I liked smelling my new "reader" and text books.I still remember d smell....also I remember how gullible I was.whenever I had to take an injection or immunization,I'd cry and cry but my mum and d nurses always deceived me by saying dat if you don't take d injection,so and so person won't allow u to come to her birthday party(making it sound as if d party is already taking place).I go jus summon courage take d injection.after injection,oya mummy where's d party?answer:tomorrow.by tomorrow,I don forget.lol.funny thing is that same story every injection time and I always fell for it.hehehe.but children of these days don't get easily deceived o.dem sharp die!....those days,if my uncle/aunty come to our house to visit,when they wanna leave,I ll start crying and wanting to follow.they ll say "go and get ur shoes",before I come out with my shoes,dem don run o.I cry tire.U can't try that with children of these days more than once o.they won't fall for it.I did it to my niece one day and escaped,d next time I was there,as soon as she saw me and greeted me,she run enter inside room carry her shoe come out and waited for me patiently till I was ready to go.aunty,I ll follow u.ok go and bring ur shoes.I shock when she lifted d shoes from right beside me. cheesy

),I remember forming mummy by cooking with sand and leaves whenever we traveled to d village,I remember zebrudaya,checkmate and ichoko;I remember being bullied in school by my seat mate who was always loosening my threads and braids and threatening me with their driver(till my mum told me that she ll beat me and starve me if I didn't fight back.I fought back and the bully stopped.*thanks mum*.lol),I remember ten ten,who stole d meat from d cooking pot,if u were born in february stand up and dance,there's fire on d mountain run run run,holiday is coming no more morning bells,chocomilo,okin biscuits,oyakaka,tandi guranda,sunday rendevous,speak-out,superted and voltron d defender of d universe,fraggle rocks,doctor who and willy willy,dus numberi(nos 10),ghazab and sunita indian movies,evi edna,take a message to mary,chaka chaka,oliver d'coque,osadebe.....finally there's this song,I don't know who sang it but it was making d waves then.I still remember d lyrics(some part of it)blaring from our turn table aka record.goes thus.....and that is what I'm saying,and that is what I mean,when d going is good you will have many friends,they will call u many names,they will say they love you,they will say they need you,they will say you are good,and so on and so forth;but when d going is bad most of them will disappear and will never come back,when they come back they have come just to help in knocking u down down down down down down down.....higher higher higher higher higher,higher...please naa,abeg ooo if anyone knows d name of dis artiste they should help me with it.I was crazy about dis song!

in my home,my mum was the flogger.she would assign housechores and sometimes come home to find that we didn't do them.played a lot.ohh,how she flogged us!we never hated her for it.not for a single day,the irony is that my dad,who never lifted a finger on us was the one we feared.....as an adult,when I reflect,I hold nothing in my heart for her but pure love.sometimes we tease her about her "terror cane" and we all have a goodlaugh about it.......back to topic,I will flog my kids.children are more intelligent than we give them credit for.they know whose bluff to call and whose not to.they know what they can get away with,and with whom.we keep saying "he's just a child,when he's older he ll get it".more often than not,they don't get it!from as early as 2yrs old,they try to manipulate d parents.at 2,I won't exactly use a cane on my kid but will spank d back of his/her palm,when they get older,I ll introduce d cane.as late teenagers,I ll use words.there's no way that kid won't turn out good!and yes,I owe the way I turned out to my parents,especially my mum!I LOVE YOU MUM!!

maybe,but the worship isn't rampant these days.we just don't kill them and they are totally harmless.they just move about freely.whenever I go home for xmas and they roam about the compound,my male cousins just lift them up with bare hands or sticks and take them out of d compound.my cousin even wore one round his neck!they are that harmless,but I no dey near the snakes or d holder/wearer o....oh and when walking by and we see a dead one,people just get big leaves and cover them.I'm not sure the significance of that.
