Underground: Lol!
You have even debunked yourself without realizing it! Where on earth did you get this map from? A palestine state with arficial straight line borders? How so? And why is the outline of the present state of Israel and Palestine showing within this map itself? Have you asked yourself that question? The map is so ridiculous it beggars belief!

I'll do you one. Why don't you log unto wikipedia where you would find accurate historical pictures of Palestine, not this fictional one which you have posted here... Here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Palestine
This is a screen shot of google maps from my mobile phone. I see straight line borders around there, so what are you saying.

That long article of yours is the most baised version of the situation between Isreal and Palestine i have ever attempted to read. I couldnt read any further.

Though history is important to humans, if we all want maps of times far past to be used to solve our differences today, it would not work.

Land matters are serious matters that the only solution is that both sides should compromise. Without that violence is indefinate.

In Isreals case, it is the Palestinians that dont want to compromise even with their loss of lives. Those who choose to live by the sword shall die by the sword.

What do Palestinians want, dismantel the state of Isreal and annihilate all Jews? Thats simply and totally impossible. The world knows that, thats why the world cant help them.

django1: Maybe the time sky fall came out was when the cinema was still a new phenomenon in uyo.
No it wasnt new. I was watching movies there for over 5 months before that movie. I heard it opened 2011 and i watched skyfall in early 2013.

sluvy4tune: Spot on, I have notice that about the movies too, but imagine how empty tropican would be if a movie ticket was #1500 as it is in abuja/lagos, u don't expect the very best with such a price. I confronted the management about those new movies & they told me producers refuse giving their movies for such price that they rather package them into DVD than bring to Uyo, an average Akwa ibomite is a civil servant increase that movie ticket to #1500 you will meet an empties hall.my suggestion to the management was that new movies ticket shud be sold for like #500 instead of not bringing them at atall, the beauty of cinema is that first to see it mentality+ the big screen factor (e dey ease stress pass)
As for the chicken, I get my supplier, fresh from the fire. he dare not bring me chicken of more than 24hrs.

Shey u trust ur girls nah grin abadie ?
Emesiere.

Funny enough, the theatre used to be full on new movie days and even afterwards. Am telling you, full theatres when it was N500. I watched skyfall when it came out new for N500, theatre 1 was full to the brim and people were not getting seats while even the first row where no one seats now were occupied. Midway in the movie Akpabio came in, we missed some minutes of the movie because people started hailing him and stood up. Then uou will see expatriates and their families. Now, upon all the cars and the people you see, na picture dey worry them and you have to be jumping over peoples legs seated there, who does that. If they return to old pricing and bring new hollywood movies, those theatres will fill up with genuine movie lovers while those who want Nollywood can still get some.

Afterall, i can swear the producers of those movies get paid by the state to show them. Even the former price i believe was subsidised by the state. Most, if not all of the nollywood movies shown there are produced or directed or acted or shot by an Akwaibom indigene or awka ibom was used as shooting location.

Do you know that when Arik air started Uyo route, they were paid by the state for empty seats! It has stopped though, since Arik, aero and Dana fly here.

sluvy4tune: Kindly remove Uyo from that list please. Uyo will be expensive(maybe in 3-5years) from now, but at the moment cost of living in Uyo is cheap.

My 2 bedroom apartment, in the heart of the town, interlocked compound with gate, fence round and well sized up bedroom I got it for 250k.( have also seen 3bedroom for 250k as well nice compound)The environment is cool & the house is a virgin house(freshly build) that's why some would say is that expensive.

My 3 bedroom office space with 2 toilet, interlocked compound also in the centre of the town went for 300k, thou not a virgin apartment but very decent and nice 3storey building.

Taking cabs/keke is also very affordable, the price ranges from #30 -#50, if you want a drop it goes for about #150-#200

Journey of 20mins is 20mins no matter the hold up (that's if you encounter any ) I leave my house by 8:49am to catch up an appointment with some1 by 9am and I am rest assure I will get there promptly.

Finally if you wanna relax/chill a movie ticket at silverbird in Uyo is just #250 grin my first time I tot it was a joke

Considering where I am coming from Abuja/Phc I consider Uyo the cheapest for now. An average abuja /ph Guy is a top notch celeb (money no be problem) in Uyo.
For babes matter na u go tire especially if you be Corper. Don't know why but ibom ladies love corpers wink Akwa ibom ladies truly know how to keep a man. Food and other wise.

Mbok if you see chicken for #200 u go delete this thread.
Ufan mi.

That silverbird in uyo na the bigest disappointment. Incase you dont know, a movie like Robocop was showing in Uyo for complete 6months. Do you call that a movie theatre. Something went wrong in that place. When i arrived Uyo 2yrs ago, movie of the week was always N500. Atleast a new one every week while older ones are N300. That regime was more affordable than going to PH, Abj or Lagos. New movies atleast once a week some times 2. But now, na so so Nollywood movies especially the ones wey no get head and tail. The Hollywood movies like 3 for six months on a flat N250. The governor is always there and i think he forced the price down and they stop showing Hollywood movies.

Those girls ehnnn! Hmmmmmmmmm.

Those chickens na 8wks or less o. Cant stand it, if you like it, mfun iba.

If Uyo is one of the most expensive cities in Nigeria, how come Ikot Ekpene less that 30km away made the list of the least expensive. In doesnt add up.

I once went to a creek in Ikot Abasi, asked a fisherman how much in average is his usual catch so i could come buy sometime, he said N20,000! A village fisherman asking for such money for one fish, i yelled and took off. Buying pineapple in a pineapple farm directly from the farmer any where in Akwa Ibom is even more expensive than in Abuja. They dont look at the item, they think money and just call it. You wont find it funny that they wont budge from that price.

My folks up north asked me to buy crayfish for them thinking it will be cheap, i told the there was no point. When my wife visited she went to the market to atleast buy something cheap for gifts, she travelled back empty handed.

The only problem with abuja is accomodation, ortherwise its the cheapest among all these cities. menntioned.

I had this kind of coolant leakage on 2006 toyota prado. The cap was the culprit.

I changed it and almost a year now, never topped water again.

I think those caps have a pressure release mechanism when bad cause continues leakage and boiling without the engine itself overheating until water is all out. I dont completely understand how it works but you can try a new cap, if it doesnt stop, do as Ikenna suggested.
Car Talk › Re: How Many Kilometres Can Your Car Travel Per Litre Of Fuel? by adanny01(m): 3:31pm On Jul 14, 2014
I get about 24 mpg on 2003 Honda accord I4 2.4L Automatic gear. That translates to 10.2 Km/L combined Highway and city. I have not done highway different from city computations.

I get between 18-19 mpg on 2006 Toyota Prado I4 2.7L Manual gear full time 4x4. Translating to 7.65 - 8.1 Km/L combined. Testing this one correctly is a bit of a challenge for me because of its huge dual tank (90 + 90= 180L) and a faulty full gauge that sometimes tells a big lie! I have had the car stall on the highway while gauge is at a quarter only to lay flat after i turn the ignition off and on.
Car Talk › Re: How Many Kilometres Can Your Car Travel Per Litre Of Fuel? by adanny01(m): 12:37pm On Jul 14, 2014
alienYOUTH: My first car dint hav a speedometer/fuel gauge; d whole friggin dashboard dint work sef, so i relied on d "holy ghost" & a spare 4L gallon of fuel in d trunk to get by.

The general story of how i calculate mine wit my current car is i always fill up my tank and reset d counter. My fuel gauge has 4 spaces (5 tick marks) btw empty and full. I noticed dat d gauge doesn't normally lift from d full positn until i clock 100km, every other tickmark is approx an additional 100km, so by d time i reach 1/2 tank i shld hav clocked 300km.
Never ridden my car empty before, usually refill @ 1/2 tank (considering d way fuel scarcity can jump on u in dis country) and d station pump usually reads 25L +/- so i knw my tank is like 50L.

From d above story, i now knw my car rides at 300km/25L = 12km/L optimum. If my gauge lifts from empty before i clock 100km or reaches halftank before i clock 300km repeatedly, i know there's a problem wit my car somewhere.
The better way to approximately calculate your mileage is;
For city, drive to a patrol station, fill you tank till the first stop of the dispenser. Rest you trip meter, drive city for about 2 days and return to same patrol station and same pump if possible. Fill you tank again to the first stop of the dispenser. Calculate mileage with the purchased litres against the trip meter reading at the patrol station.

Do same for highway but this time, incase you cant get back to the same station, try as much as possible that the two stations used have almost equal level profile.

This method will be more accurate since your fuel guage may not give you an accurate measurement of consumed or remaining fuel. Difference could be as bad as up to 5.

I suspect PDP on this list. Ikot Ekpene!

I didnt expect any of Akwa Ibom town to make this list. The people are known for high level of greed in their pricing structure and their unwelcoming attitude towards visitors who intend to take something home from business. Igbos dont find it easy there.

Though there is money to be made there.
Health › Re: Nma Strike, The Nurses' Perspective. by adanny01(m): 9:37am On Jul 12, 2014
Older nurses are seriously a piece of work. Apart from their jealousy towards Doctors, they are also jealous of their fellow young graduate nurses. I have seen several scenerios when an old nurse is not cooperative with her Doctor and her young nurse who because of the nursing degree has suddenly become her boss. I have seen outright disgust to the point of physical exchange of blows.

Nurses we used to know never went to the universities until recently. That has allowed mediocrity into their system. Now they have grown wings and want to fly without feathers.

I would also mention that the respect the doctors get has been overhyped. Their profession is supposed to a humble one but not what it is today where vanity is the order of the day. Nowadays, a doctor must have a private hospital at the sidelines.

At general hospital in Kafanchan, Kaduna state, the pediatrician is the only in southern Kaduna but an albino Igbo guy who owns a private clinic. In the government hospital he is callled Dr Sharp Sharp, because he cares less of a patient in the hospital only to recommend you meet him privately for better and adequate treament. Once there, you are admitted for days while still giving you panadol and accumulating huge bills of 10k per night in an unkempt so called vip ward with broken beds, broken down A/C and tv. A woman whose husband had unpaid 40k bills and had been avoiding the Dr had brought their infant child who this Dr had treated but had relapsed and fainted. The Dr refused looking at the infant baby requesting to see the father or outstandng bills paid. All pleas fell on deaf ears including mine. My son was just admitted, i really got scared that if this Dr is this heartless then my son isnt safe. I decided my son had to leave there, i had told the Dr i wasnt confortable with all that was going on. The Dr instructed his staff not to allow me leave with my child or he bans me from ever coming to his hospital. I confided in a nurse who assisted me, i paid for drugs and half the amount for the night i never slept and took off with my child. The Dr called me placing a ban on me and my family from his hospital and even the government hospital where he is an employee should he be the one to attend to us. After seeing the heartlessness of this Dr, i almost hated the profession.

Let Doctors, nurses, pharmacist, lab scientist do their work while professional managers manage the hospitals. My view.
Car Talk › Re: 2000 Nissan Pathfinder (Toks) Emitting Serious Heat, Pls Help! (Pic) SOLVED by adanny01(m): 11:40pm On Jul 11, 2014
Costee: Fine premise. But would you be suggesting that either or both are working spasmodically? If the fans are not working, that could easily be seen. If the thermostat has completely gone bad, you don't need to be in traffic to experience overheating.
Quite true, though some thermostat failures is just a erratic behaviour.

If the thermostat is stuck close temperature should go up straight to near red zone within 20mins of start in the morning. If it is stuck open temperature may not get to its usual middle range and will take a longer time to. If it is erratic, anything can happen.
Car Talk › Re: 2000 Nissan Pathfinder (Toks) Emitting Serious Heat, Pls Help! (Pic) SOLVED by adanny01(m):
Now there is a problem.

Unfortunately diagnosing high temperature is not an easy task. You have to be meticulous to avoid causing damage to other parts that are in good working order but was suppected.

Since there is no reduction in water level and especially that it happens on traffic, i suspect 2 things, cooling fan or thermostat. My bet will be on the cooling fan. I will not be able to tell you much on that without physical examination since the fan is not electrical. You will need to get a good mechanic to check the fan.

In an event the mechanic says the fan is ok, let him remove the thermostat. Collect the thermostat and keep, then drive the car for a day or two without it checking to to see if it over heats again. Also check with engine running and radiator cap open to see if the water moves like a whirl wind. If it doest move or moves without pattern, is a sign for bad water pump.

If the over heating stops then you probably have a bad thermostat which you should look for a good one and install. If it overheats then the thermostat is good but do not reinstall yet.

Solve your heating problem and then reinstall the thermostat, note, only after you are sure you have found the problem and corrected it.

Removing the radiator should be the last resort after every lead fails.
