I saw a brand new tire with a road side vulcanizer, upon inspection, it was exactly 4yrs. A big man removed this set of tires even when the spare was never used.

I bargained the new one for 5k so i could use for spare as my spare is bad. This man asked for 30k and insisted 20k later, i laughed and took off.

Are you sure its a 2004 model with carburator? Joker is supposed to be the 2 door 1994 model Honda Civic.

If you are sure its a carburator then you just need a good carburator mechanic to tune it.

Forgive me but that una school dey share grades too. I did ITF with some of them who told me their whole class (civil engrg) was evenly split between 2-1 and 2-2 the rest are either 1st or 3rd class with no pass. That wasnt the civil engineering i knew in most federal Uni's. Their class was a class of about 150 or more and @ 400L. That was when on the same course we had only 3 2-1, almost even split of 2-2 and 3rd class and some pass in a class of 50. It was also a time when 2 of their lecturers were in my school for PhD.

Sagamite: If some fucktards did not decide to roam the streets killing people from the most oppressed group of people in human history (i.e. Jews) then maybe we would not have this lunacy taking place.

If they did not have a "Infidel-on-our holy-land mentality" then maybe we would not have this lunacy taking place.

On the other hand, if the Jews do not send Jewish arsehole people that killed an innocent man, just living his life traveling to visit family, to only one hour in jail, then maybe many Palestinians would not be so fired up to kill Jews.

If Palestinians are not seeing pubescent kids locked up for years without fair trial, then maybe many Palestines would not be so fired up to kill Jews.

If Palestinians do not have to see their mother's dying of cancer while they go to the border to beg the Israelis for permit to get them treatment outside their national jail and it is refused for months till their mother dies slowly in agonising pain, maybe they would not love throwing bombs so much.

If Palestinians don't wake up one day with Israeli soldiers banging on their doors and then telling them to get out of it in 15 minutes and then they flatten every single house on the street as revenge for bombs sent by some other person they don't know and can't control, leaving them homeless in an instance, maybe so many Palestinian kids would not grow trying to join any group sending bombs into Israeli homes.

If Israel was jailing Jewish settlers fundamentalist that shoot and kill Palestinians at will walking on the street or just beat them up, maybe Palestinians would hate Israelis less.

Israel and Israelis commit so much atrocities and then they try and use PR propaganda to cover it all up and just say "Well, we all know Muslims are terrorists and unreasonable".
You started well like someone who is neutral but ended up blaming one side when clearly your write up suggests both sides have their fair share of blame.

An action from one side results in a reaction from the other side, its the simple truth which you agree.

There is one thing you missed which is part of the reason why the end is not near. The average Palestinian supports Hamas. Their government supports Hamas. Hamas is within the people. I dont blame them for that support in one view, in another view, for the interest of peace, they should renounce Hamas. This war is between Hamas and Isreali government that is taking a toll mostly on Palestinians.

You of all people know why Gaza is a 'jail'.

I wonder whey you choose to look at it that way only beacause you are a moslem.

Can Isreals attack be called unprovoked or you dont hear the news?

Everything started when 3 jews were kidnapped and killed. Then hamas or whatever they call themselves send rockets in Isreal.

Do you expect Isreal to say sorry or what. If Cameroon sends rockets to Nigeria what will Nigeria do?

Last time i checked, Isrealites that were attacked were also innocent christians and moslems.

I dont think being alike is a good thing for a couple.

The only area me and my wife are alike is towards hygiene. We both hate using towels used by others or eating from an unkept house or environment.

For example, my neighbour keeps assorted dogs as business, their cages are just by our borehole so my wife wont use the water for cooking. Any food cooked by my neighbours wife that comes to our house ends up in the trash because of that water.

In most of our differences, we complement each other. I read to understand, she just memorise. I forget, she remembers. I am lazy, she is very hard wotking. I am fat, she is slim. I am an extrovert, she is an introvert. I watch movies with ear plugs, she gets mad at that. She is more devout of a Christian than me, so she encaurages me and its good for our children.

Totota has these trim levels starting from lowest to highest

VE, CE, LE, XLE

Honda has DX, LX, EX, SI

VE and DX - in most cases have no A/C, power windows, power mirrors nor keyless entry. They also have smaller sized tires with standard iron wheels with or without wheel covers.

CE and LX - have optional A/C, power windows, power mirrors, keyless entry. Honda has LX-V6 which has options of EX.

LE and EX - have standard alloy wheels (Honda), A/C, power windows, power mirrors, keyless entry, 6cd changer audio systems. Options include seat heater, power seat (driver), leather seat, navigation, moon/sun roof

XLE and SI - have every option standard.

All these are changing with more recent cars which some may have A/C across all trims.

Your car has a mechanical cooling fan which is controled by a clutch system for effective cooling. Dont tamper with it.

It obviously have the thermostat installed. Thats good. Only monitor the temperature guage going further than its usual point. Heat coming from under the car is as a result of the fan blowing it.

Delivery time greatlly varies with dealers. Most dealers do bulk clearing which makes it cheaper and then transportation route matters too. It all depends on the dealer's integrity. It takes min of 4 days for a round trip. Takes longer if the dealer has so many deals at hands.

Boyoorisha: Hello everyone, I have a honda accord 2003 v6. The car started acting up a month ago. I was driving to somewhere when it started jerking, after several jerks, the car stopped completely and it would not start again. I was told it was kick starter and the fuel pump, I got the two replaced and the car started but smoked heavily, the smoke smell fuel. The following day, it started jerking again and went off. I called the mechanic who said it was the nussle (I dont know if i spelt it correctly), after he did his work, the car was fine. Two days later, I began to hear a clicking sound when I accelerate, I called the guy again and he said it might be the brain box. I parked the car in the office and I called another mechanic to come and check it, he decided to take the car to the workshop. After we started the car, soon it would go off on its own. We managed to take it to his workshop and I left. The following day when I checked, I would say the guy has damaged the car the more. You could obviously hear the engine running now with heavy noise and smoke. The guy is now saying I may need to buy a new engine, I have used the car for just six months!

PLEASE I NEED HELP, WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH THE CAR?
First things first, at purchase, did the car have check engine light lit?

Secondly, do you have the cel lit right now? If yes, at what point in its history that the light came on?

Thirdly, have you scanned the car? Get a scan and come here with the codes.

Lastly, you descrption is not detailed. If the car smokes, what colour is the smoke? Black, Blue or white? Do you have engine oil shortage? You have to listen and describe where you think the sound is coming from? Other observations are will be helpful.

klipse: Hello guys, I recently noticed that my accord 2008 keeps pulling to the left or right. When I brake it randomly swerves, I have to hold the steering tightly to keep the car from changing lanes. My mechanic says I have to change my front shocks while another said its my tie rods. Please help, I dnt want to waste hard earned money changing the wrong parts. What can be the problem, its so bad that I have to move below 60km/hr on third mainland bridge.
Its a serious problem, i suggest you dont keep driving the car in that condition unless you are heading to the mechanic workshop.

Tie rod ends most probably or upper arm ball joints or bushing. Bushing would have made made noise sha. To be safe let your mechanic check all the ball joints and replace any defective immediately. They are not so expensive.

omega2128: On the Parity of Esteem Between
Polytechnics and Universities
By Farooq A. Kperogi
If you are a university graduate who has been
socialized to disdain polytechnics as inferior
higher education institutions, think about this:
Albert Einstein, the world’s most renowned
physicist and one of the most influential thinkers
of all time, graduated from the Zurich Polytechnic (now called the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology Zurich) in 1900 with a diploma in
mathematics and physics. Unlike in Nigeria, his diploma wasn’t a handicap
to his pursuit of advanced degrees. He studied
for and earned his Ph.D. in experimental physics
from the University of Zurich, five years after his
diploma. If a polytechnic produced one of the world’s
greatest thinkers, why are polytechnics so low
on the totem pole of post-secondary education in
Nigeria? Why do we reserve ice-cold derision for
polytechnic qualifications? Well, the answer lies in the different philosophies
that informed the establishment of polytechnics
in different countries. In the United States, as I
pointed out last week, “polytechnic universities”
and “institutes of technology” are, and have
always been, similar in rank and structure to conventional universities. So they don’t have the
reputational baggage that our polytechnics have. But the UK tradition of polytechnic education,
which we inherited in Nigeria, intended for
polytechnics to be no more than intermediate
technical and vocational schools to train
technologists and lowbrow, middle-level
manpower. So their mandate limited them to offer sub-degree courses in engineering and
applied sciences. In time, however, they ventured into the
humanities and the social sciences and then
sought to be equated with universities. This
request was grudgingly granted only after the
British government set up the Council for
National Academic Awards (CNAA)—composed wholly of people from the universities—to
examine and validate the quality of polytechnic
qualifications. However, in spite of this elaborate institutional
quality control (which had no equivalent for
universities) the higher national diploma (HND)
was treated as only the equivalent of a
bachelor’s degree “without honors.” In university administration lingo, only a “pass”
degree—the lowest possible rank in British
degree classification— is considered a degree
“without honors.” This means that first-class,
upper-second-class, lower-second-class and
third-class degrees have “honors” and that the HND is only equivalent to a “pass” degree. That’s why, traditionally, British universities did
not— and still do not— admit HND graduates to
master’s degree programs (even if they had a
distinction in their diploma) without first
requiring them to undergo a one-year remedial
postgraduate diploma program— just like people with “pass” degrees must undergo a remedial
program before being admitted to master’s
degree programs. This invidious discrimination against polytechnic
graduates and manifestly preferential treatment
of university graduates, often called the “Binary
Divide” in UK higher education parlance,
predictably gave rise to pervasive feelings of
deep and bitter anger and ill-will in the system. So in 1992, under the Further and Higher
Education Act, the “binary divide” was abolished
and all the 35 polytechnics in the UK were
elevated to universities and given powers to
award bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees.
There are no more polytechnics in the UK. Most other countries with British-style binary
divides also eliminated the distinction between
polytechnics and universities to varying degrees.
In Australia, polytechnics were elevated to
“universities of technology” in the 1990s. Hong
Kong, a former British colony like Nigeria, upgraded its two polytechnics—The Hong Kong
Polytechnic and the City Polytechnic of Hong
Kong — to universities in 1994 and 1995
respectively. New Zealand also merged all its polytechnics
with existing universities and allowed only one
— Auckland University of Technology (formerly
the Auckland Institute of Technology)—to
transmute to a full-fledged university in the
1990s. Greece abolished its polytechnics and upgraded them to universities in 2001. In South
Africa, from 2004, polytechnics were either
merged with universities or upgraded to
“universities of technologies” although with
limited rights and privileges. In Germany, polytechnics can now, in addition to
diplomas, award bachelor’s and master’s degrees
in technical and vocational subjects (and in some
humanities and social science courses such as
communication studies, business and
management, etc) but cannot award PhDs. In Sierra Leone, where polytechnic education
began only in 2001, the country’s three
polytechnics award bachelor’s degrees in a
limited number of courses, in addition to
awarding diplomas and certificates. Even Kenya
has started upgrading its polytechnics to universities from this year. What the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany,
Hong Kong, Greece, etc achieved in the 1990s
and 2000s — that is, the abolition of the often
unfair parity esteem between polytechnic and
university qualifications—had been achieved in
Albert Einstein’s polytechnic in 1909, five years after he got his diploma there. It was, like most
other polytechnics in Switzerland, elevated to a
full-fledged university, although it is still fondly
called “Poly” by its students, staff, and alumni. Now, only a shrinking pool of countries retains
the binary divide between polytechnics and
universities, viz. Nigeria, Singapore, India,
Pakistan, Ghana, and Malaysia. We have no
business being in this lonely company. So this is my recommendation: The HND should
be abolished. However, the OND should be
retained to supply the nation’s middle-level
manpower needs and to serve as a foundational
qualification for entry into bachelor’s degree
programs. Smaller polytechnics should be merged with contiguous universities and be given the
power to award OND and bachelor’s degrees.
Big, resource-rich polytechnics like Yaba Tech
and Kaduna Polytechnic should be intellectually
upgraded and then converted to full-fledged
universities. Having taught mass communication on a part-
time basis at the Kaduna Polytechnic 10 years
ago, I frankly think that the distinction between
polytechnic and university curricula, at least in
the humanities and the social sciences, is like the
distinction between six and half a dozen. In other words, it’s a distinction without a
difference. It’s time to bridge our own binary divide.
Kaduna poly has been running degree course for more than 7 years now. I have a friend who graduated with a degree from there and has since served and is working right now.

I am not sure for the masters but i heard they were to award that too.

Many commentators here do not know the real reason the case was taken to court or the arguments made.

All this argument has to do with the nigerian Civil service rules which places a university cert holder over a poly cert holder. This only manifest in a certain stage during the service but not at the employment stage. Example; in my state civil service that i know of, Uni graduates and poly graduates are all employed at salary grade level 8. Every other promotion and steps attainment is the same.

The 1st difference starts only when both clash for a particular office or appointment where the Uni graduate will be considered higher by merit of qualification certificate. Secondly, poly graduates dont get promoted to level 16 (Director) without additional qualification interms of PGD or master degree or even a 1st degree. That is a limit which even i as a uni graduate feel its uncalled for.
