taiwolusol: *Calming my nerves* You need to understand something. The mentality that all Federal University Students are better than their State and Private counterparts is Just Wrong.
For crying out loud, a 2.86CGPA student from your So called Mago Mago universities passed an Oil coy's Siwes Entry test where as best Student from OAU didn't...........
why do you have to be so proud?
That is just one case, it happens. Talk about a general case.

Look at it this way: until recent years, university education is by federal but now we have state and private unis. Federal unis are more in number than state and private universities and admit up to (if not more) 60% of nigerian undergraduates. Also, the best students in waec, neco, nabteb and Jamb are applicants of fed unis and majority gain admissions. The rest goes to state universities. Private unis are chosen by students as 1st choice by those who are rich. The others who go to private unis either didnt get admissions to their prefered fed or state unis or were withdrawn or didnt get admission to their prefered course of study.

Lets face the truth, the best and highest number of professors and training equipments are in the federal unis. The best students are there too. But the poorer results come from the same federal unis, thats what the op is talking about.

Fed unis are better because they have more qualified lecturers, more equipment, better library and more facilities while private unis only have fewer but dedicate lecturers, better learning environment and a better teacher/learner ratio plus more recent equipments if they have at all. These all come in with a price that 90% of Nigerians cant afford.

If you ask me, Fed unis admit 55% of students, state unis 35% and private 10%. Where else will the best minds be? Thats without considering other factors.

She should now focus on her health now she is pregnant. as you are counting your blessings make sure her health is paramount. Check up, medication should be taken when due.

The thread is an old one. The boy skipped walking and started running. Till today he prefers to run, he runs helter skelter all the time. He is a runner.

Now, talking that is the issue, though in know he knows alot but does his things his own way. He calls me daddy but calls his mum and my mum aunty while he calls my dad papa. There are quite some names he is obsessed with. Most times he pretends like he does not know his name, occassionally he answers to his name. I was told girls talk earlier in life than boys, i was concerned when i discovered that girls his age talk but later found out that most boys his age dont.

While GEJ supporters and his army chiefs may choose to deny the story, i am 100% sure that it happened.

Whatever smoke that has been rising in this regime has fire underneath it and they keep denying. A soldier confirmed the story and actually placed a call on speaker to confirm from some of his boys that he got information that were involved. The two he called confirmed that they have deserted but have decided to return. Although this article claims 480, my informer said only just above 80 soldiers deserted.

Nigerian soldiers are begining to lose morale because of the realisation that the Boko haram is an obvious conspiracy. Nigerian army is one or the best in Africa but cannot handle Boko haram, thats an irony. While the less capable Cameroonian army has seriously dealth with Boko haram on their own side, Nigerian army cant for no obvious reason other than the fact that Boko is better armed and somehow manage to get funds and intelligence from no obvious where.

Sagamite: You are a cretinous person!

The first problem was that you could not comprehend my argument in the first place, challenging me on what is the point I was drumming into your dumb head. I finally hammered your dumb head to take my point in.

Now secondly, person, you moronically accused me of not criticising hamas like if I have not explained why I focus on the Isreal. The hammer is hear to knock that into your moronic brain too.

Thirdly, person, the highlighted is coming from a person who condemns Hamas but tries to justify what Israel is doing?

You are a cretinous person!
What did you have to hammer into my head, 'Isreal is a terrorist state' or 'Hamas is a terrorist group'. All you tried to hammer into my head and everyother person that has been reading this thread is that Israel is a terrorist state. Just because you did mention and agreed that Hamas is a terrorist group, you want me to believe you are not biased? The day you drop the Israeli focus is the day i will reason with you. I only reason with the unbiased, nonpartisan, impartial, just, fair and unprejudiced people of our society, not of your like. Thats why you may find me difficult to convince of your crooked argument.

For you to refer to Israel as a terrorist state and put that legitimate state in the same group with the likes of al Qaeda, al Shabaab, Hezbollah, Hamas, Boko Haram shows your hate and deep rooted contempt for the state of Israel. That shows the height of biasedness in you.

Only dumb fckards like you claim others cannot comprehend then turn out to find comprehension a herculean task.

You focused on Israel, YOU ARE SIMPLY BIASED. Can your thick skull comprehend that or do i have to send my grandma with some basic comprehension skills.

Come, are you 2? Cos my little son who is learning new words has picked up the exclamation, 'Jesus!!!', and wont let anyone rest with his new word. He sneeze, 'Jejudge', he stumbles 'Jejudge', his cup falls 'Jejudge', he farts 'Jejudge', he says 'Jejudge' first thing when he wakes up. You sound like my 2yr old son but with an attitude, 'cretinous fckard'. Am sure you sing cretinous fckard in the shower and while you sleep!

The only thing i cannot comprehend is that i actually thought you were a grown man, on a second thought a 2yr old, gosh you may just be in a mental institute (like yaba left). I really cant tell, help me comprehend that!

Indiscriminate?

Fckard are you for real? Violence only begets violence.

If you kill my son, if i have the will, i will kill your entire family together with you. No one will dare say i killed your family 'indiscrimately'. You just bit more than you could chew, 'dats all'.

My comprehension is perfect or even better than yours. I just thread very carefuly in accepting anything i read with regards to the Isreali-Palestinian conflict as so many authors have some iorta of baisness.

I said before and i will say again, both sides have legitimate demands and reasons for the conflict. You cannot treat one and leave the other. So i stay away from even discussing solutions with regards to the lands issue which is the root of the conflict. My only concern is that of loss of lives. Palestinians being weaker of the two and on the offensive are responsible for every death either on their side or on the defensive Isreali side. Isreal being the stronger have been on the defensive and offensive, i dont really blame them.

If your neighbour's wife is vile mouthed to her husband, when her husband gets fed up and raise his hand against her, people will say it serves her right. But when a seemingly good housewife is beaten by her husband, neighbours will intervene or report to the police.

See, life itself is not fair. Palestinians are not the first people to have their lands taken and flogged for complaining. Private citizens in Nigeria suffer the same fate by people in power. They have a better option than become aggressive and losing their lives and livelyhood in the process.

Car Talk › Re: Car Users Please Note When Buying Fuel... by adanny01(m):
Mine was a simple one.

The guy started pumping the N5,000 i asked him to but when he said he need to reset because the pump had stalled. I knew he was up to something i looked at the meter, he had dispensed N110.

He reset and continued dispensing. I told my friend in the car that the attendant is up to somthing that i have been a victim before. He came out too ready for the show down.

The extra eyes on him got him uneasy. Not surprising he stopped dispensing at N3900. I asked him why he stopped, he said he was through since he dispensed N1100 before. I said 'hell no', it was N110. He asked 'are u sure? I said 'hell yea'. He wanted to argue but realised i was ready for him and knew the trick. He pretended to be confused but completed my fuel till N4,890.
Car Talk › Re: Car Tire Sealant by adanny01(m): 10:39pm On Aug 18, 2014
Siena: For small punctures from nails or screws, some work. But it ruins the tyre. So a simple puncture that could be repaired is no longer an option. The tyre is now scrap rubber. The sealant softens the rubber from the inside, meaning a patch won't adhere.

As a LAST option to get you home in an emergency, it's okay to use. Long-term use is dangerous.

There are 2 types:

One that is injected into a good tyre, so in the event of a puncture, it may seal a hole, depending on the size. It DOES erode the rubber from the inside, so NOT recommended.

Then another which is a pressurised can, that is injected into a flat tyre via the valve, it seals and inflates in a singular action. It must NOT be used long term.

Personally, I would NOT use any, or recommend anyone else to use them.
I have in several occasions wanted to buy the total brand of it but declined for no obvious reason.

May be my gut was leading me aright.

Ikenna351: The bolded above is the easiest way of frying injection ECU. Its a major killer of EFI systems, I mean playing with electrics in that manner. A small spark could easily harm your injection ECU which will gradually detoriate and would later send the ECU to grave the day you least expect. That you didnt notice any abnormal behaviour from the car after doing that doesnt mean harm has not been done. The second harm is all it may need to say farewell to you for good.

A Lion owner called me some days ago. He took his Lion to an auto electrician to revert the wrong radiator fan connection to factory. Unfortunately, the clown didnt disconnect the battery terminals. While at the work, a wire touched where it shouldnt touch and it generated a spark. Guess what? It fried the injection ECU straight ahead. Luckily for him, it spared his BSI, but the engine ECU was gone. I knew how much it cost him to get that car to start and run again.

Few months back, a Lion owner called me as well. What happened? A mechanic disconnected the battery terminals while leaving the key on the ignition switch (probably the ignition was on as well). It simply fried the BSI, no mercy!

My point is, those sparks you see while reconnecting battery terminals while engine is running is not good for any ECU.

The easiest and simplest method of diagnosing, troubleshooting or checking the state of Alternator or Battery is with DMM (Digital Multimeter). You can get a DMM as cheap as N200 (Two hundred naira only) and it will do the work perfectly. Get one, switch on the DMM, turn the knob to DC volts, start the vehicle, place the DMM red lead on battery positive terminal and DMM black lead on negative battery terminal. If you see on the DMM screen 11v, 12.4v or 12.5v, then the Alternator is gone. Also if you see anything between 12.5v - 12.8v, it means the Alternator is on its way out (failing gradually). I dont know about Honda, but for Peugeot, 13v - 14v means the Alternator is still intact.

To check the state of the battery. While engine is off, place the DMM leads as explained above. Anything less than 12.5v means the battery is drained or dying. It could still start the car, but could die soon, unless something is draining the battery.

Please, not that 12.5v also means 12.50v, depending on how the DMM is set up.

Ikenna
Thats quite true.

That was the test i did on the battery and alternator when i concluded i didnt have a battery problem. I saw the test method online and did it. The website recommended about 14.3v for a normal charging system and i got that exactly that. I cant precisely recall the exact value for the battery when engine is not running but i think it was 14.1v or so.

I do recall that when charging its higher.

I tested the battery at different times to find out if there was a voltage difference but nothing. I tested in the afternoon, night and early in the morning and just when i experienced the starting problem. The battery voltage was the same at all times.

I own an elm bluetooth scanner which reads the ecu voltage too, it also gave same result.

Sagamite: Israel's arbitrarily and intentionally kills civilians to effect political change and then PR-tune it as "mistakes".
Hamas arbitrarily and intentionally places and shoots its missiles from civilian buildings and close to public areas to attract Isreali fire that wiil definately kill civilians. This is to effect political empathy for their cause through deaths and then PR-tune its inhumane guerilla warfare strategy.

Isn't it the same thing?!

Both of them have justified demands and both have been using unjustifiable means to get their demands. At the end palestinians carry the weight of actions from both sides.

The end will only come when the Palestinian Government and the Palestinian people realise that peace is the only solution and renounce their support for Hamas, taking up their demands themselves and making a compromise.

I refuse to be bias. The only party that can end the conflict is the Palestinians. Palestinians have their freedom in their hands, they can do whatever they choose to do with it. They can continue to make demands, refuse compromise, fight or stop fighting, compromise their demands and regain their freedom. They wont have both.

nas00: Good morning friends.

Something not funny is happening to my '03 Accord ignition.

It once happened in the past that the car refused to start when I turned the key. Instead, it made some 'sparking' sound around the steering column and the lights on the dashboard would immediately fade out, then spark would stop.

I thought my battery was getting flat, and I replaced it with a brand new one. To my surprise, the same thing happened with the new battery.

I called an electrician to see, who told me the problem is in my car ignition. He removed a component attached to the end of the keyhole and took it for repair. After this, car started without problems for some weeks... BUT that shyt happened again yesterday.

Please, does anyone in the house know what the exact problem is and how it may be permanently fixed?

Thanks.
I have been experiencing the same thing but not frequent with my 2003 accord. I almost purchased a new battery but performed a battery test which i concluded that my battery was not defective.

I also experienced another problem. When kicking the kick starter slows down and stops. The next kick, it will just click but after 2-3 attempts, it will start normal like there was no problem. This one happens occassionally too. I was advised to change kick starter which i have not done yet.
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by adanny01(m): 12:37pm On Aug 11, 2014
nas00: 1. A 2003 Honda Accord, 4-cylinder engine will need about 4.4 litres of engine oil on the average. It may be more if the engine was hot at the time the oil is drained (which makes the engine oil to be drained thinner).
Therefore, after filling with 4.4 litres, you must check your engine oil level before starting your car the next morning. If the oil is short of the full mark on the dipstick, top off appropriately.

2. Although, Honda recommends 15" rims for the 2003 Accord, the car can be fitted with 16" wheels. This may affect the car's centre of gravity and consequently balance at top speed. Except a pre-existing American owner changes to 16" wheels, the factory default wheel size for 2003 Accord is 15". As such, it is quite unlikely you will get a 2003 Accord, shipped in with 16" wheels on it.

Hope my response was helpful.

Cheers!
Point of correction;

1. 4 cylinder requires 4.2 litres of engine oil if you also change the filter but less if you dont. The V6 takes 4.3 litres with filter or less without filter change. Filter takes about 0.2-0.3litres.

2. The 2003 honda accord comes from factory with both 15" and 16" wheels (rims) depending on the trim. DX and LX both have 15" steel wheel while EX comes from factory with 16" alloy wheel.

Please note that the overall circumference of the wheel and tire set up is almost equal. This is because 15" wheels are matched to a 65 profile tire while the 16" is matched with a 60 profile tire bringing both to almost the same circumference. You could install 17" or 18" wheels but reduce profile to 55 or 50 respectively, which gives you almost the same circumference.

DX has 195/65R15 tire
LX has 205/65R15 tire
EX has 205/60R16 tire

Politics › Re: Impeachment: Nasarawa Speaker, 5 Others Face Recall by adanny01(m):
gbegudujo: Extremely difficult to do as all the people that voted must sign the recall paper and if anyone of them is dead the recalling is impossible so its barely impossible to do
Not all but one-half of the persons registered to vote in that member's Constituency.

Its not impossible as long as the required number is reached that require inec to initiate the recall processes. First of all there will be a cross check when all that signed must be confirmed as registered voters of the constituency and have reached one half of total registered voters. A referendum will be arranged and voting will be carried out and all must be withing 3months.

Why it has not happened in Nigeria is that the political party and the candidate move againts it with bribes and sort stopping people from signing it. In this case were two parties are involved, it will be a much more complicated one since a signature means a yes for the governor (who is doing well) and a decline means no for the governor. Since the governor is well love by the people anyone who doesnt sign is either bribed or benefits directly from the house member. Its like choosing between the governor and the house member.

Never have we had a recall reason better than this one. Ofcourse, the processes will stop once the members realise the number will be reached and move to reconcile with their constituents. It always ends this way.
