in America, Uk etc we will certainly afford brand new oem spare parts. At that point we will even make our own cars and parts and dont need to import spart parts at added cost. Infact, manufacturers will come into Nigeria competing to sell and service their cars. At our condition, its not affordable. One thing you fail to understand is that spare parts as obtainable abroad go for a specific cost, but nigerians will pay extra to even double to get the same part in developed countries. Why wont we resort to another source in this case the junk yard. A 2007 toyota camry owner in the US can afford to buy a part of say $100, in Nigeria the part becomes $150-200 due to shipping and customs charges. Not forgeting the exchange rate which makes it unwise as in relation to the worth of the car. |
Strongedition:Luminous i know, illuminous, never heard of. |
Piyke:You may be aware that i have always complained about engine oil level drop with no spot on the ground where i park. No serious leakage has been noticed before now, though the leakage doesnt get to the ground. I have notice my oil level drops quicker now and have seen fresh stains of oil on my right drive shaft and the engine mount beam close to the shaft. I have also seen my oil filter wet which is in same area as the visible leakage even as the whole area is wet with oil. I have investigated the oil filter for leakage but havent seen any until i saw this thread. I can confirm now that my major leakage comes from around the VTEC oil pressure switch and solenoid area. This is found directly above the oil filter and the shaft which i have seen fresh oil leaks. I will be doing more investigations tomorrow but will like to ask, what in your case was the problem, was it leakage? If it was leakage, did you conclude the o-ring as shown in the pic on the link was to blame? I may not be able to source these parts in my current location but if the o-ring is the culprit, then i believe some silicone gum will reduce the leakage till i find a permanent solution. Silicone gum was able to stop leakages on my PS pump o-rings locations and also a leakage i had on the VTC filter screen. I have noticed that more and more oil gaskets and o-rings are giving up in my car of recent. |
